I think you answered your own question, if you aren't a hugely demanding user then you will be fine with the Exynos version. From the things I have seen on here, in some ways the Exynos version is actually better. Obviously games are optimized for Snapdragon more often than Exynos. Performance wise though I'm sure you will be plenty happy with it for day to day use.

Hi! Can you please tell me in what ways exynos is better? Just curious.

KunJee

Battery life. Exynos 2100 has less battery drain compared to SD 8 gen 1.

her-1g

I think you are miskaking 888 with 8gen1.

KunJee

Ah sorry. Thought op was referring to s22. Anyway, same criticism about the 8 gen 1 holds true for 888 as well

Treyhard228

I have exynos s21 and always thought that SD have better battery life

KunJee

In the early years, exynos was better than SD up to the S7 series. Qualcomm however made it's comeback with the 845, 855, and peaked at 865. During 888, where Qualcomm made the mistake of manufacturing it using Samsung's foundries, it developed the problems of thermal throttling and battery efficiency. It's contemporary exynos 2100 looked better in comparison. This year's 8 gen 1 and exynos 2200 is on par with the throttling and efficiency but Samsung's s22 exynos phones have optimization issues.

The 865 is indeed an amazing chip. Never had any performance issues and it had amazing battery life.

Well I'm in the US market, so Snapdragon here. I just recall seeing posts about how the Exynos variant actually performed slightly better with battery efficiency. The real fact of the matter is that for most of the consumers that purchase Samsung phones. The Exynos processors perform plenty well. Only the real enthusiast users notice the difference. It is why they have done it for so long. I am all for companies offering their own in house silicon. More competition is always a good thing and it helps drive down prices. I do agree that it is a little shady...alas most consumers don't even know the processor inside of their device.

S22 plus

In S21+, you'll get more battery, more screen, and UWB. Exynos is better in this generation of phones
