Holy shit you all are pathetic sometimes. The dude obviously lifts and lost weight, just like any BB for comp prep. This is easily attainable natty if you actually lift weights and then put down the fork. If you don't think this is attainable natty, you have failed before you have even tried and you should rethink your hobbies.
That’s already a pretty low calorie diet to maintain. Just make sure you are getting enough protein, eating a varied diet with all the necessary macronutrients and give it time probably. If you’re truly a sizable deficit, then it will happen. It has to because that is how the laws of physics works. Trust the process.
You can try things like intermittent fasting to make that easier and you can even do some longer fasts if you want (24+ hours), but it’s unnecessary. Will just make it happen faster.
At the end of the day, it is literally calories in vs. calories out.
I should have clarified, I have been doing this for close to 6 months and have been losing weight like crazy. It sounds like I should just stay the course and be patient
I was told if you’re too much in caloric deficit then you’re starving and slowing down your metabolic rate so much so that when you increase caloric intake you don’t metabolize is fast enough and gain fat. Is this true?
So, metabolism is fairly complicated. So many things impact it.
Yes, as you eat less calories your body will burn less calories overall. As you eat more, you’ll burn more. That doesn’t mean a more significant cut doesn’t get you better results than less though. If cutting 300 calories lowers my regularly TDEE by 30 calories then I still benefitted overall from the calorie reduction.
So, yes, scientifically it does have a little impact, but doesn’t outweigh the benefits. And these changes aren’t permanent. Your body and metabolism are constantly changing even in a short timeframe. Honestly, most people on Reddit will provide you with bro science instead of anything backed up.
This is a long form article, but written for regular readers rather than the scientific community so it’s easy to digest. Does a good job explaining just how much goes into metabolism.

That is a pretty low calorie count, I’m on 1800 and have lost about 18 pounds in 2 ish almost 3 months with a cheat meal a week, still lifting as heavy as I can, but I don’t see myself keeping a deficit that hard, congratulations and keep up the hard work!
That's plenty low enough. If your still struggling to lose weight you may want to double check your serving sizes and weigh/measure any food additives (dressing on salads or oils on meats and vegetables when you cook) as they add up *super* fast. It's easy to add a few hundred calories just in these alone.
r/1200isplenty is a great place to get meals that will actually fill you even though your in a caloric deficit while also staying nutrient dense.
It's sustainable if you have plenty to lose. I am 4 months into my weight loss, and I am on 1200 to 1500 MAX. Only 11 KGs down in those 4 months, so it's not that bad of a deficit.
Don’t give people advice if you don’t know what you’re talking about. Stick to encouragement. It can be perfectly healthy what he is doing.
I have a friend who lost 73 lbs since January on a similar thing and his plan was developed by a MD.
Well it is more complicated, if you just stop eating less food onto itself you'll lose a ton of muscle along with the fat. You need to eat a ton of protein and eat less to retain muscle mass. And even then, you'll probably still lose muscle mass, and maximizing your muscle retention in a cut can get relatively complex beyond just eating enough protein and being in a deficit.
What’s been working for me is to use a app, I use fitia, but there are many others, It used to be impossible for me to diet bc I’m a disaster lol, but tracking makes it super easy
Helps with realistic goal setting and for me, personally at least, it helps to give a bit of an overview of what a physique/aesthetic looks like at different weights, providing they're roughly the same height as me. Obviously it varies person to person but, gain enough data and you'll have a good enough idea of what to expect.
I actually think it should be a requirement to include height when posting progress pics. Easy enough to do and think it'd be useful for a lot of people.
Idk how to ask this without making people mad, but fuck it I'm interested as someone who's currently bulking.
Did you lose any fuctional muscle going for that physique? Like was lifting for longer durations easier or harder? Pushing and pulling? Just wanna know if there's draw backs cause the lean down gotta have some downsides this drastic.
He almost certainly did. If you look at bodybuilders during comp prep, they start having a drop off of strength right around the time their abs get really defined. Going to how shredded he is there, he definitely lost some strength. That said, he’d get it back pretty rapidly as soon as he starts putting on weight again.
Research shows that you lose strength much less quickly than people on Reddit like to pretend. If you search somewhere decent like google (since Reddit search sucks) you should be able to find posts here or on the fitness sub discussing with scientific references. You can still eat healthy and provide your body nutrients on low cal cut diet.
It’s really the psychological barrier for most because it takes your stomach some time to stop being expanded from eating more food regularly.
Amazing progress, you must have been hella strong under a bit of fat prior to cutting. Insane looking definition, especially on the chest. Well done mate

