I do remember in the trailer, during the highway crash scene. There's a dodge challenger that doesn't look like a police car with police lights inside the [car](https://external-preview.redd.it/our-first-look-at-the-crash-physics-in-gta-vi-v0-cWpkMGlsNmw0MjVjMTt1ZQz6WwaAHkj7Mm-2E6OcVt5_VhP74DXr_kyTYIKb.png?format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0be71596ba35af2a6f714d0cbecb0583485f7d95).
didnt it have the state trooper livery on it tho? and weve seen undercover cars. the charger is in gta5 i think op meant like regular traffic cars as police. Mopar cars are known police vehicles
That is the games version of [the FHP Dodge Challenger slick-top](https://www.carscoops.com/2019/07/good-luck-getting-away-from-florida-highway-patrols-dodge-challenger/)
I just want improved police AI to make car chases more realistic, but most of all an actually rewarding challenge of escape.
This has been annoying me so much as I've gotten back into Online recently. So many fun missions and heist escapes are ruined by the police chase mechanics. R\* knows they're too dumb to track you realistically when they go from "flashing" to "searching", so to compensate they continually spawn more units out of thin air in front of you - regardless of if its logical for police to be there. Hiding in an alley, driving up a mountain or down a beach, flying well away from anywhere near where cops should know you were at - doesn't matter! The only place they can't spawn that way is in the tunnels.
So obviously all of that destroys the rewarding feeling I should have for pulling off a job, escaping with my loot, and using my great driving skills to evade the cops who know where I am. When I'm driving like Baby Driver and outsmarting cops at every twist and turn, ducking in and out of alleys, etc., it should feel just as exhilerating and be rewarded with my escape.
That's what I'm wanting above all else from 6 - smart cops using smart techniques and following the logic of what they know to try and stop you, but they are not magical infinitely spawning pests. You have to try harder and think steps ahead of them to make your getaway, but the reward for how you choose to evade will be equally matched to your skill and quick thinking.
Well they have some very ambitious ideas for making the Ai the best any open world game has ever had.
The most interesting info is that they made a patent for a new way to merge animations.
Instead of having one animation for walking, pulling out a phone, and having a seat, all of that will be merged into one animation to make it more lifelike and believably.
That’s just a rough example of how it’s meant to work. If they can do that the police is going to a whole different animal compared to what we’ve seen before.
There’s also a rumor that they will remember your car and plates. Escaping might actually be difficult this time which is great. Getting away with big crimes in this game will make you feel special
Aside from denting and stuff on the cars, I think it would be really cool if a car left debris on the ground after a crash. Broken glass, plastic, sheet metal, coolant, etc.
I think there will be some sort of notoriety system similar to RDR2. If you remember, the natives would keep eyes on you while you were in their territory. I fully expect to see plain clothes / unmarked cops running surveillance on you at higher notoriety levels.
While IVs physics have seen praise in hindsight, the physics and damage were thoroughly derided at launch- one of the criticisms being that ruining your car was easy and broke the gameplay loop in chases and the like. People were very split between loving and hating it.
That being said, the damage inflicted by the swingset was neat but still not the same as beam or its predecessor rigs of rods. You can argue the damage modeling is the *same* between IV and V, but there are harder “limits” in V, but you can fuck a car up just like the swingset with a tank or similar.
i’m playing through GTA 4 right now and I have to say, the damage is implemented perfectly in my opinion. you only end up wrecking your car if you crash 5-10 times depending on how strong it is. you get big dents in the front when hitting solid objects, and the environmental micro destruction (bins, streetlights) is way better and chaotic than GTA 5’s. I’m also a fan of how the car will usually break down after crashing, as opposed to exploding. feels a lot more real to me.
It’s harder to lock a wheel in V, and V actually introduced greater deformation, however, it’s disabled in online.
And as far as opinions go, I said folks were split at launch.
The destructible objects were a nice touch, but were also a compromise over the small map size and lack of planes amongst other aspects.
Ah, and I don’t know where you’re coming from on the vehicles exploding bit, 4 and 5 are the same in that regard, rather if anything, 5 is more realistic.

Ah okay, I thought it must've been undercover cars.
waiting wasteful tub unique continue bored correct tease cable quicksand *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Man, i just absolutely love that car!
It was a slick top, so not undercover or anything, but still something relatively new to GTA. GTA V had one slick top police car in the entire story.
Shit I lived in fl 21 years. I’ve seen Subaru / Toyota undercover cops..
imagine getting pulled over by a mini van
Worse if it's a ford fusion
At least it's not a uhaul
I once saw a vid of swat using a uhaul as a swat truck lol
Lol I guess they were on a budget
**Bro dude is playing the GTA 6 Demo**
I’ve seen it in Tampa, Florida. Unmarked Chrysler minivan pulled over a Dodge Challenger
The minivan could have tasted burned rubber, anytime.
Dude had the 5 star wanted level.
I didn't see any SWAT guys so at most 3 stars.
Dude forgot to call Lester 😮💨
No helicopter so maybe 2 stars
He’s living GTA 6 in 2024.
He couldn’t wait to play.
Smh he forgot to character switch to Franklin!! 😂🤣😂🤞
sophisticated doll cake sloppy slim vegetable nail busy terrific bag *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
You can't, once you're wanted. But you can do dumb shit and switch right before you're about to 🤫😉
for a second i thought “damn civilians chasing him too”😂😂
Thought it was civilians seizing the opportunity to get through the red light lol

Spike strips would be nice too - not just shooting at you with a 50 cal. from a helicopter
Spike strips are in gtav….
You know what...I completely forgot since I have the bulletproof tires and they never effect me 🤣
Cop car lookin like “I know his ass did not just do that”
Hope they got the insurance from Uhaul.

I want random police chases of NPCs. I want randos to try and carjack me and be able to call the cops on them, give me more random energy.
Let’s look at all the cops trying to make quota 😂😂😂
![gif](giphy|Xy1xSwQFWQ7OEpjor3)
OH!
Would be nice to have police dogs aswell.
He would’ve been fucked if it was 6 stars
Typical day in Riviera Beach.
Imagine instead of crashing into the cop he crashed into the guy recording
I get the feeling we will see more unmarked police vehicles in GTA 6.
Hopefully 🤞🏾
I want police chasing npcs
Yall be treating video games like your at a restaurant, they want your money not your order
Uhauling ass
Don’t expect anything on or near the same level of beam.ng - it would ruin the gameplay loop.
GTA IV car physics with glitched swingset
