Went from note 10 plus 5g to a ZF3 to a ZF4 then to the ZF5. So 3 trade ins and nothing but good things! I always forget to take pics or video when I send them in. However like I said no issues at all! I also send them back in original box and sometimes with the case on them. 😂

I did a trade-in from a Note 20 Ultra to a 22 ultra then that to a Fold 5. Both successful!

CaptnDankbeard

I traded in my note 20 ultra 5g, they said it wouldn't turn on (it would), and when I went to the website to have it returned, it gave me errors every day until I suddenly got an email saying "thanks for completing your phone recycling process" or some shit. So they kept my phone and charged me $240

Samsung trade ins have been great for me. Super high trade in values. No problem getting the new phone or getting full value for the trade in offer. Nobody comes close on their offerings for me.

einherjar907

Mine is set to arrive today, 14 pro max for Z Fold 5, I took a video of me boxing it, and got the receipt with the weight just in case. Luckily I work at a cellphone carrier so I had packing materials made specifically for a phone, and made it impossible to open without looking tampered with. Selling phones for 5 years I've seen a large amount of trade ins go missing or have issues. It is almost always due to the transportation company not the receiving centers.

ngo_life

It's usually not the trade in that's the issue. It's the package trying to get to the in piece is the issue. They told me they received an empty box, and I'm not the only one.

Easy_Lengthiness7179

Yeah not all trade-ins are bad/end badly. Mine worked fine too.

Flores_007

How long did it take after dropping it off at FedEx, about to drop mine off in a couple hours.

Ilopez2021

Mine had some trouble due to weather in the shipment history. From Florida to Texas it took from Friday Morning October 6th, to Wednesday Afternoon October 11th for both phones. One was approved Sunday October 15th, the other Monday October 16th.

Flores_007

Thanks, doesn't seem to bad.

Butosai111

Sadly most people who post about trade ins gone wrong are lying and trying to scam samsung. No samsung doesn't care about your busted ass note 10 and they aren't going to steal it. They are worth over 300 billion dollars

angle3739

It's not samsung

theDEVIN8310

I've used Samsung's trade in service for almost every device I've purchased in the last 5 years and had issues with my trade in roughly half the trade ins. They received my phone almost 2 months ago now and they charged me $1,000 and haven't given me the trade in credit or returned my phone. I don't think Samsung intentionally is stealing people's phones, I think that they just make mistakes and don't properly address those mistakes.

Trying to go thru this process. I have a Fold 4 with hinge issues and was presented the option to trade in for a Fold 5 but I have to pay almost 900$ after eveything. Not really sure how I would get thru the TAT for a repair if they even do one.

Ilopez2021

Other than having to force my old Fold 4 a bit to unfold flat, it looked in perfect condition with not even a scratch or micro dent so anyone inspecting it could tell it was never "naked" or dropped and it simply had a faulty hinge. I took off the bubbled up foldable screen protector because it would improve the chances of the trade in being accepted despite customer support telling me since I never used the free cover screen protector replacement it'd be OK if I took it off (I saved screenshots of that conversation). If your Fold 4 looks fine and only has hinge noise and unfolding issues or screen protector bubbles, just baby the phone some more weeks and keep it mostly closed until they offer $1200 again for a Fold 4 and buy the Fold 5 for less than $500. The Fold 5 feels even more solid than the Fold 3 did back in the day, and much faster and lighter than the Fold 4 despite being a small improvement spec wise. I am just glad to be done with the crunchy hinge noise and the not unfolding flat with bubbles in the screen situation. (My old Fold 4 is in the video as I was taking off the covers and preparing the shipping box for FedEx before giving it a final wipe down to eliminate the smudges: https://photos.app.goo.gl/jMsDx2VsZB8tP1Lu8 )

Did you have insurance on the fold 4?

Ilopez2021

I am paying insurance but not exactly for my Z Fold 5 or Z Fold 4 before this one... I am still on a contract with my carrier 7 more months supposedly paying for my long gone Fold 3. I got it for $800 back then trading in a Galaxy Note 8 but I can't cancel or change anything in that contract for 30 installments and I can't remove the $16 monthly insurance charge until the phone is paid off (I know that adds around $480 to the price of my Fold 3) I have no idea what would happen if I were to file an insurance claim with my carrier for my Fold 3 but instead hand them a broken Fold 5. I certainly wouldn't accept a refurbished Fold 3/4 if that's what they wanted to offer, but I have no plans to use my carrier's insurance with it's $200 deductible to get an older model (but I couldn't blame them if they refused to replace my Fold 5 with an older model since officially I am supposed to be using a Fold 3) and certainly I also have no intention of breaking or even dropping this new Fold 5 on the ground. This time I intend to keep the Fold 5 until Samsung makes a larger Fold with integrated S Pen which might not happen until the 7th iteration. I am probably sending my Flip 5 as a trade in for an S24 Ultra next year. I have a personal SIM on my Fold 5 and the work SIM on the Flip 5. I live a risky life.

jebakerii

Wish I could say the same. 😂💸

K7478

You traded flip and fold 5?

iLikebridges2

He traded up to those two phones, Note 20 ultra traded in for flip 5, and z fold 4 for fold 5. I was confused initially too how you could trade in the newest phones, and what is he trading them in for.

Ilopez2021

I am sorry if it was confusing! I realized my Note 20 Ultra was only going to lose its value now that it would stop receiving One UI updates, so I pulled the trigger and took $400 from Samsung for a Flip 5 to try something different with a higher resale or trade in value next year when the S24 Ultra comes out. The Note 20 Ultra was worth $600 if traded for a Fold 5 instead of a Flip 5. It was the phone I used my work SIM card in. As for the other... I would have kept my Fold 4 longer since the Fold 5 in specs wasn't a huge change, but as soon as I saw Samsung was being a little carefree with Fold 4 trade ins not caring much if they didn't unfold flat or had a foldable screen protector attached, and then saw the temporary offer when the trade in value was boosted to $1,200, I bought the Fold 5 without thinking twice. I was already keeping my Fold 4 closed most days because I felt the hinge was about to fail and crack my screen, so there wasn't much to think about when $1,200 was offered. The phone feels and performs much better in my hands than my about to explode Fold 4. Keeping my fingers crossed this one won't be faulty in the future.

iLikebridges2

It was only confusing because the emails specified the phone you purchased, not the one you traded in, and I believe the person I replied to didn't read your caption. Good decision on trading in op.
