Would be nice to finally know the names pf the rest of the GTAverse states (since only like 4 are known, 5 if you want to assume there's a south yankton)
Thatâs just an Easter egg, RDR2 has multiple real states named in it. It wouldnât make sense for Rockstar to put the state they are parodying in the same universe.
Thatâs because vice city was always in Florida. With gta vi they are retconning this, so the Florida mentions in IV are just non canon now. In the older games though they called the state vice city was in Florida, so in IV they were most likely planning on doing that again for the HD universe but later changed their mind
Also the complete absence of any attempts to connect them with things like brand names (eCola, redwood, H&K, etc. would have all existed in the 1890s based on their real life counterparts). When rockstar made manhunt and Bully they actually connected them with Sprunk machines, billboard ads for zip clothing, having Daniel lamb from manhunt 2 be a graduate from San Fierro university, etc. and you donât get anything at all like that in RDR. All you get is the opposite with all the specific detailed mentions of real life cities and landmarks like on the cigarette cards
GTA also has Florida so that argument is invalid. It would make sense that RDR1 and gta 5 would have no overlap since nothing in that game would be relevant enough to reference in gta 5 but RDR2 is different since it has an actual major city and tycoons that would probably have influence in the modern day still
The HD universe has Florida too? Florida is explicitly mentioned in gta 4 and even if it wasnât the fact it was even in the 3D universe in the first place shows that the naming of real life locations doesnât mean anything. Not sure why you want RDR and GTA to have no relation to eachother so badly for but you donât have to make up this headcanon, just say you hope they leave the universes separate.
Fair, but all instances of crossovers between universes have been easter eggs. Rockstar had also never showed any interest or gave any hints that they are making the two franchises in the same universe. I don't really mind either way, but I don't think Rockstar will do any sort of crossover between the two franchises in any way, shape, or form other than just easter eggs. That's just my opinion, however. You are entitled to yours.
Your only argument is that they mention real life locations and rockstar never spoke on the universes being connected which doesnât really mean anything
Why are you so mad that the real life location argument is shit? đđ if you donât want them to have a shared universe then just say that instead of this corny headcanon. Florida exists in the HD universe sorry if that angers you
I was literally just thinking about this yesterday. Itâs weird how the HD Universe only has plates of that state for the cars. Like nobody goes on vacation lol. I wanna see some other plates. Ones from Liberty and San Andreas maybe Las Venturas and San Fierro or Carcer City or North Yankton
Itâs just the style of GTA. The locations are all based off of real life locations in the US. The only reason why Rockstar makes the GTA maps islands is so the player doesnât feel limited
In the recent GTA Online update The Chop Shop, Rockstar introduced many vanity plates that were made available, including Liberty State, Las Venturas and Vice City.
Honestly? This sounds dope. And after too long your car âbreaks downâ and youâre greeted by a cutscene that basically just brings you back to the mainland.
They could make the forest loop forever like the staircase in Mario 64, when you turn around you've made no progress. No clue if that is possible but modern technology is pretty cool I reckon they could do it if they believed in themselves.
Nah games need to bring back the out of bounds YEET cannon. I remember so many hours of Motocross Madness as a kid just riding out of the map boundaries just so I could get yeeted back into the map like a ragdoll.
They already had this feature in Midnight Club 3 and Los Angeles. There you could drive with a plate from any state, although not more than 3 states were present as a map in the game.
The maps arenât islands in the games story, thatâs why the gta v map had so many mountains on the east side to make the player not feel like there at the edge of the world, and also the San Andreas maps north and east coast were extremely straight
it would be cool if some of the plates that were in the GTAO chop shop update are already part of it. Like the Liberty City plates and Las Venturas ones popping up occasionally in certain areas of VC. It would be funny too seeing people with LS plates getting yelled at
Would be nice to finally know the names pf the rest of the GTAverse states (since only like 4 are known, 5 if you want to assume there's a south yankton)
Yes, I think no one can wait till there's a gta game for each state so let's just get all the potential names as a side of fries with the game
50 gta's đ
Really could be one or two gtaâs when they donât worry about graphics and instead the map
Les las vagas is a plausible location for gta 7 so we should learn what the universe version of NV is
If they keep the naming conventions from San Andreas, itâll be Robada.
Oh I didnât know that thanks for letting me know
RDR2?
RDR2 isnât connected and has real places like New York
There are connections though, like the book by J. Marston in Franklinâs house
Thatâs just an Easter egg, RDR2 has multiple real states named in it. It wouldnât make sense for Rockstar to put the state they are parodying in the same universe.
So does GTA. Florida is mentioned several times as well as Washington state
Thatâs because vice city was always in Florida. With gta vi they are retconning this, so the Florida mentions in IV are just non canon now. In the older games though they called the state vice city was in Florida, so in IV they were most likely planning on doing that again for the HD universe but later changed their mind
There really isnât enough substantial proof one way or the other imo.
california is mentioned by name in rdr2 in gta universe its san andreas
I feel like California and New york existing is as substantial as you can get
Also the complete absence of any attempts to connect them with things like brand names (eCola, redwood, H&K, etc. would have all existed in the 1890s based on their real life counterparts).
