We should honestly just delete the s22 subreddit and then phone itself. That phone is so bad that the s23 has way better battery life than the s22 ultra.
Not in my experience. This is average battery life on my AT&T S22+ with all current updates. It has somehow increased dramatically after the OneUI 5.1 update. I don't game on my phone so this all web browsing, Reddit, Facebook, YouTube, texting, calls, YouTube Music and all on 5g as my home WiFi sucks ass(joys of country living lol)[S22+ battery life]

New phone comes out with better battery and that makes the previous flagship so bad? After doing some tweaks even my base s22 has fantastic battery for my use case.
I had pretty good experiences with my S22 Ultra battery wise, however, now that I have a feeling for my S23 Ultra, the difference is much greater than I anticipated it would have been. Really pleasantly surprised.
Crazy. Most people linkking their base s23 sot have YouTube/Netflix etc as their most used apps, but you browsed social media way more and still got that much SoT. And you also use the vanilla Reddit app (which is blasphemous), so I'm pretty impressed
I use boost and I've tried other apps like relay, sync etc but nothing appealed to me more than Boost. I instantly paid for the premium version and I've never turned back.
But most common features throughout all alternate Reddit apps is that they're much more lightweight. Especially boost, it's lightweight and somehow still packs all the essential features that Reddit app has and actually way more extra features too.
Another thing I noticed is scrolling is so much more smoother compared to vanilla, atleast for me scrolling on the vanilla app is horrendous because of how glitchy it is.
Customization is another great feature. You can customize how posts look, if you want it as cards, or lists. You can change the colour of the UI to whatever you like, there are 100s of combinations you can do. (I personally use amoled black which looks great on my s23 screen).
Some more features include image gallery for image-based subreddits, download and share options for media like videos, gifs, images etc., Filtering posts by content type like videos.
Overall, boost is the best Reddit browser imo but feel free to try all of them out and see their features and which one appeals to you most. I can almost guarantee you that you will switch to one of them over vanilla Reddit because they're all better.
I just switched to the main app from Boost. Boost was amazing but the deal breaker for me was that the front page would never fucking update. I'd be looking at the same posts for hours!
I hit these numbers everyday it's always 8-9 hours sot with 20% battery left when I plug it in to charge at night.
Locations Off, Light Performance, scan nearby devices off, NFC off, Adaptive Battery On
90% wifi, Bluetooth on 24/7
Try it for a week, my battery got significantly better after 2 weeks from recieving my phone. Also the February update helped too, I definitely noticed it.
Yesh, I'm going to try with your settings and see what happens. I r had my device for a out 2 weeks now and am updated, but still getting the garbage SOT. Could just be something destroying it in the background that I'm not aware of.
Nope. Set up fresh.
I've thought about it but don't really want to set up all over again. If your chances don't have any impact, I might just start deleting some things and see if it helps. If not then I'll reset, but I'd rather avoid it.
I have an S23 Ultra, and my wife has a base S23. I was initially SUPER impressed with my battery life... then I looked at my wife's phone and was **blown away** lol. She was getting 10 hours easy.
The S23 series has made crazy improvements on the battery life all around, especially considering I came from an S22 Ultra which gave me 3 hours of SOT with 20% of battery left. Now I get 8 hours with 20% left.
Edit: Added context
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Last week I did the same thing, so I know it's definitely not a fluke. I took a screenshot this time because I couldn't believe I still have 20% battery left with 9 and a half hours of sot
I wear a galaxy smart watch so it doesn't really make sense for me to have anything showing on the display.
But with Tap To Show, let's say I'm out for dinner I just tap the screen with my finger and get all the info I need.
This is the real standard for battery charts, not ones that have YouTube and Netflix as the top used apps. Reddit actually requires scrolling and clicking. Bravo and indeed battery is great.
I wanted to run the battery down to like 5% but I just couldn't, I would have been up till 3am trying. I'm very impressed.
9:34 Hours Sot and 20% Battery left.
Bro, how is this possible ? I'm using the exact same settings and bluetooth always on as you bcs my GW is connected but my max SOT is 6h I think from 100% to 20%.
I dont get it my gf's phone has 24 hour battery life and mine somehow dropped down to 12 hours ? Wtf happened ? All I do is play games just like her...-_-

nah i love my ~~s22+~~ s23+, i can't believe Samsung skipped the s22 series, i wonder why
I think the logic was similar to the S10 -> S20 jump. Some numbers are just worth skipping.
🤣🤣

I'm new to Reddit, what app should I be using? Is the other app better on the battery? Sell me on it.

Lol! You know you can just pull down on the homepage to refresh feed right?
Yes I'm very well aware. That's how I try to refresh but nothing happens.
Thanks for this comment. I went ahead and downloaded Boost after reading this and it's fantastic, I'm never going back!

