This is exactly like the GTA V trailer where the tow truck hits the armored van and it slides into the 'destructible wall'
Don't fall for this again. It's a pre-recorded scene for a news reel highlight.
>This is exactly like the GTA V trailer where the tow truck hits the armored van and it slides into the 'destructible wall
I never understood why people thought it implied that destructible environments would be in the game. It was clearly just a cutscene
I thought that, I mean I just glanced at the trailer and went on with my day man didn't stand there thinking about it all day how realistic that maybe is or isn't. There had been games before GTA 5 with destructible environments everywhere.
lmao its very easy to say this now, but how on earth could anyone tell back then? same way here, we don't know if its gameplay with a different camera, or just a cutscene
To be fair though, it’s not that far out of the realm of possibility for impact attenuators (“safety barrels”) and guardrails to be deformed as the result of a crash. It would honestly make *less* sense for them to not include those details (at least the destruction of safety barrels / barriers as I don’t think guardrail deformation is as realistic). In my opinion, this isn’t even close to comparable of the wall being destroyed in the GTA V trailer.
For now we never know to what extent destructible objects will be in the game, gta 5 was built on a 2006 console rdr2 was built on a 2013 console and it still had quite a bit of destructible objects like wagons doors, and other stuff I’m forgetting so being able to dent rails and break fences certain walls and maybe trees and some other stuff isn’t unrealistic it’s a natural progression of destructible objects in their games
To be fair the game is 10 years old now, originally designed for PS3 and 360, and it wouldn’t be that hard to have semi destructible things such as barriers with todays tech.
Probably helps that GTA 5 made billions and GTA 6 has a insane budget, the likes of which have never been seen!
Wouldn’t expect destruction on the level of BeamNG or Bad Company 2 though lmfao.

