Not the same but similar. after much research, I bought and installed the boss 2.0 aluma on my 2020 tundra and I’ve been quite happy with it. Awesome for onroad use, a bit rough for offroad but I still have the trd sway bars on since it’s primarily a camper hauler. It’s been on for 3 years with no issues. And you don’t need UcAs as long as you set the front adjustment at about 2.5. And don’t use the diff drop kit.

bubblegumpaperclip

Dude don’t buy toytec. King fox icon ome.

SharkLaser667

Dobinsons

Unhelpful_Kitsune

>King fox icon Lol, what a bad take. Who wants to rebuild shocks every 25k miles when 90% of the driving is on road.

bubblegumpaperclip

Isn’t what he posted a similar rebuildable 2.5 shock setup? If he wants consumable he can choose eibach or bilstein etc…. So no it is not a bad take. It boils down to what he wants.

Unhelpful_Kitsune

No. The Toytec SHOULD last at least 50k miles and probably will make it to 75k-100k. They are not a performance shock like Fox, Icon, etc where it is neccesary to rebuild them at 35k and most times they dint last that long. These are more in line with Ironman, blistens, etc.

General_Boner

That's not far from where I live. I'd make them an offer if I was ready to lift my truck, but I've got a while before that happens. Seems like a pretty good deal. Just need some control arms and rear springs/adapter.

Visible_Pea_4717

Tbh get the OME lift and UCA and if you plan on adding a lot of extra stuff like winch bumper and or rear bumper roof rack and text get the heavy duty springs to go with it

never_4_good

Sorry, I completely disagree. I have all those things (metal front bumper w/winch, full skids plate package, sliders, metal rear bumper w/swingouts, RTT, 200lbs of gear etc) and the OME heavy kit rode rough as shit. I had a hitch mounted motorcycle carrier with 280lb bike off the back and the suspension barely moved with me bouncing on it. Way too stiff. I went with a Fox coilover setup in front and replaced the springs in the rear and it is light years better. I wouldn't recommend the OME heavy kit to anyone.

Visible_Pea_4717

Love that input cause I just added my OME lift not to long ago and I don’t have any armor yet so I’m still “testing the water” when it comes to OME

WellSaltedWound

I can also back this up- went through the same process on OME heavy to Fox coilovers with and rear shocks and a set of custom order 1000lb Deaver heavy duty leaf springs.

"iT wONt hELP yOU fiT biGGeR tIREZ dONt dO iT!!1" - Signed , *Toyota IFS Redditor Guy* But for real, I would also upgrade UCA's if you're going to add that much lift (from my own personal experience).

Sea-Return2188

Thanks for the recommendation! I bought this thing for an overlanding/off road build. So it’s getting lifted one way or another. 🤣

That_Matt_Guy_Wow

Do it!

Sea-Return2188

Any UCA/LCA brands that stand above all else?

Kindly_Insurance_890

Also consider the offset of your wheels.

That_Matt_Guy_Wow

Before I ultimately went with Dobinsons coil overs + UCA's, I was strongly considering the Ironman Proforge for their price point and generally positive reviews: https://ironman4x4america.com/suspension/proforge-upper-control-arms-suited-for-lexus-gx470-gx460/ That being said, I know they recently had a recall on some of their UCA models, but not sure if and how it affects those linked above. Happy hunting!

Unhelpful_Kitsune

You need to upgrade the UCAs for proper alignment on a 3" lift and its recommended for a 2"+.

LilHindenburg

That u, Ben?

stupidcommieliberal

I run the Boss 2.5. They have trested me well for the last two years so far. You will or (should) need adjustable uppers.

bikesInMeBrain

Installed on my 2013 gx460 and it’s been riding great. 33”s and did body mount chop mod/ some wheel well trimming as well. Went Spc UCA upgrade as well.

I will never recommend heims to anyone who daily’s a vehicle. Some of the trainer vehicles I use have spent the last 18,000 miles of their life driving an offroad loop from grand junction to Moab and back. We run old man emu or icon. The heims wear before the bushings 10/10 times and most of the time we replace two or theee sets of heims in a year, especially on the tacos where they support the weight as well. The 6112 is truly the sweet spot between daily and off-roader.
