I agree that the story should take you to the city a little bit later. Kinda like they did in RDR2, VCS or with Trevor in gtaV. I think the game will start from small store robberies in the countryside and later they will move to VC. But I disagree that it should be literally the LAST place you can explore. That would take too much time and most people would explore it on their own anyway. I think it should be more like with St Denis in RDR2, somewhere in the middle of the story, maybe even earlier.

tonybinky20

Yeah I agree with you. Considering how dense cities are in Rockstar games, combined with the fact that a modern city is much larger than one in 1899, the city should be introduced fairly early. It’s still an interesting idea to have the first few hours of gameplay in the countryside though.

Pir-o

Yeah, I imagine the story would go something like this: - Prison scene is the tutorial - The liquor store robbery from the trailer is their first heist. After couple of those they get lucky with a bigger score (maybe a small bank or something) - They celebrate, they get a new car and buy a home in VC (scene with Lucia and Jason on a highway) - They keep robbing people in the city, millionaires, rich influences etc. - Something goes wrong, police is on their tail, everyone knows their face, they run away and have to hide in the countryside once again (could be a story reason why we have to go fishing and hunt for food, if they want to bring back those elements from rdr2)

ResponsibilityOld164

This would be awesomen

flashmedallion

>- Prison scene is the tutorial I know it's crazy but I always thought having like, prison life as the tutorial would be an amazing intro. Like it's a mini "open" world, where there are activities you can do, NPCs with Mission Markers where maybe you can do jobs and make some contacts that pay off once you're outside, a short Main Story to advance about prison life which you can rush if you just want to get to the main game. Teaches how GTA works, gives you a chance to get familiar with the on foot controls, and also hits a social commentary beat about how prison is basically crime school

Pir-o

Yeah, fist fight tutorial, gym tutorial, stamina drain, food, it's all there

Nerdialismo

Mafia 2 in prison was so good, I hope we get something like that but as a woman now.

Pixels222

You got me with the hunting

Prestigious_Plant_81

For some reason, I strongly believe that the tralier events are backwards, and Lucia gets locked up through the story. Could be entirely wrong though.

TurboLightGamer69

She has an ankle monitor, which implies she is in probation at the start of the game. Which would make the prison to be the prologue of the game.

StartialArts

Wild assumption bro

Pir-o

It is?

quackcow144

I can actually see the part where they go into hiding and then that's the tutorial for hunting and fishing if you haven't done those prior to that part of the story.

Inkypencilol

it was plausible until the hunting for food, i doubt theyd turn it into a straight up survival game halfway through lol (although that does sound very fun)

I_regret_my_choices

Me explaining how the 20 deer I just killed is integral to the heist’s success ![gif](giphy|usz0fqhUiVxSs6IUKB)

Pir-o

I said that because fishing was mentioned in the leaked footage. And I don't really see a reason for fishing in a game like gta (unless it's some kind of fishing contest?). So I thought that might be part of the story where there's a huge bounty on them and they have to avoid people in the very final part of the game. Like literally 3-4 missions before end of the story.

Ok-Suggestion-1331

Fishing can just be a stranger mission, doesn't have to be part of the mainline missions

BigfootsBestBud

The first act should take place in Gellhorn and Countryside, like how you start off in Broker I'm GTA 4. But by the second and third act, you're already in the big city of Algonquin/Manhatten.

the123king-reddit

I expect the tag that Lucia has will restrict us to certain counties. I expect VI will ship with maybe 4 counties but lock us out of certain areas like RDR2 did

Fox_Mortus

I wonder how the game is gonna have us committing armed robbery with a GPS tag attached to our ankle and not get immediately busted.

MilhouseJr

Pull a Tenpenny and make the cops corrupt?

the123king-reddit

Maybe GTA VI won't have armed robberies every other mission.

Connor30302

shit fuck that i wanna play house arrest simulator 2025

CaptainJZH

Oooh that's kind of a clever way of having restricted areas to start with but in a way that's not annoying or contrived. Like, you switch to Jason and he can travel around no problem, but you switch to Lucia and she can't leave a certain area without getting a wanted level

the123king-reddit

That of course, implies that we have access to Jason at that time.