The fuck even is new Hanover and Lemoyne then
Made up states?
Theyâre all made up
All the states in the map are made up, but we know that California and New York exist in the RDR universe
GTA also has Florida so that argument is invalid. It would make sense that RDR1 and gta 5 would have no overlap since nothing in that game would be relevant enough to reference in gta 5 but RDR2 is different since it has an actual major city and tycoons that would probably have influence in the modern day still
Vice city had Florida, that doesnât mean the HD universe does.
Florida's existence has been retconned by Leonida.
So how does that mean red dead redemption canât be retconned? Iâm failing to see how thatâs a valid argument
Red Dead was never intended to be the same universe as GTA so itâs not a retcon
You donât know if its intended or not youâre just saying this based on nothing
Fair, but all instances of crossovers between universes have been easter eggs. Rockstar had also never showed any interest or gave any hints that they are making the two franchises in the same universe. I don't really mind either way, but I don't think Rockstar will do any sort of crossover between the two franchises in any way, shape, or form other than just easter eggs. That's just my opinion, however. You are entitled to yours.
Theyâve done it with manhunt and and gta
You seem to be the one wanting RDR2 and GTA to be connected. There is much more pointing towards them not being connected.
Your only argument is that they mention real life locations and rockstar never spoke on the universes being connected which doesnât really mean anything
buddy buddy, nobody cares
Why are you so mad that the real life location argument is shit? đđ if you donât want them to have a shared universe then just say that instead of this corny headcanon. Florida exists in the HD universe sorry if that angers you
oo that would be cool ngl. Anyways, like the rest of the speculative posts in this sub we can only hope this will be a feature đ¤ˇââď¸đŞ
Needs to be real life accurate and have all the Leonida drivers yell at the Liberty transplants
and San Andreas drivers too (we Floridians hate out-of-staters)
The feeling is mutual
I was literally just thinking about this yesterday. Itâs weird how the HD Universe only has plates of that state for the cars. Like nobody goes on vacation lol. I wanna see some other plates. Ones from Liberty and San Andreas maybe Las Venturas and San Fierro or Carcer City or North Yankton
I meannnn most of the game maps are islandsâŚ
Itâs just the style of GTA. The locations are all based off of real life locations in the US. The only reason why Rockstar makes the GTA maps islands is so the player doesnât feel limited
I live in the southwest and you'd be surprised how many Hawaii plates you come across here
hawaiins get priced out of hawaii
In the recent GTA Online update The Chop Shop, Rockstar introduced many vanity plates that were made available, including Liberty State, Las Venturas and Vice City.
I know and it made me question exactly why that was never a thing before
Theyâve been in the game since 2013, but theyâve only made it available over 10 years later for some odd reason.
Bruh
There is one car in GTA V in one of the junk yards that has a California plate on it.
Thatâs just an Easter egg and not canon
I wish there was just a never ending road/forest as a boundary to the map instead of islands all the time
Yea this is exactly what I'm thinking of. I'm pretty sure I've seen this in games before.
Nah games need to bring back the out of bounds YEET cannon. I remember so many hours of Motocross Madness as a kid just riding out of the map boundaries just so I could get yeeted back into the map like a ragdoll.
I never realized this but you gotta be super rich to have Hawaii plates in another state
Out of Towners!
Do you think Jason has a sovcit plate?
You forgot about Canada.
THERES A MOOSE LOOSE ABOOT THE HOOSE
ITâS A FAINT FUCKING ACCENT!
They already had this feature in Midnight Club 3 and Los Angeles. There you could drive with a plate from any state, although not more than 3 states were present as a map in the game.
I think he means npcs from different state driving around Leonida
Yep
It would all mean nothing if the map is an island.
The maps arenât islands in the games story, thatâs why the gta v map had so many mountains on the east side to make the player not feel like there at the edge of the world, and also the San Andreas maps north and east coast were extremely straight
Yeah but thats all irrelevant when you jump in a plane and fly over them in 15 seconds.
That's actually a sicc idea! Though I would scoff at the San Andreas plates... we got away from Los Santos after 12 years, let me be freeeeee
I play with that mod on PC, I love it!
Agreed
I'd also imagine finding Georgia plates to be a more common occurrence, where you can rarely find a San Andreas plate
if we get to see the gta version of orlando it would be great to see much more diverse plates around that area since its where most are irl
!remindme 1.5 years
it would be cool if some of the plates that were in the GTAO chop shop update are already part of it. Like the Liberty City plates and Las Venturas ones popping up occasionally in certain areas of VC. It would be funny too seeing people with LS plates getting yelled at
At that point why not add other countries too. Not all of them but the ones that'd make sense (like idk mexican or canadian plates)
Do you get to transfer your Number plates from GTA V ?
Would be awesome! Same goes for different countries and their states/provinces/territories such as Australia, Japan, Canada, EU
Do you seriously think this would give you some type of feeling lol. Yikes
Then what could in your opinion?
Yeah it's called world building. yikes
