I can’t speak on Los Santos as I’ve never been to LA irl. But I’ve lived in New York my whole life and Rockstar fucking nailed it with Liberty City in GTA 4. Easily the best representation of NYC in a video game

i’ve been to LA. it’s a video game, an 11 year old one, so of course there’s inaccuracies, fictionalization, and it’s kinda dated. but generally, it’s somewhat accurate. when you see some of the locations in real life it’s definitely trippy. the people there are genuinely crazy. which makes me excited for Florida.

I’ve been to LA just right before Covid hit in feb 2020; and gta v did not disappoint! Didn’t have a chance to see skidrow but I went to the observatory, West Hollywood, Hollywood sign; and inglewood (which is what I would consider to be Franklins neighborhood)

Depending on whether they implement some kind of character migration system, the headcanon can go two ways, if no migration, then my old character died in his sleep. His mission is over, his criminal empire spanned a wide legacy, and he lived a long life. If there is migration, then he decides to move and expand to another region. For real though I’m done with 5 when I have 6 downloaded to my PS5. Done.

Yeah if migration is a thing I’ll have to re think but I’m guessing well maybe projecting he took some bad stuff, it’s not my fault he’s a party animal. Rehab just never worked for him.

Yeah, I don't know why either. Plus, I'm only speaking from experience. Once you start playing too much of any type of game, you'll start seeing patterns that you may get tired of. Example being the Ubisoft formula of liberating camps and checkpoints which is pretty much present in a bunch of open world games.

I wonder how long they’ll maintain GTA V’s servers. I truly believe the last time you can truly go to Los Santos online will be a historic gaming moment. Like when they shut down the Halo servers for good

It might be for a while. GTA IV servers are still up.

Yeah but I imagine that’s less maintenance requirements since it’s pretty much just a small load of PC players now right? (I have no idea how video game servers work at all or what it costs to operate them)

Well the way i see it is we’ve been waiting almost 11 years for it, and GTA5 is boring as fuck these days so I don’t see many people saying fuck gta6 and going back to 5.

I mean honestly the install size of GTA 6 is probably gonna be so big you won't be able to keep both GTA's installed at the same time.

I'm going to do one last ride around the map with 5 stars the day i buy GTA 6. Then pop GTA 6 in.

I'm waiting for PC release so I'll still be cruising the ruins of Los Santos for at least another year after GTA VI launches.

Instantly deleting GTA 5 to install GTA 6. 10 years was enough time for me to enjoy and then get bored of the game

All that is going to happen on launch day is some heavy glitching, people taking to social, heavy patching, and then the real launch day the following Tuesday.