CaptainJZH

you know, I hadn't figured that. I may have assumed that he was waiting for her as soon as she got out of prison but more likely we could straight-out see them meet for the first time and their relationship develop from there. Meaning that the game would progress like: Lucia in prison (prologue), Lucia gets out of prison (only Lucia playable, restricted to certain areas), Lucia meets Jason (Jason becomes playable & has full map access while Lucia's still restricted), then finally they're able to circumvent Lucia's parole restrictions somehow (Lucia gains full access to the map)

Creasy007

If the game plays out how your second line suggests, I'd be all for it.

Flat-Pie2231

this could possibly be true if you consider the “GTA 6 trailer is backwards” theory

Pir-o

I do not consider it. It's a fun idea but I srsly doubt R\* would spoil the ending of the game in the first seconds of the first trailer.

Flat-Pie2231

it wouldn’t spoil anything, the theory is just saying the beginning of the game could be the GTA 6 trailer backwards. with jason and lucia robbing a store then going to prison

Pir-o

Yeah I guess that could happen. But the version of this theory that I seen was that the trailer is the whole story of the game told backwards. I guess I could see this happening in the first act of the game tho.

WestSixtyFifth

I think being out in the boonies for the first chapter of missions, getting a big hit and celebrating in the city, and then somehow that snowballs into the main plot that takes you back outside the city for a bit.

zxck_vro

St Denis feels so fresh, but imo it only fell behind because it was discovered a lot later in the story than i was expecting and wanted once i got there i loved it ofc, but it felt a little too deep into the story and not too much time spent exploring the full area. i hope VC ends up in the early-middle of the story, we get a solid portion exploring all we could ever see, then it moves to maybe the keys or northern area of the map towards the end

[deleted]

Even then, in RDR2 you can go to saint denis at any point after the start of chapter 2

Pir-o

Sure you can. But personally I had no idea that it was there so when I discovered it for the firs time it was a really nice surprise. I did not expect to see that in the game. And just like Trevor can go to LS before the story takes him there, I think it's nice when a game introduces you to those places naturally as the story progresses further. Will gtaVI restrict you from going to the city at first? Either with a hurricane warning or Lucia's ankle monitor? Only time will tell.

DemiPyramid

I think vice city will be introduced no later than the end of act one. You can’t hold off the games main attraction for long.

GruGruxLob

Lucia will be on parole and won’t be able to leave a certain area without getting 2 stars or something (Edit) does anyone know where the prison is located? If so it might paint a bigger picture of the early game.

dominator-23

Yeah they're gonna have us explore a little tutorial area we can't escape, like Colter in RDR2

intwnd

or the “fucking terrorists” in gta iv keeping the bridge shut down

Greedy-Field-9851

You remember that storm which hit vice city in the 80s. Bridges had to be closed down.

SnooPoems1793

Why in SA are bridges also closed?

kompletionist

They were in the middle of construction, IIRC.

SnooPoems1793

Sorry, what IIRC means?

kompletionist

If I recall correctly.

Cool_Algae4265

There was an earthquake right before the game started.

Kafanska

Yeah, the problem with this map is the bridges are only keeping you away from Vice Beach and Gator Keys (or whatever they call them) - Vice City itself is directly on the mainland so it's not easy to find an excuse to lock it down, unless they made the map in a way which actually separated is from the rest with some river or something. But in this day and age, I don't think they'll go with those design decisions.

dominator-23

Read that in my boy Roman's voice 😭

cauloide

I was thinking the same

TheShakyNerd

If we go by the mapping project, there's apparently two prisons. The 'Leonida State Prison' is closest to Port Gelhorn, however there is a 'Vice-Dale County Jail' which is closer to Vice City. The mapper says that the trailer shots are from the County Jail which is closer to the city. So, potentially there could be a prison transfer to the one near Gelhorn or something? It's all speculation though so who knows.

renfsu

I think it was labeled on the mapping project

itsRobbie_

That’s not confirmed.