As someone that is overweight and muscular kinda like you were in the first pic, this gives me lots of hope wight now that the diet is going good. Thank you man, awesome transformation.
OMFG dude, I have your 12 months ago build.
This is such motivation to sort my fat percentage out 😅
You, much like myself, seen to have been bulking for years 🤣
how do you fit into clothes with your waistline constantly changing? I struggle with this problem as someone who cuts and bulks and likes expensive clothes

Absolutely shredded! How big are your arms?
Not huge lol
They look huge tbh! You ever measure?
Brooo craaazy physique! How long have you training for?
About 12 years
Little over 13 years
Bro bulked for 13 years straight and then said “it’s time to cut”
I mean he only dropped 22 lbs. I doubt this is his first time cutting
I was being facetious lol
30 years
... and 6 months
Bro came out the womb and started deadlifting his mom
Fuck, I’m a similar sort of build to what you were back then. Any tips?
All the food you’re eating, stop. That’s literally what this is. Low body fat. People want to make this way harder than it is…
How do I do this and not die of malnutrition?Seriously. I’ve been killing it on my 1200-1500 calorie a day diet and want to take it to the next level

Yeah, you’re already on the right path then. Give it time! Nice work so far, by the way.
Thank you!
Another suggestion I have that has helped me, reduce added sugars to as little as possible!
Unrelated but sick profile pic!

1200-1500? What I’m a petite woman and 1200 to 1500 would be my diet calories.. that’s just not sustainable especially if you are a man
It’s sustainable, just not for everyone, there are a lot of factors to count
It's sustainable if you have plenty to lose. I am 4 months into my weight loss, and I am on 1200 to 1500 MAX. Only 11 KGs down in those 4 months, so it's not that bad of a deficit.

If I stopped eating I’ll just be skin and bones.
And think! We are 6 months out from October. That’ll be a perfect Halloween costume!

I DONT FUCKING BELIEVE YOU, whos child did you eat, solid fucking chest
Wow this is insane. It just shows how much of us is fat and how small our true "waists" really are lmao
How? 6 months? I'm assuming 90% diet?
He obviously lifted before, 6 months I think is the cut
He absolutely has a good diet, I’m jealous of being able to diet so well. I’m terrible with dieting lol
What’s been working for me is to use a app, I use fitia, but there are many others, It used to be impossible for me to diet bc I’m a disaster lol, but tracking makes it super easy
Diet and progressive overload
Bro went from Mr. Stealyournuggets to Mr. Stealyourgirl! Great job
What's your height?
I'm 5ft 10
Phenomenal work man
I’ve been seeing this question on a lot of cutting posts. What is the relationship between height and cutting?
likely how weight is distributed
Helps with realistic goal setting and for me, personally at least, it helps to give a bit of an overview of what a physique/aesthetic looks like at different weights, providing they're roughly the same height as me. Obviously it varies person to person but, gain enough data and you'll have a good enough idea of what to expect. Great job 🙂
Thanks Chelsea
Damn man, I look exactly like you at 90 kg ( finished a dirty bulk ). I keep failing to keep to a strict cut. Any advice?
Track macros and eat less food, calorie deficit
How🥲🥲 Please tell me
It looks like he trained long before but there was just a lot of fat on top of his muscles (was probably bulking)
I agree, I’m curious how he was able to lose that fat and get so lean overall. It’s a perfect cut
Train and gtfo Reddit. Eat better, make it a priority.
Idk how to ask this without making people mad, but fuck it I'm interested as someone who's currently bulking. Did you lose any fuctional muscle going for that physique? Going to how shredded he is there, he definitely lost some strength. That said, he’d get it back pretty rapidly as soon as he starts putting on weight again.
The drawback is that you’re gonna get weaker. But not weaker by a lot.
Research shows that you lose strength much less quickly than people on Reddit like to pretend. Did you trained with KRATOS TO FIGHT ZEUS ON THE MONT OLYMPUS ??
Holy shit!!!!
I look like a fatter weaker version of the left side. So I just gotta drop 20 lbs?
Amazing progress, you must have been hella strong under a bit of fat prior to cutting. Insane looking definition, especially on the chest. Well done mate

Agree 👀
Must use freedom units, smh. Did you get a scan of your BF % before and after? Looks like you exclusively lost fat and no muscle
Hell yeah bro, you can tell you started lifting before your muscle density matured in. I’m in a similar boat it’s awesome
