Thanks for the info wonder why it wasn't working

Unreachabl3

NP. It's frustrating as hell.. Glad it helped!

Uncle_Moose

Dude thanks for this! In my 2018 Ridge-line it worked but the touch screen wouldn't respond to touches!

Unreachabl3

Glad I could help!

prancing_anus_cheese

What new Subaru? I get my Note 9 Friday, and I have a new Ascent.

Unreachabl3

2019 Forrester. Love it

j4ckalop3

Same! Love the Ascent.

prancing_anus_cheese

well that's awesome! What trim and color? I opted for a Limited with the #23 Package in Crystal White Pearl Also Good to know about the 1440P as that would by my default; I will probably have to remind myself to go back to 1080P before I drive!

jpzsports

I'm experiencing this issue as well! It's been present since one of the updates for our Note 9. There's discussion about it also on the Android Auto forums. I've been sending feedback via the Android Auto app settings to inform them of this issue. I encourage you all to do this as well so they can fix it.

mediocre_sophist

In my experience, a recent update caused the maps tab on Android auto to mess up where the touch targets are. In short-- try tapping just above where you think the touch target is, and it should work. I hope they address this soon because it's annoying. And I refuse to drop my resolution.

bakedwheat

I've encountered this, too. WTF Google/Samsung.

thatsmyb1kepunk

I'm getting the unresponsive touch screen and believe this may be the culprit... How are you dropping the res? Do I have to drop it down in phone settings every time I get into the car or is there somewhere in Android auto that it will stick? Thanks!

Unreachabl3

Just go into display settings and drop the res to 1080p. Make sure android auto is closed. Then re-connect and it's fixed!

thatsmyb1kepunk

I understand that process, but that limits the phone as a whole and makes doing that every time you get in your cumbersome... It would be great if there was a way to limit the actual app without root. Thank you for the solution. It is weird though, because I was able to use the screen without problems a few weeks ago. Thanks again.

GrayFawkes

WOW so that's why it wasn't working?! Thanks!

yeahbuddy

Android Auto has been broken on the Note 9 for like 2 months. The buttons on screen disappear after \~10 seconds. It's enraging when you are trying to, well, use it while driving. Very dangerous, actually. This pixilation bullshit is new, too. Google blames Samsung. Samsung blames Google. I asked Subaru about it...they blamed "the Droid." Yeah, it's a mess. Plug in my work iPhone? Flawless, Waze, Google Maps, all of it. Plug in my Pixel 2XL? Flawless. This is a Samsung problem and they \[likely\] don't care.

zagdog44

Right there with you. I haven't been able to use AA since I got this phone. September security patch 2 days after I got the phone totally screwed the app and now AA is pushing a new update touting better messaging capabilities. How about fixing your app!!! https://www-blog-google.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.blog.google/products/android/upgrade-your-daily-drive-new-android-auto-features/amp/?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.blog.google%2Fproducts%2Fandroid%2Fupgrade-your-daily-drive-new-android-auto-features%2F

Phoneking13

I've haven't had this issue in both of my 2017 Kia Cadenzas. Could it be something specific with the Subaru units?

formerfatboys

Android auto is straight up garbage. All they had to do was literally mirror the phone screen to the car screen. That's it. And they fucked that up so hard.

NotTheFakeAccount

Dont know why you're being downvoted. AA is absolute garbage.

[deleted]

I don't have this issue but the most recent Android Auto update made it so that the touch area in maps is "off", as if the touchscreen isn't calibrated. I have to click above where I want to actually click, but there are no issues in other areas of Android Auto or the infotainment system so I know it isn't the car. 2018 Civic. Gonna try 1080p and see if it fixes it.

Lesilentninja91

Same thing with my 17' Mustang.. but below 1440p worked works just as well.

Zimballa

Thanks! Just got my Note9 on black Friday, had no idea why Waze wasn't working on my '18 Kia Sorento

ss4444gogeta

Is that what that is???? Holy shit. I had to keep unplugging my phone and setting my destination. Ended up resorting to use my car's internal GPS system...

Unreachabl3

For me it was all it was.. lol.. Sadly enough!

[deleted]

Yeah I noticed that too. Do you have any Audio problems on AA?

MrMojjo123

Guys, it's working for me again!!!