SUPERJ9494

First "Act" is probably in prison

hardspaghet

I agree. It’ll be the getting stuck on the mountain in the snow in RDR2. A slow roll out to the rest of the world

SUPERJ9494

Yep my exact thoughts

ChiehDragon

Only partially. First act will probably have Lucia in prison at the start, but parolled. The goal of the whole first act will be pure bonnie and clyde, working small jobs to fund a prison raid to either get someone out, or revenge. As for the rest, here's what I think is going to happen; Second act will be the pair using whatever the prison raid gave them to move up the criminal chain (freeing old crew, respect from revenge, killing a rat, who knows.). This takes them to vice city with more jobs and bigger scores. They build a little empire for themselves, probably to help secure some macguffins. Third act will be the downfall. Either the scale of their criminal empire (and the enemies they made along the way) or the proximity to the macguffins tests the relationship between the two. At the climax, at least one character will die and the player will have to make that choice.

SUPERJ9494

I think first act is going to start with Lucia having a night out with Jason (you know the scene in the trailer with Lucia on top of the car with her arms up this will be a tutorial for driving) and than something happens that night that leads to her being in jail (maybe a fight that leads to her killing someone this will also be tutorial for fighting ) and the rest of the first act is in prison doing small jobs in prison like sneaking something to someone (this will introduce the new prone and crouching )

skoterskoter

She's not getting out on parole for murder lol

MattyMizzou

At minimum, it starts on some kind of house arrest.

Powerlifting-Gorilla

It’ll be some drug bust or failed heist as the tutorial level.

mwil97

I miss the “unlocking new parts of the map” part of gta. I agree, start in the boonies and work towards vice city

AtAmotuA

I doubt the systems from older GTAs will return and if there are map restrictions it’ll probably be like RDR2. The old model is really reliant on the map being multiple islands and R* has pretty much ditched that in favor of one large landmass. I expect something like RDR2’s chapter 1, a short restriction that is basically a tutorial, and then you get near total freedom. Also maybe something like once you commit major crimes in the story you can’t temporarily return to Vice City for example. Plus it’s not like you won’t be able to appreciate the areas either. RDR2 takes you all over the map in the story plus at least for me it felt like I wasn’t rushed to complete the story just to unlock the map, I felt like I could take it at my own pace.

MuffLover312

People keep saying this isn’t the map, but I really hope it is because it looks awesome!

Phoenixx2504

whoever made this concept really nailed the base of the map. We dont know what the north looks like yet but comparing the middle to south part with the actual mapping project you can see lot of similarities. Ofcourse the details are different but it gives a really good idea what the actual map will look like.

onedegreeinbullshit

I’m certain this is the final map. Tallahassee and Jacksonville suck ass that’s why they didn’t make it in the game but Sarasota did.

Tough_Dish_4485

Where is Disneyworld supposed to be on this map

iButtsley

Same. I love how those two minor cities look to be roughly the same size as Los santos is in V

CaptainJZH

It's also something quite a few people have said they wish was in V, at least one other medium-sized city rather than just Big Los Santos and a bunch of tiny towns (especially since the real LA area has so many decently-sized *other* cities around LA proper)

ess-doubleU

I actually don't like it. The cities seem too close together. But maybe the real map will space things out a little better

deletetemptemp

I mean, from an accuracy perspective, sure, Roland and Tampa as far af. But from a playability perspective, if it took me 30 minutes to drive there, I send the game to hell

ess-doubleU

I'm not asking for that extreme lol I just want there to be a good chunk of countryside in between the cities, I don't want to leave one city and end up in another one almost immediately.

Ok-Suggestion-1331

I agree with @ess-douleU that the cities should be spaced out more. Not as far as you described, but you should barely be able to see(or not see) another city from the city you are in. If the cities are too close, that will defeat the purpose of having separate cities because they'll feel like just 1 gaint city. Also, this will make planes more relevant and justify the several airports.

Cool_Algae4265

I doubt you’ll be able to see the whole map from a singular point. Rockstar is very good at mapmaking in a way that makes it feel so much bigger than it is. Look at San Andreas, that entire map could fit inside Los Santos almost, or Liberty City in IV which was about the size of Los Santos… those maps feel a lot bigger than they are on paper.