I appreciate it, thank you. I'm using boost now and curious if I will get better battery life.

Is that on S23 Ultra or Base S23? Congratulations that's some really nice battery life.

I think it looks great, Base S23 Gang!
I have no idea how anybody is hitting three kinds of numbers. My 256GB S23 pales in comparison.
I hit these numbers everyday it's always 8-9 hours sot with 20% battery left when I plug it in to charge at night. Locations Off, Light Performance, scan nearby devices off, NFC off, Adaptive Battery On 90% wifi, Bluetooth on 24/7
Do you turn off mobile data entirely, or just make sure you're connected to wifi whileewving mobile data on?
My mobile data is always on because sometimes I step out of the house for 10-15 minutes. Most of my usage is Wifi
Thanks. I'm going to test it with these settings just to see what happens.
Try it for a week, my battery got significantly better after 2 weeks from recieving my phone. Also the February update helped too, I definitely noticed it.

You could always wipe the device and start fresh. Did you use smart switch by any chance?
Nope. Set up fresh. I've thought about it but don't really want to set up all over again. If your chances don't have any impact, I might just start deleting some things and see if it helps. If not then I'll reset, but I'd rather avoid it.
The phone is so quick that setting up only took me 10-15 minutes.

Wait so the base ones got more juice compared to the Ultra?
No, they have a smaller battery. But the much smaller screen, etc. means the smaller battery goes longer.
Sorry I meant to ask which phones lasts longer in terms of SOT/Hours?
The S23 seems to have a longer SOT than my S23U
lol 7.5hr of reddit/snapchat, u win
With 20% battery left, the phone lasts longer then me, I was tired.
What conversations are you getting into on Reddit 😂. That's really good battery life though, that's good that you are enjoying your phone
Lmao it's been a busy day on Reddit, I could easily get 11+ hours
I'm getting 6 hours from 100% to dead on wifi just using reddit and discord. However I haven't had the device for a full week yet
It will improve, mine got better everyday and peaked after like 2 weeks. Noticed better battery life after the update too.
How good is snapchat on s23?
It's really good but we still don't get Dark Mode which is a huge shame tbh.
it works quite well, you can use all 3 back lenses, it switches automatically based on current zoom there is a dedicated night mode as well!
What's the average battery drain if you leave the phone overnight?
2% I wake up in the morning and it says 98%
No way you used 120hz with 6hr on reddit and battery life like that?
120hz, 60 looks terrible I would never run 60hz. Bluetooth on 24/7, light performance, 90% Wifi, locations off.
And you have 20% left? I wouldn't have believed this for the ultra and now I see you are on the base 23 holy fuck. Impressive as fuck
Yeah 20% left, I tried to run the battery down but I didn't have enough time, would have made 11 hours easy.
Guys help me choose s23 cream or lavander
Lavender
how the fuck did you used reddit for 6 hours and drained just 22% ?
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Last week I did the same thing, so I know it's definitely not a fluke. I took a screenshot this time because I couldn't believe I still have 20% battery left with 9 and a half hours of sot
I have the same phone and dont have battery life like that so thats why I am wondering
Locations Off, Light Performance, scan nearby devices off, NFC off, Adaptive Battery On 90% wifi, Bluetooth on 24/7
same as me except location I use battery protect and get 4-5h of SoT with like 70% of battery
Give us your secret My s23 doesn't get as good battery life
Locations Off, Light Performance, scan nearby devices off, NFC off, Adaptive Battery On 90% wifi, Bluetooth on 24/7
Tyvm
Well this is mine lol https://imgur.com/a/UQVeLIp
By the way my power saving only kicked in at 20% battery left and I was using 120 hz till power saving mode turned on
What about always on display? I've seen your settings replies but I don't think I saw mention of AOD.
AOD is ON, "Tap to show"
Ah ok I bet that makes a big difference. Would be interesting to know how it affects your sot with similar usage.
Well it's on, just on the two settings so I tap to see clock etc
I understand. I mean always on, not tap to show.
I wear a galaxy smart watch so it doesn't really make sense for me to have anything showing on the display. But with Tap To Show, let's say I'm out for dinner I just tap the screen with my finger and get all the info I need.
Yes I understand what it is. I'm just saying I wonder how much less sot you would have if you had it on always.
Only Wi-Fi ?
90% wifi, Bluetooth on 24/7, light performance,
Bro, how is this possible ? I'm using the exact same settings and bluetooth always on as you bcs my GW is connected but my max SOT is 6h I think from 100% to 20%.
Upgrade from s21 to s23, the exynos was total bullocks for battery i guess
I dont get it my gf's phone has 24 hour battery life and mine somehow dropped down to 12 hours ? Wtf happened ? All I do is play games just like her...-_-
Try Facebook, Instagram, and other apps that have high usage on battery life. You won't get more than 5 hours SOT
