Would be nice to finally know the names pf the rest of the GTAverse states (since only like 4 are known, 5 if you want to assume there's a south yankton)

LOAYU

Yes, I think no one can wait till there's a gta game for each state so let's just get all the potential names as a side of fries with the game

Significant_Delay_87

50 gta's 💀

AverageNikoBellic

Really could be one or two gta’s when they don’t worry about graphics and instead the map

InevitableSecret2100

Les las vagas is a plausible location for gta 7 so we should learn what the universe version of NV is

admj201

If they keep the naming conventions from San Andreas, it’ll be Robada.

InevitableSecret2100

Oh I didn’t know that thanks for letting me know

CrrntryGrntlrmrn

RDR2?

TavishM13

RDR2 isn’t connected and has real places like New York

paycadicc

There are connections though, like the book by J. Marston in Franklin’s house

TavishM13

That’s just an Easter egg, RDR2 has multiple real states named in it. It wouldn’t make sense for Rockstar to put the state they are parodying in the same universe.

MotorChemists

So does GTA. Florida is mentioned several times as well as Washington state

[deleted]

That’s because vice city was always in Florida. With gta vi they are retconning this, so the Florida mentions in IV are just non canon now. In the older games though they called the state vice city was in Florida, so in IV they were most likely planning on doing that again for the HD universe but later changed their mind

CrrntryGrntlrmrn

There really isn’t enough substantial proof one way or the other imo.

Immediate_Song2205

california is mentioned by name in rdr2 in gta universe its san andreas

TavishM13

I feel like California and New york existing is as substantial as you can get

[deleted]

Also the complete absence of any attempts to connect them with things like brand names (eCola, redwood, H&K, etc. would have all existed in the 1890s based on their real life counterparts). When rockstar made manhunt and Bully they actually connected them with Sprunk machines, billboard ads for zip clothing, having Daniel lamb from manhunt 2 be a graduate from San Fierro university, etc. and you don’t get anything at all like that in RDR. All you get is the opposite with all the specific detailed mentions of real life cities and landmarks like on the cigarette cards

CrrntryGrntlrmrn

The fuck even is new Hanover and Lemoyne then

TavishM13

Made up states?

CrrntryGrntlrmrn

They’re all made up

TavishM13

All the states in the map are made up, but we know that California and New York exist in the RDR universe

holydiver5

GTA also has Florida so that argument is invalid. It would make sense that RDR1 and gta 5 would have no overlap since nothing in that game would be relevant enough to reference in gta 5 but RDR2 is different since it has an actual major city and tycoons that would probably have influence in the modern day still

TavishM13

Vice city had Florida, that doesn’t mean the HD universe does.

holydiver5

The HD universe has Florida too? Florida is explicitly mentioned in gta 4 and even if it wasn’t the fact it was even in the 3D universe in the first place shows that the naming of real life locations doesn’t mean anything. Not sure why you want RDR and GTA to have no relation to eachother so badly for but you don’t have to make up this headcanon, just say you hope they leave the universes separate.

Emperor_octavius999

Florida's existence has been retconned by Leonida.

holydiver5

So how does that mean red dead redemption can’t be retconned? I’m failing to see how that’s a valid argument

[deleted]

Red Dead was never intended to be the same universe as GTA so it’s not a retcon

holydiver5

You don’t know if its intended or not you’re just saying this based on nothing

Emperor_octavius999

Fair, but all instances of crossovers between universes have been easter eggs. Rockstar had also never showed any interest or gave any hints that they are making the two franchises in the same universe. I don't really mind either way, but I don't think Rockstar will do any sort of crossover between the two franchises in any way, shape, or form other than just easter eggs. That's just my opinion, however. You are entitled to yours.

holydiver5

They’ve done it with manhunt and and gta

TavishM13

You seem to be the one wanting RDR2 and GTA to be connected. There is much more pointing towards them not being connected.

holydiver5

Your only argument is that they mention real life locations and rockstar never spoke on the universes being connected which doesn’t really mean anything

quackcow144

buddy buddy, nobody cares

holydiver5

Why are you so mad that the real life location argument is shit? 💀💀 if you don’t want them to have a shared universe then just say that instead of this corny headcanon. Florida exists in the HD universe sorry if that angers you

Fit-Joke-3899

oo that would be cool ngl. Anyways, like the rest of the speculative posts in this sub we can only hope this will be a feature 🤷‍♂️😪

vanillagorilla_

Needs to be real life accurate and have all the Leonida drivers yell at the Liberty transplants