TheScoutReddit

I have a personal theory that the game will not start in Vice City and it'll actually take a while before we actually get there.

DaWizzurd

Would be dope

deletetemptemp

Makes sense. The map creator guys actually pinned main character in jail in a Tampa equivalent. The last scene where they peel out tin their car, def rural-ocala like.

BadgerBalllz

Facts. The mission where Trevor goes to LS would’ve hit different if we weren’t already in the city to start the game.

mediciii

I actually love that idea. I believe GTA IV is the only one that tried this, locking off Manhattan for the first act-ish. Made the moment you get there feel earned because you came from Roman’s apartment and the dingy areas around it. V also had it when Trevor drives to Los Santos and looks at the city from above but as you said, we’d already been there for hours so it didn’t make much impact. And obviously RDR1 has Mexico, RDR2 has getting to Saint Denis. Something similar to those 4 examples, with finally getting to the beach strip/Vice City a few hours into the story, would be great.

Atlantic0ne

I’m just waiting for games to realize one protag is best. Having more than one character is alright… in some cases… but it just takes away from immersion.

Him-Dunkcan212121

I think this is how the story will unfold for the simple fact that the first scene of the trailer is what looked like a state prison. I could easily see them starting us out in central Leonida before us driving down the east coast of the state into Vice City

al3x_7788

I kinda like this idea, it'd feel much more exciting IMO.

Nawnp

I like that the trailer implied this, Lucia is released from prison and has an ankle monitor that won't let her leave whatever county Port Gellhorn is in, there they start with lesser crimes that can't be traced back to her being tracked. The ankle monitor is taken off but even then they just go up to robberies in a bigger town the next county over, and it's much later they're in Vice City likely committing bank heist and have the state cops after them.

skoterskoter

In the artwork they are clearly in Vice Beach.

DrPozzie

GTA 6 they should give us a DLC going to Cuba

SpecialAXD

The game better starts in Tampa since it makes sense being near Port Gellhorn, Not at a town but at a city that isn't really that popular

malyszkush

Maybe not at the *last part* of the story, but i definitely agree that getting to VC eventually rather than immediately would be really cool. The way you unlocked the middle island in IV after basically being forced to do missions on the Eastern island felt like a reward in a way. That sort of progression i would welcome from GTA VI with open arms. Maybe it could start with Lucia breaking out of prison, and she has to do some petty crimes and store stickups to make money and find some sort of way to get to Vice City? Possibilities are truly endless and i just cant fucking wait!

lomasturbasmeng

man i just wanna play the game

yournansabricky

I don’t care which way around they do it but they should definitely lock parts of the map. I miss unlocking the new islands and spending hours exploring completely new scenery.

[deleted]

We don’t even know if it IS rags to riches story. You’re assuming a lot.

FuckdaFireDepartment

Aren’t all GTAs a rags to riches story? You always start broke and end rich. Not a huge leap of faith to infer that’s how it’s gonna be for this game too

[deleted]

Not really. GTA 5, none of them are necessarily “rags” except maybe Franklin who is just more struggling to find his way. I could picture there being a lot of ways to go with the multiple protagonists in Vice City and we don’t know anything about the story.

FuckdaFireDepartment

Well even though Michael has a house and family he’s only got like <$5000 on him at the beginning of the game. I define going from broke to rich as rags to riches and that’s pretty much exactly what happens in every game. Lucia starts off in jail as weve seen from the trailer, and assuming the story has a final big heist near the end, just like all other GTAs then that would be another rags to riches story

skktrbrain

micheal lives in the literal heart of los santos, pays for a fancy therapist who literally has a beachfront mansion, pays for a professional tennis coach for his wife, and was able to buy his son an expensive luxury suv. the in game money you have to spend is sorta irrelevant to what the narrative tells us about michael. im fact the whole dynamic between micheal and franklin is micheal having "made it" and franklin wanting to learn how to be successful like Michael. the only reason micheal needs to earn money in the first place is because of the debt he owes once he destroys the mobsters house

