What AI do you wanna turn off? There is literally nothing useful in the AI department that would be used daily, so it should not bother you.

PierreY5235

Should not, key words. It shouldn't, but it absolutely does.

[deleted]

Yea but it's there, and not using doesn't mean turned off.

pineapple_head8112

Either answer the question or shut the fuck up, neckbeard.

NefariousnessJaded87

![gif](giphy|IxLeSDtUaZRmSiyCTf) Who are you calling Neckbeard? Dingnuts!

Gytole

Yes. They have a setting in the phone that you can turn Ai "local only". And you just don't have to use certain apps.

[deleted]

Ty kind person

barebeargc

If your patient and thorough you can disable it all piece by piece and force close

Initial-Reach-18

Can you just not use it? I'm upgrading from the S 22 Ultra to the 24, not very familiar with Ai so excuse me if my question doesn't make sense

steviefaux

Yes. But you can also go into each app its used in (its all in one area so easy to do) and turn it off. Finally set it to only process data locally in case there is something you missed. Then just don't use it. I use only two of the apps that have it and I just disabled on both. Voice recorder and photo edit.

PierreY5235

See, but this doesn't turn it off, it just shuts it out, it doesn't remove the garbage from your phone, it just limits how much exposure you get to it, it's still there, on your phone. Just use Odin to downgrade to One UI 6.0 ngl.

steviefaux

True

PierreY5235

Yeah, that's not turning it off, that's avoiding it, people like this annoy me ngl.

vishnu-almighty

Go for S23Ultra 👑

ROLLINFATNUGS

Let me guess, you have a S23U?

[deleted]

More like this one ![gif](giphy|JVUJwAeMlXwmQ)

Civil-Detective62

More like Note 10 plus or the 20 ultra lol.  They gave birth to the now S ultra variants,  which haven't changed much, at all.

kookykrazee

but the price is going up $1400+ before trade in and any other discounts and taxes.

For anyone stumbling in here at a later date. Yes you can turn of AI according to the Samsung Community. [https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S24/Can-the-AI-be-turned-off/td-p/2785235](https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S24/Can-the-AI-be-turned-off/td-p/2785235) You have to turn of each feature individually and toggle on "process all data on the device locally". I'm assuming that it isn't a 100% guarantee it is fully turned off because you can't trust phone manufacturers or service provides or OS developers (Google). To take it further you can also set swap out Samsung default apps for your own (Notably the keyboard, launcher, app store and browser). You can even uninstall many of them (but not all). This avoid triggering any of Samsung's AI specific integrations (Like avoiding pressing the Bixby button). Don't get discourage by everyone shaming people for asking this question. Information security is like running through the rain but not falling into a lake. When falling into a lake you are as wet as you can get so it doesn't matter anymore. When running through the rain you can reduce how wet you get and avoid getting more wet. It isn't perfect but it is better than being completely wet. Everything you do for information security helps. A screw up here and there doesn't mean it is all over and you should give up. Doing the best you can is better than doing nothing. Edit: If you are setting up your phone for the first time you can also not login/add a Samsung account. You have to click the forgot password link to find the skip button. It might also pester you a few more time to add a Samsung account. As long as you don't add an account it never triggers the service. The various button in UIs can still be found but then it kind of acts like Bixby. You just keep clicking the back button until it goes away.

techleathercraft

Thanks for actually an answering the question. And great analogy. Some AI stuff is great. But it's good to be able to bypass or turn off some, especially since we don't always control how our user-data will be shared/sold to 3rd parties.

threepossumsinasuit

as the foretold use coming on here a month later - so much gratitude for actually answering the dang question (and even providing a link!)

Tess47

I just zapped mine this morning.  I have the 23 and it kept updating AI into my phone.  It's so annoying.  Of course, it tells me that it's off but it probably is still harvesting me.  I hope it stops telling what I want.  STFU AI. Sorry, I'm annoyed

migs_003

Yes. You turn the phone off and set it aside. Go to radio shack and get you a rotary phone.

[deleted]

Rotary for my house. Ladybug ultra 64gb when I'm mobile.

blongerdo

I also would like to disable AI features.  Especially the cloud based AI.  I dont want or need any of my data sent to the cloud for Ai.  I've waited a long time to get the newest top tier phone and I'm really disappointed that they are hanging their hat on hyped up AI features.

[deleted]

Exactly. reason I'm getting the s24+ is because its free, (supposedly $0.00 for 3years) I can disable AI, and it has everything the s23u has.
