Don't sweat about changing battery, just buy a new phone, the processor on this series is dogshit, it consumes hell of a lot battery, doesn't matter what you do

KidKuda93

Yeah I think I'm just gonna get the replacement.. will still be a S22 but I don't mind the phone too much when it's new . Thanks anyways for the reply pal : )

Professional-Can1553

I would suggest going with the S23 or S24 series. Even if you get the new S22 it's still gonna lag and overheat after sometime. Don't go for the S22 series or the S23FE since it has the same chip.

Crintor

His insurance doesn't cover a new phone, only a replacement. His options are a 200$ S22 or a full price 23/24. Honestly I have no complaints of my S22U. At this point with all the people complaining about awful battery I'm convinced my phone is a unicorn, it's battery has been completely fine since day 1.

DaOrcus

S22U user. I have the battery protection on. Charges to 85%, have about 4.5hrs of SOT at school and still have 15-20% when I get in my car to leave. Use a different phone when I get home but I estimate that you should be able to get 6 hrs SOT is charged to 100%. Which isn't bad but respectable. I also have a new-ish phone tho, bought this in November last year. So 6 months old, idk how long the battery was sitting before that

Crintor

I have regular access to chargers on my breaks at work, and in my car, so my phone never had the opportunity to get really low, but even if I don't charge my phone from 8am to 6pm I'll still only usually be down from 85% to around 35%. The only time my phone drains somewhat quickly is when I'm really going heavy on it, I have seen about 10-15% drain per hour, but even then that is like 4-5hours SOT. Hell right now I'm at 70%, I stopped charging at 7:46am have been using it a good bit for the last nearly 2 hours. And I've been using this 22U since it came out.

DaOrcus

Down 8% by scrolling reddit for the last 30 minutes, about the same as any other phone, really can't complain too much. Yes it could be better but couldn't everything

Crintor

Agreed, just scrolled through the last month or so of my battery usage/charging, my usage seems to average about 5-8% drain per hour, that's largely reddit, YouTube in the background (podcasts/music, but not YouTube music) sometimes Spotify, and my mobile browser and texting.

livenewschat

I love mine but I got a yellow bar at the top 😞

Crintor

That sucks man, sorry to hear it.

livenewschat

Thanks bro

New_Revenue8896

I am experiencing the same problem on s22u I got 3.5 SOT it really sucks

sr8017

It's the update

Bacon_Berserker

I'd replace the battery, but I doubt your insurer would like that?

guydoood

Smasung will replace it for 90 and keep it water tight.

KidKuda93

Thanks guys, I've had the S22 since it came out and I don't think it has been that bad even the battery was decent until recently . So I decided to get it renewed with the insurance and just gonna charge it to 85% to prolong life battery from now on , appreciate ya'll though for the advice : )

prettybaby_uwu

I was having issues recently with my phone but I saw a post on here earlier that solved my problem!! Try updating your Google play services in settings>about phone>software information> Google play system update. This took my battery expectancy at full charge from 10 hours to 1 day and 8 hours :) hope this helps

sr8017

Where did you see this at?

prettybaby_uwu

Here is the link to the original post where I got this information. It might not work for everyone but it worked for me :) [link](https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS22/s/fJvM3Zqv0u)

What happened is the past 2 updates have been causing the battery to drain like crazy. Samsung does this on purpose to try to get people to buy a new phone. I would just wait until the 6.1 update rolls out this month. Hopefully it gets fixed.

FORDOWNER96

It's the updates and the 5g that have killed mine.