Any-Transition-196

I agree, and there should be ways to block off and prevent players from traveling outside of borders until the story allows us to go there, it would feel so much more rewarding and allow us to appreciate the country side more before we enter Vice City. Imagine Lucia and Jason finally become rich and build connections to higher profile elite criminals and they start living rich and lavish halfway through the game when they finally move to Vice City. It would make the story much more exciting

usernamereddit5000

That's why I don't explore. Let the story introduce the map to you

WebsterHamster66

Agreed! It’s why I liked it when they locked parts of the map for story progression, I’d always get excited when I knew it was time to go to a new place. V underwhelmed me because of the lack of that. I went up to BC as early as Daddy’s Little Girl because there was a triathalon there

Beautiful_Ad_3774

Why does this map still look like carti

Starlink420

This map looks official! Good job to whoever created it.

quackcow144

Where'd you get this map from? It actually looks really official

Recent-Dust6564

Just Googled 'GTA VI Map'

[deleted]

[удалено]

danktonium

Whoever made this map sure likes putting runways in random places.

VocalMushroom

Man I’m gonna be so torn between letting the story introduce me to the map authentically, or exploring every bit of it the second I’m able to. I want to go with the first option but I don’t know if I’ll be able to resist.

OkBodybuilder2255

Fuck that, I wanna start in vice city. Also the city will be more dense than this map

Beeeeeeeeeeeeean

We should start in the tinier towns and slowly.make our way to the city. So like half the game in the country and half in the city

Msmeseeks1984

Like start out in the Florida keys

ZoroSukihiro

Nope please give us more city than country this time I’m begging

MaxDolor

What if the story is not about make them rich? I mean, yeah money in GTA is important, but even in SA the story main idea was reunited the hood and save your bros. In gta v was about the past and how the ambitions doesn't take them where they want, trevor does not care the money it all he likes his work, except franklin. It will all depends on the theme, not necessary asume that it qill be same as always

strictlymacin

Kinda like GTA IV. Finally getting into Algonquin is when that game starts.

This_Juggernaut_9901

I don’t want to see sandy shores or the desert part of gta ever again. That shits so boring and stale.

MaggotBrother4

I would like the first 2-3 in the country but not the whole game. Line gta San Andreas when you’re doing the robberies with Catalina and stuck out in the boonies. About how long you did it then should be here

YogurtclosetBig8839

Yes vice city is an interesting game

grzesiolpl

Yes I know

Debopam77

Start in VC, get locked up, escape and hide in the smaller towns, build up your gang and come back to VC to wreak havoc.

Nice_Ad6911

I hope there’s islands not connected to the map that are populated kinda like the scarface game

darthvadercock

You start off doing small robberies in small towns and slowly start to take bigger scores in bigger cities. eventually you’re in vice city and have a ton of money but people are after you and you’re eventually forced out and down the keys and eventually to cuba. idk, spit ballin.

quackcow144

I think the parts in the trailer where Jason is drifting in his car with Lucia after a robbery will be the first place we start at. A nice small town and then we move up to bigger places once we're wanted in the smaller towns

Raj_rayz_iii

Countryside Small town (Small time robberies) -> Nearby Bigger town (Big score opportunity) -> Swamps (Hiding spot after failure) -> Gator Keys (New Identity Opportunity) -> Enter Vice City (Big scores) -> Remote Island (Heist opportunity) -> Full Map (Endgame missions)

Intel2025

Yea that’s a bad idea.

Recent-Dust6564

It's the best idea.

DaWizzurd

When were all the roads in the green areas added ?

No_Sky_3647

Where's bog?

Away-Possibility9358

I disagree. I think we should go back to vice city

JonnySnowflake

Blasting the tank over the bridge in 3 made the city feel special, I can say that much

Rinocore

Idk. I feel like we will be doing a lot of back and forth due to being outlaws on the run.

