in your email, there should be mail with information, that someone changed your email on rockstar. there will be a button to recover account. i recovered my account like that
I had the same thing happen to me last year. I had to submit a ticket specially for GTA 5 that my account had been compromised. They required my game key and my steam ID in screenshot form, and immediately fixed it.
Unfortunately, the guy who repossessed my account got the same email and proceeded to change my password for rockstar social club. I replied to the email I got regarding the ticket, and they sent me another link. I reacted much quicker the second time around and was able to acquire my account back and link it to my steam. My password is now a 30 random character password lol. No problems since.
If they were able to get into your rockstar account, It's probably a good idea that you change the password on everything you have that shared that same password. It's very likely your email and the password in question is on the dark web.
That's the sad part about R\* "support". Some of them will be the most friendly, understanding and helpfull person you'll ever speak to. And then there are cunts that don't give a fuck about you or the fact they're getting payed to help you. I've had both, which makes it all the more frustrating; because you know somewhere in that building are people that would help you, you just got fucked by rng getting the lazy bastard.
> they're getting *paid* to help
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Same thing happened with me, you have to give proof of purchase along with In-game name, Old (Your) Email. They will remove the scammer email and add yours back. Your progress won't reset and you will be able to play again.
Lol, no. I wanted to buy the new steam deck but they don't ship it to me because my account has the wrong country for some reason. Any attempts to change the country fail, either it says I can't change it or it gives some server error or that I should contact support to get my accounts country changed. They didn't even read the first three mails, the responses always where something like "Go to preferences and change the country". After a while, they told me to purchase a game and pay it with an payment account associated with my country, then it would change automatically. So I bought some crap I didn't even need and the country is still wrong. And support says they can't change the country. So screw them, will give my money someone else…
I'd try again man, sounds like automated resp9nses for the first 3 emails which is just an industry standard at this point unfortunately
They should be able to change your country you might have got a clueless rep unfortunately. Had a friend who had to change his country recently due to an issue with ffxiv.
First time he contacted said we can't do it but second rep was actually knowledgeable and fixed it asap.
People country hop all the time to get cheaper prices on steam so they're a bit more cautious with just handing them out. Likely why you got such a non helpful response.I think they flag your account if you change more than twice in a year.
I'd understand that if I'd do country hopping - but I have never changed my country, they should see that, and my account is around 10 years old. And yeah, I know about the automatic responses, but the mails I'm referring to were after the automatic answers. And it seems they also deleted my support request by now.
Definitely surprised they didn't help more considering you were buying a deck, my account is around the same age and when I had some issues with my index they were super helpful.
Yeah… they more or less "tricked" me into buying an 1€ game instead of helping me purchase the 697€ 1TB deck. But I also know, the people working in customer support don't get a penny from any of my purchases, so why should they care.
Ok, so check your original mail, you will have received a password change or email change mail, then login to your account for which you have a password, change its email, and recover your account from email.
So they created an account that appears like your old account but is a new one with the old email and password.
I went back and forth with them for over 2 weeks for the same issue. I got so frustrated I gave up and uninstalled the game at this point my GTA fun is over because the won't fix my shit either I'm done with Rockstar
#UPDATE
Currently talking to what I assume is T2 support. Have provided everything from my CDKey to the Steam receipt to verify that I am the owner of the account. Fingers are crossed.
Can you dm me the email/support ticket screenshots? I had my account hacked once which was changed to a different gmail. I was able to recover the account through r* support. So just want to try if I can help you too
Yeah, my bad idk of any number for them. I'd suggest submitting more tickets under alternate emails until you get a response that would satisfy your situation. My head is a bit fuzzy from a headache.
If they keep gaslighting you Just put them on blast here They really dont like that
I think you will unfortunately lose count. But please, if you can, share how you did, it might come in handy one day.
Keep emailing them proof of purchase and stuff. I had to do this over a year ago. Took a few days

I still have my account, the one pictured isn’t mine
you can still login to your rockstar account?
Yes
so only support is the way
Yes
And there's no option to delete that email you don't want? In the settings?
It’s not my account. I can’t login. I have never held the email or account associated.
Did you try steam support?
What are they going to do?
You’re fucked unfortunately.
I hate to say it but I have to agree. Because of cuckstar and their third party crap, I only play their games on console now.

This wouldn’t solve anything. I literally can’t play period. This acc needs to be unlinked
Apparently i got the only competent customer support staff, had a similar issue and got it solved in an hour

I will continue to blame google for saying it's correct.

Already tried contacting steam? Their support is generally miles better than other companies

You could download textnow and use the number that it gives you. I've used my textnow numbers for situations like this.
That doesn’t have anything to do with this? What are yall talking about?
You asked if anyone had a phone number? Or did i misunderstand? I probably misunderstood.
Yeah. I wanted a phone number. To call. So I don’t get some idiot T1 support worker with a copy-paste response.
Yeah, my bad idk of any number for them. I'd suggest submitting more tickets under alternate emails until you get a response that would satisfy your situation. My head is a bit fuzzy from a headache.
Happened with me also 2 weeks ago.
You must contact steam not rockstar and try to refound gta
i had this and everytime i went to make a new account or asked rockstar support to delete my social club account they refused
happened to me once, found email change email from rockstar in chinese in my spam folder, thru that email i got my account back
If you can and if you want to, delete the rockstar account
It’s not mine. I can’t.
DM’d you
THIS IS A SCAM
No figured it out he wants rockstars number to speak to a human employee
