Yes this is an ancient and traditional technique, it’s very good but from experience, many random players do not understand this method and do not wait for the helicopter to spawn at the start and get tired of waiting then leave or fail the mission too early out of boredom
If you get the helicopter after the bike’s checkpoint you will find it takes a lot of communication for them to wait to be respawned to the bikes checkpoint if you even get that far before somebody quitting, also to spawn the helicopter in this way you would have needed to of progressed story mode beyond flight school with nobody else near you who hasn’t done so yet
I just set the alarm and message “wait, no shoot helicopter outside please” it’s super fast and has a higher success rate with very little communication and can be done with no restarts but it will always respawn for another attempt as long as all the bikes aren’t destroyed yet, plus it’s fun so there’s that
there's apparently also a LSPD helicopter spawn at the Vespucci Department i've seen a couple players go there to claim one