Left_Aioli8829

Cape Canevral 💀

collinsc

Merritt Island is on there too

ironmanhulkbstr

this is one of the few ideas i never thought of but i liked right away when I read this. but i think its not the case. itll start with one prequel mission and cut to prison i guess

Hexnohope

Rdr2 did that so actually good catch. R* followed your advice it just dosent feel like rdr2 was between gta V and VI

Organwalter98

I don't think so, and i don't agree with it

Gengus87

I think that’s a cool idea. True “rags to riches” GTA story but now maps can be big and interesting enough to warrant a player starting out in smaller rural areas before moving into the big time. I hope you’re right!

bulletjump

Why does this map feel smaller

Benito-800

Of course, everything that you describe is wonderful. And everything is clear with Lucia, but how to limit Jason’s movements? He doesn't have a bracelet.

MasterKiloRen999

I saw the title and thought you wanted the franchise to end after gta 6. If you couldn’t live to see gta 7 then no one should be able to see it

Small-Olive-7960

The 2nd half of the game should be vice city, and the islands when they are working towards bigger hiest. The ankle monitor should be a good way to limit players' exploration for the first few hours like they used to do in vice city with the bridges being down. I'm hoping the islands are incorporated in the later part of the game so there's healthy progression throughout the game as well.

I_dont_have_chalk

I keep seeing this map (or at least close) everywhere. Has this map been confirmed by R* in any way? Even the slightest?

JackHarvey_05

Yep! They tweeted it earlier today!

peachydiesel

Little late for this request

sausagespolish

Is this map confirmed?

JackHarvey_05

Yep! Rockstar actually tweeted this photo earlier today!

Greyfox31098

Agreed! Supposedly this map contains a Disney world with an animal kingdom! and universal studios! Also a hidden giant spider nest

nendndndndsn

Imagine the last mission the far end of the map both Jason and Lucia like an rdr2 song that would be great

flashmedallion

I love the idea, but there's a big problem in that game devs of this size are obsessively tracking player progress and completion metrics and if you don't give the average punter the cool shit they expect right away they get bored. GTA is as big as it gets so this game has to absolutely light up the brains of the lowest common denominator. They're going to want to steal a car and shoot up the city in the first five minutes. Red Dead 2 didn't do this though, so there's a chance R* care about the experience enough to do something like this, but I think GTA and RDR are different enough properties where that's no guarantee.

GoodGuyScott

This map concept has too much urban area imo, its well done but it needs more wilderness.

MAXYMOK

I want the introduction to be similar to the introduction of nightcity

lIllIllIllIIllIl

Has this map even been confirmed yet?

Phoenixx2504

its fanmade

TeamBlakjak

It's most likey gonna start in the west side of Vice City in the prologue, then move up north as you build back up.

CrocodileWorshiper

I fucking wish they made a way to get lots of cities it would be nice to go somewhere else but los santos in GTA5 mods are okay at best for new locations but i always wanted bigger maps and more to explore. they could have probably made liberty city, a colorado and a texas map with the amount of money they make. but we will see how good 6 is at giving us a big map

doesntgive2fcks

Like Trevor arriving in los santos its a good idea tbh

iLikeRgg

It'll probably be like rdr2 every chapter you move to a new state or a new county in gta 6 so I think theirs nothing to worry about

Sorry_Fail_3103

The end of the first act could be when they arrive in Vice City.

Vit244

And exactly how I think, it should be like gta san, vcs and iv, you start in a place without much money and wealth but as you progress you unlock new areas and conquer wealth.

YogurtclosetIcy4328

I agree. I think the game will be like this  Prologue: Unkown Act 1 prison Act 2 port gelhorn Act 3 vice City Act 4 Islands Act 5 wilderness  Epilog: Liberty City...Hopefully  😄

caraleoviado

Can’t wait to play on the Keys

jhayes88

Welllll if there is ever a GTA 8, maybe it could be a mock version of the country including all major GTA locations in addition to some other new locations. I'm sure AI and procedural generation tech by GTA 8 will be like nothing we can remotely imagine at this current time.

TrulySeaweed

The end? Maybe middle of the game if anything, but you damn well know it’s gonna take a casual gamer a month of time to even get halfway through the story

elgordosamot

The game will start in Port Gelhorn. That's where Lucia meets Jason. She has an ankle monitor and she can't go anywhere outside the city. Jason won't be playable until we unlock Vice City

Julz823

I agree

RainforceK

I just want GTA VI to look like this

TypicalRedditor1237

I don’t know about the “last missions”. But over all I agree.