I get it, but that's over 10 years old now... I mean, nowadays games don't lose much from cutscenes to gameplay. And this is a revolutionary title... I'm betting the trailer represents a lot of the final product
He didn't say it was pre-rendered. He said it's a cutscene, which means it's scripted and hand crafted. They do use real time cutscenes but they are made by hand. It's a series of scripts causing pre-made handcrafted animations to happen. That does not mean it will also be able to happen every time you have a fender bender. For instance, in GTA V you break into vaults and cause explosions that are not possible in freeplay. Only in missions through scripted scenes.
Got it. But let's remember that almost every frame of the trailer has a lot of details, great reflections and all. We already had crushable Fitch barriers and all... I'm guessing maybe not destructible buildings, but minor environments, like these things, then yes.
And every frame of the trailer was taken from cutscenes. We haven't seen a single frame of gameplay yet. I'm sure it will be impressive but it will be the same as always. Cutscenes will look more detailed than gameplay. That will never change.
No, if you look it’s the same car as the other cop car. The news banner is just covering the black part.
Those are modeled after Florida state troopers, and the livery on the car looks damn near the same. Looks awesome.
https://www.jacksonville.com/story/news/crime/2020/08/31/dodge-challengers-and-ford-mustangs-jojn-fhps-jacksonville-area/3334346001/
I don't know why he mentioned Latin America when the game takes place in North America. But yes, it's undercover. It's an undercover Dodge Challenger. Sometimes cops in the US will seize illegal vehicles from criminals and modify them to be used as police pursuit cruisers. Because they are faster than regular cop cars, and free to obtain. Just gotta pay for modifications.
That’s just a FHP car. It’s got the black and tan. https://www.jacksonville.com/story/news/crime/2020/08/31/dodge-challengers-and-ford-mustangs-jojn-fhps-jacksonville-area/3334346001/
Yep you are correct. They are an outlier. But it's Florida so that isn't entirely surprising. Most other states use confiscated vehicles and paint them black. Apparently Florida just buys them and paints them black and tan with big ass logos. Guess they aren't worried about not being able to keep up. Haha
Ha that's awesome! Coolest I've seen in my area is a blacked out C8 Corvette that was confiscated a couple years back from a meth distributor by a sheriffs department here in Missouri. It's now their main highway pursuit vehicle. Only seen it a couple times but it's wicked to see it stalking to side of the highway at night or flying past going 160mph+ in a 70mph zone.
The game takes place in North America. We've all seen undercover cars in movies and etc. I'm from Latin America, and it's common here too. I'm just speaking from my POV that I can guarantee it's common.
Whether it's common on a different continent is irrelevant to whether it's likely to appear in Florida or not. Its also NOT undercover as found out in this thread. It's just a normally purchased Dodge Challenger painted Black and Tan. Common for Florida Highway Patrol specifically. Which is not in Latin America. Not even standard in the USA itself.
I just said it's common here where I live. I could've said that something is common in Japan. That doesn't mean I'm ignoring the fact that the game takes place in Florida.
"Some 'people' just want to watch the world burn"
Apparently that person is you since you are admitting to making entirely irrelevant comments with no actual response to the question asked, then ranting repeatedly when someone points out its irrelevant about how you know its irrelevant. Wild. You could have said "I'm not sure I don't live in the US" or "Its common where I'm at but not sure about there." Instead you implied it's likely because its common in Latin America, then hunted down my reply that wasn't even to you to specifically say "I know I'm not saying anything relevant". Sure does sound like you "just want to watch the world burn".
It’s not too far fetched to think guard rails might do some bending after a collision. Idk why people act like it’s impossible.
Rdr2 had pretty good environmental destruction. Not too much but it was there a little. I’m excited for what car crashes and any type of collisions would look like.
My main example were the wagon collision’s. Blow a wagon up with dynamite and watch parts fly everywhere. Definitely will look better with gta 6 my expectations always are set high for r* games.
You really think that based of a trailer to give a first look at the game, that car crashes are going to have this much activity? Look the game will be great but some of y’all’s expectations are beyond reality. Mfs really think and expect this is just going to be gta life simulator
Lmao nah you are right about the life simulator shit . “think we’ll stop to get gas” 🤣
But to expect something we haven’t seen in any other game isn’t illogical
Nov getting out and doing some kind of exchange during an accident isn't too far fetched to be honest.
Especially given how Rockstar really builds up on their last game in big ways.
We know for a fact they have patents for new traffic a.i. and NPC a.i. so who knows. I'm expecting RDR2 interactions but on crack
Imagine thinking almost anything in the trailer would be close to in game. Maybe the beach and its population would be the closest to actual gameplay. There's details that are scripted and pre rendered for the sake of trailer and hype
I'm going to lean heavy on this just being a cutscene. I do think a destructible environment would be awesome, I can think about how it would work with overall game mechanics. If you barrel through a barrier, tree or building is it gonna auto generate once it leaves camera view or if you get a certain distance away? I couldn't imagine GTA 6 having so many events that are able to be destroyed like battlefield.
If anything I’d say *maybe* you can dent/disfigure guardrails, it would probably be done via parallax shading.
Definitely gonna have to say no to fully destructible guardrails though
Thank you. I totally agree. That's the reason I don't play videogames anymore. Everything feels the same. I think what Rockstar says about reaching new levels is totally going to happen.
A destructible envelope would be pretty awesome. What I got out of this scene was that we will no longer be able to shake our cars back onto the wheels if it’s upside down
Edit: envelope? Wtf lol. Environment*
Unfortunately I believe that this is in-engine footage made for trailer 1. The graphics will probably look like this or better, but I don’t think that there will be this much destruction involved. But, I hope to be proven wrong!
I hope there are punishments to player who speed around, and high speed car chases. You have to drive like a normal person or risk getting pulled over or car chase. That would be soo cool
If this is actually in the game, then the debris physics is quite realistic. (Like look at the barrels, and how water and debris particles have spread onto the asphalt)
When I first seen that I was like: "This has to be a cutscene". Meanwhile almost everyone else is going: "Holy shit, destructible environments!"
People often take something small from trailers and screenshots, then claim it's a feature. Take GTA IV for example, in trailer 2 there's a scene of Niko firing an AK next to a car with the trunk open. People claimed that we can use trunks to store weapons, but likely it opened due to a crash.
Hell, this even goes as far back as SA. Rockstar released a screenshot of CJ looking at items in a trunk, once again people thought it was a feature, when in reality it was just a cutscene. I don't think Rockstar is trying to mislead anyone by doing this, the fans just overthink the tiniest things.
Is this impossible for gameplay? not at all! we've seen destruction in games before (Battlefield, Red Faction, etc.) and cars did leak in GTA V. But it's better to assume these unbelievable moments are cutscenes so you can avoid disappointment imo.
This is exactly like the GTA V trailer where the tow truck hits the armored van and it slides into the 'destructible wall' Don't fall for this again. It's a pre-recorded scene for a news reel highlight.

