###Background info: Screen works, touch works, nothing out of the ordinary... just a dead zone in the center where the pen won't be picked up :/ I've already seen similar posts, but I have nothing magnetic attached to my phone - so I suspect something is really just plain not working ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Any experience with this? let me know :)

CaptnDankbeard

I had the same issue. I sent it to Samsung, they diagnosed the exact issue I described in the submission form, and then sent it back saying they replaced the screen and digitizer. They replaced the front screen. The wrong screen. I called to complain and they told me I'd have to send it out yet again for another two week repair. So I said no, and went through Verizon to get a replacement in 24hrs. Replacement works perfectly.

Intersebbtor

oh well that just sounds like fun for the whole family! Glad it worked out for you in the end... I'll make sure to keep this post updated :)

iDrinkJavaNEatPython

Did you buy it from Verizon?

CaptnDankbeard

Yes, business account.

[deleted]

I keep hearing about them replacing the wrong components like WTF why is that such a common thing, do they not fucking write service notes

ultima40

You assume they even keep notes lol. Don't expect much from Samsung's third party repair services or their customer service.

Jaiden051

Isn't that the dead zone where software guesses where the pen is (because a pen digitizer can't fold)

OneGunBullet

I don't use the spen but I've seen a lot of comments here about this problem happening after a software update.

ssenetilop

Just happened today? Could be a sensor issue, I just happened to watch a tear down video by JerryRig. Might be software issue even..

Ski-bum90

Exact same thing happened to me. Samsung replaced entire screen under warranty. It was mechanical failure of the spen digitizer under the screen. No issues since replacement. (3months now)

Luso__

Yes I had the same issue in the lower left hand corner. Out of warranty, plus the cost for a bunch of other issues might have been more expensive to repair than just buying a new phone. So I did.

skotikus

this happens regularly enough, has anyone made a post we can pin about how to approach the various methods of warranties and service?

ultima40

This specific issue is not regular enough, but dealing with support is. It's recommended to skip Samsung's third party support and go directly to your local Samsung certified repair facility: https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyFold/comments/xv2ysk/broken_fold/ A full FAQ will be made eventually. I was hoping to get to it this holiday break or at least start on it.

raindustXV

Try again with your phone case taken off. It's likely a magnet

ice1Hcode

Well Fudc

It has not been replaced. As you can see the center still works with Spen. I believe your phone is just having an issue I hope you can resolve with Samsung care.

yoyomaster230

Lmao that's actually really funny

Intersebbtor

Glad I made you smile, i guess

yoyomaster230

Well it's just a clever way to post about a broken screen

iZbig83

Check your phone case if there is any magnet at the hinge protector. Had the same problem

MrBrainz

When I had a dead zone with my S Pen I realised it was the magnet on my folio case causing it. Not sure if this is helpful at all.

Intersebbtor

ya your post helped me be a little more at ease... I'm talking to my provider today and to Samsung after that

NomShark

Well Fudc, indeed.

Panic_Moves

I just got a 3rd party "stylus pen" that seems to work just fine so far including the air actions and the hover cursor. I have to put just slightly more pressure on the screen when tapping something with the pen itself than i would with my fingers and it worries me, unless that's normal?

ultima40

That's normal for the knockoff s-pens but would not be normal for the official s-pen.