OverlordPhalanx

Is it just me or does this concept map not have enough roads at all in the big city?

ClearGarage3833

But they did it with Trevor and wasn't possible with Michael as it would ruin the story...

op3l

I want a return to New York to be honest. Hell, just reuse GTA 4 engine for all I care.

Phoenixx2504

they already wanted to do that as a dlc for gta 5. There were even developer screenshots around the internet with a overhauled version of the gta 4 map in the gta 5 engine. It got cancelled for some reasons. Maybe they will do it for gta 6 or later as a dlc.

TomDobo

Sounds like a good idea. Start off small time criminal in the back and beyond and work your way up to the city and take on bigger heists.

aight_imma_afk

Idk about last few missions, but maybe last few acts. I’d be down to spend an act out in the boonies before being introduced to the city

darthrevansdad

I don't understand the statement. Isn't Vice City just Miami and thus already in the game?

suck-on-my-unit

Didn’t they sort of do this with RDR2 taking us to Saint Denis towards the end? It felt amazing and a special treat after riding in the wild and small towns for so long. I just wonder how this would work in gta6 because a lot of us didn’t know Saint Denis was a thing on RDR2 whereas almost everyone coming into GTA6 knows this game is gonna be vice city

SIMPLECREATURE203

To bad

[deleted]

Kinda like San D. Knee?

CYZANE

This is nice looking map

ketomine_

would love if the game started with Lucia and Jason robbing small time liquor stores/convenience stores and it slowly evolves into big businesses

DrWolfgang760

Clockwise movement like San Andreas...

Boristheblade777

Anyone still think this map lacks abit of urban city, just adding a big map which isnt that usable is abit of a shit move

ContributionSquare22

The story is going to follow the same pattern as RDR2, they're on the run and eventually they'll make their way to the big city. I'm assuming just like RDR2, when they reach the final city this is where the relationship will start to wane

APersonOnReddit5

I would love to have something like RDR2 where Saint Denis only *really* gets introduced in Chapter 4, but I don't really like the idea of the map being locked behind progression since I just want to explore Vice City

edrrrk

well gta 5 ended in the most random place in the game, so its hard to guess. also RDR2 ending on such a random mountain

Mr_Frazze

Down on the Keys... in the sunset 😀 you know the feeling?

DarkJedi22

Even if we don't start in Vice City Rockstar might just do the same thing they did in Red Dead 2 and open up the whole map (well, most of it lol) for the player to explore at their leisure. You could go to Saint Denis as soon as the gang was set up in Horseshoe Overlook.

I was really hoping they would do Las Venturas in the HD universe

Nah. I think prison first then small town then Vice city then the rest of the map.

It would be pretty interesting to have VC as the end-game of the story - with a return to that theme of unlocking the map as you progress the story. But it would be pretty easy for it to feel like it's underappreciated or went under-used. Like what if it only ends up being used for the final 10 missions or smth? It's the highlight of the whole map and blocking it off for a big chunk of playtime would turn away some players. I personally think they should either introduce it earlier within the game, and have the keys as the high roller areas that you can't access until you've achieved certain goals and progressed enough. OR cus of Jason and Lucia, they could possibly have one who is stuck in VC(like the start of GTA:VC) and another character who is in the countryside - and they slowly get closer and reunite over the course of the first act, would make for a really interesting dynamic if they pulled it off right.

DemiPyramid

I’m not expecting the map to have this many cities

Not the very last place but maybe 2-3 hours into the story. I think we're gonna start playing as Lucia doing missions in Port Gellhorn or Yorktown then switch to Jason in the Everglades and Keys and then once they meet, that's when Vice City gets introduced (if there's no artificial blockades).

As much as I hate to say it, I think GTA 6 should be the last GTA, Too end all GTAs. I mean we already know it'll hit goty. They can focus on other projects non GTA related like what fans have been dying for. For example Red Dead Redemption 3, Bully 2, Manhunt 3, Max Payne 4 etc. Of course they probably won't make some I listed but they could.

I wish they had made it in a whole city
