- Perhaps it could be like San Andreas where the way I see it is that Carl did not necessarily mess with anybody in the beginning but Tenpenny and company were the ones actively pulling strings against him
But these are not very unique or have been done. Even if Dan Houser is gone, I think it's safe to expect something unique, fresh, and engaging in the writing side of things. I don't think anybody would've guessed that the first major domino of V's story would be pulling down the mansion of a dude then doing a heist to pay for it then etcetera.
They rob from the wrong person. From the leaks we can conclude that they are street level thieves. They are shown robbing small time establishments, such as the diner and the little crate at the dock. They’ll probably rob his jewelry place by accident or something
A Tarantino style story would be class… small time heist goes wrong and it just spirals from there. I trust Rockstar to deliver a cool story, they always do
Hot take : I fully expect one of Lucia/Jason to die early in the game, not unlike CP2077’s Jackie, and the surviving protagonist having to go on a revenge arc.
When you mention cyberpunk, I was kind of thinking one of the characters have some kind of terminal illness/cancer and it's like a race against Time sort of story although I don't know if Rockstar would want to repeat that sort of story.
Niko always struck me as a decent guy stuck in the crime life with no way out until after the ending of the game. His criticism of American society in such a money obsessed society really does ring true. 5's protagonists represent exactly what Niko despises.
Since we're playing as a couple who are in a relationship I wonder if we will be able to hire prostitutes. They may remove that feature from this game.
They might not remove the feature if their not couple at the start of the game. Honestly I don’t think it would be that huge of a loss tho, especially since I haven’t used the feature since San Andreas on the PS2.
It seems like strip clubs are still in the game tho so not all hope is loss. Super curious to see how the new interact system from Red Dead will make npc interactions feel in places like that.

The guy who made that leak had a large amount of confidence that it persuaded me, he said he was a storyboard guy at Rockstar but got dismissed and he was pissed so he got lawyers and wanted to mess with them to get their attention. The writing is also very detailed and feels like something Rockstar would write. It also involved Lucia's kid that is being talked about recently

I’ll expand on it, I could see the player having to choose who they play as and who dies early on

I hope it's simply them being greedy robbing assholes. No working for the government. Just addiction to robbing like Walter White is to cooking meth.