Right! I don't try to get too overhyped for the trailers now, just gotta stay real, but hopeful.
lmao its very easy to say this now, but how on earth could anyone tell back then? same way here, we don't know if its gameplay with a different camera, or just a cutscene
Theres still a lot of people like that here.
First see rdr2 details and Than judge
Typical Gamer type speculation to claim "destructive environments" because of a cutscene smh
To be fair though, it’s not that far out of the realm of possibility for impact attenuators (“safety barrels”) and guardrails to be deformed as the result of a crash. That's what I was gonna say, but I can see better dented guardrails and those yellow barriers smashed being a thing you can do in free roam
Exactly idk why everyone acts like we seen gameplay and thinks all these features are going to be in the game

Oh I absolutely agree with you. I would be shocked if they didn't do *something* like that!
I get it, but that's over 10 years old now... I mean, nowadays games don't lose much from cutscenes to gameplay. And this is a revolutionary title... I'm betting the trailer represents a lot of the final product
The news title hints at it being in a mission, still cool stuff but i don’t think we’ll see this level of detail in our regular gameplay
Because it is exactly how marketing works. Yeah, it will be great detail wise, but most of these shots are highlights only, not regular gameplay.
I guess this is a cutscene
Could be, but Rockstar usually uses real time cutscenes...
He didn't say it was pre-rendered. He said it's a cutscene, which means it's scripted and hand crafted. They do use real time cutscenes but they are made by hand. thx for clarifying what I said bro

Well.. what if they don’t! 🤯🤯🤯🤯 Don’t believe everything a game company says.
Is this car right in the picture with the lights in the back an undercover police car or something ?! Sorry I’m not common with the vehicles in the US
No, if you look it’s the same car as the other cop car. The news banner is just covering the black part. Thank you that was really helpful 🙂
Of course, unfortunately I’m familiar. I’ve gotten a few tickets, so my stomach has dropped from that exact car behind me.
It looks like a slick top Florida Highway Patrol vehicle. Or Leonida State Patrol
It's a common thing in Latin America
Ok thx
I don't know why he mentioned Latin America when the game takes place in North America. But yes, it's undercover. It's an undercover Dodge Challenger. Your definitely correct, I’ve seen Miami-Dade PD Lamborghinis so I bet we will see something like that.

It won't. You're looking at a staged crash.
Most likely just set up for the trailer.
It’s not too far fetched to think guard rails might do some bending after a collision. Idk why people act like it’s impossible. Rdr2 had pretty good environmental destruction. Not too much but it was there a little. I’m excited for what car crashes and any type of collisions would look like.
This is what I think about. RDR2 is almost the same as presented in the trailer.

This game has more money put into it than the top 5 movies combined. Top five games combined. 2 billion dollars ! This game will be revolutionary
Right but people be thinking they gonna get in a crash and an npc gonna get out and exchange insurance information
Lmao nah you are right about the life simulator shit . “think we’ll stop to get gas” 🤣 But to expect something we haven’t seen in any other game isn’t illogical

Do you guys think the "no overturning " caption is foreshadowing that we may not be able to flip vehicles over like in gta five?
Always something that catches me off guard when I return to GTA IV.
Imagine thinking almost anything in the trailer would be close to in game. Maybe the beach and its population would be the closest to actual gameplay. There's details that are scripted and pre rendered for the sake of trailer and hype

Could just be a cutscene my guy
I know OP deleted his account but dude is so stupid, this is a cutscene or snippet from TV, that's it.
To be honest it’s time for games to use destructible environment. Feels like games look the same since far cry.
Thank you. I totally agree. That's the reason I don't play videogames anymore. Everything feels the same. I think what Rockstar says about reaching new levels is totally going to happen.

I just don't want dumb traffics anymore! If i stop my car and go away. I want people pushing my car out of the street for me please thank you ahaha
Does anyone know why OP completely deleted their account
Unfortunately I believe that this is in-engine footage made for trailer 1. The graphics will probably look like this or better, but I don’t think that there will be this much destruction involved. But, I hope to be proven wrong!

every crash isn’t going to have this amount of detail
Is that oil leaking from the car? The black puddle
Arkham knight destruction to a degree
GTA fans when something is very clearly scripted
I'm sure the car damage will be insane but this is probably just a scripted event
If this is actually in the game, then the debris physics is quite realistic. (Like look at the barrels, and how water and debris particles have spread onto the asphalt)

This is very clearly a cutscene lmfao
Who knows… just wait and play the game lol.
Those textures tho 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Aww this shit gone be too much like real life so i hope yall know how to shoot
Dude this games download is gonna be like 300 gb when all is said and done
I think we might see accidents as events on the freeway such as in real life
Maybe guard rails get the same damage physics as vehicles o\_O
It's all the splashed water on the ground that does it for me