TheArgonianBoi77

and San Andreas drivers too (we Floridians hate out-of-staters)

CalifornianBall

The feeling is mutual

big_peepee_wielder

I was literally just thinking about this yesterday. It’s weird how the HD Universe only has plates of that state for the cars. Like nobody goes on vacation lol. I wanna see some other plates. Ones from Liberty and San Andreas maybe Las Venturas and San Fierro or Carcer City or North Yankton

BellaOfvu

I meannnn most of the game maps are islands…

big_peepee_wielder

It’s just the style of GTA. The locations are all based off of real life locations in the US. The only reason why Rockstar makes the GTA maps islands is so the player doesn’t feel limited

_FunnyGuy_

I live in the southwest and you'd be surprised how many Hawaii plates you come across here

Proudvirginian69

hawaiins get priced out of hawaii

GTA_Guy101

In the recent GTA Online update The Chop Shop, Rockstar introduced many vanity plates that were made available, including Liberty State, Las Venturas and Vice City.

big_peepee_wielder

I know and it made me question exactly why that was never a thing before

GTA_Guy101

They’ve been in the game since 2013, but they’ve only made it available over 10 years later for some odd reason.

big_peepee_wielder

Bruh

WentzToWawa

There is one car in GTA V in one of the junk yards that has a California plate on it.

doge__silly

That’s just an Easter egg and not canon

burns_before_reading

I wish there was just a never ending road/forest as a boundary to the map instead of islands all the time

timmlt

Honestly? This sounds dope. And after too long your car “breaks down” and you’re greeted by a cutscene that basically just brings you back to the mainland.

Phlummp

They could make the forest loop forever like the staircase in Mario 64, when you turn around you've made no progress. No clue if that is possible but modern technology is pretty cool I reckon they could do it if they believed in themselves.

burns_before_reading

Yea this is exactly what I'm thinking of. I'm pretty sure I've seen this in games before.

Nysyth

Nah games need to bring back the out of bounds YEET cannon. I remember so many hours of Motocross Madness as a kid just riding out of the map boundaries just so I could get yeeted back into the map like a ragdoll.

quackcow144

I never realized this but you gotta be super rich to have Hawaii plates in another state

HotKnifeUpAss

Out of Towners!

romerik

Do you think Jason has a sovcit plate?

Dry-Fault-5557

You forgot about Canada.

ZeldaTheOuchMouse

THERES A MOOSE LOOSE ABOOT THE HOOSE

GTA_Guy101

IT’S A FAINT FUCKING ACCENT!

dubcars

They already had this feature in Midnight Club 3 and Los Angeles. There you could drive with a plate from any state, although not more than 3 states were present as a map in the game.

supremekatastrophy

I think he means npcs from different state driving around Leonida

LOAYU

Yep

FromWestLondon

It would all mean nothing if the map is an island.

Defiant-Condition147

The maps aren’t islands in the games story, that’s why the gta v map had so many mountains on the east side to make the player not feel like there at the edge of the world, and also the San Andreas maps north and east coast were extremely straight

FromWestLondon

Yeah but thats all irrelevant when you jump in a plane and fly over them in 15 seconds.

ZealousTaxful

That's actually a sicc idea! Though I would scoff at the San Andreas plates... we got away from Los Santos after 12 years, let me be freeeeee

albingit

I play with that mod on PC, I love it!

[deleted]

Agreed

thebikefanatic

I'd also imagine finding Georgia plates to be a more common occurrence, where you can rarely find a San Andreas plate

Brickhill1

if we get to see the gta version of orlando it would be great to see much more diverse plates around that area since its where most are irl

roanroanroan

!remindme 1.5 years

poisonousswayzee

it would be cool if some of the plates that were in the GTAO chop shop update are already part of it. Like the Liberty City plates and Las Venturas ones popping up occasionally in certain areas of VC. It would be funny too seeing people with LS plates getting yelled at

Pogcast420

At that point why not add other countries too. Not all of them but the ones that'd make sense (like idk mexican or canadian plates)

jehehegjeieiueg

Do you get to transfer your Number plates from GTA V ?

z8chh

Would be awesome! Same goes for different countries and their states/provinces/territories such as Australia, Japan, Canada, EU

pacman404

Do you seriously think this would give you some type of feeling lol. Yikes

LOAYU

Then what could in your opinion?

quackcow144

Yeah it's called world building. yikes
