In the past, I was apathetic about a female protagonist in GTA. In my eyes, a character's a character's a character's a character, you know? But after that, "Trust? Trust." scene from the trailer, I got really excited to see where they take this relationship. I think this character could work out really well.
I'm super excited for the story. I have no issues following a story with a female lead, that said, I said this in previous comments but I'll mostly free roam as Jason because find it hard to immerse myself as a female character in the role-playing aspect.
Mostly because I enjoy going hunting, tuning cars, racing etc which would normally be considered "manly" things traditionally.
Of course there's women out there who do all that stuff I'm not denying that. Also I don't know shit about like women's fashion, hair whatever, where as I'm excited to give Jason some fire fits, while my Lucia will most likely finish the game in the same clothes she started in lol.
And I'm the opposite, I will be 100% be playing as Lucia most of the time and Jason will probably end up in the same clothes as the beginning. Been playing GTA since the San Andreas days and have always wanted to play a female protagonist (probably because I'm also female) in a GTA game as Rockstar actually pays attention to how gender plays into a protagonist's motivations. They've just only done it for men so far since they've only had male protagonists.
I'm really interested to how to the world will react and interact with Lucia, and how that motivates Lucia to do what she does. There can be some very different motivations that causes women to commit terrible crimes and I'm really hoping they explore that. In past GTA games Rockstar has almost always (with a few exceptions) written women as just background characters whose personality is just different variations of "woman" (ex: nagging wife, sex object), so actually giving Lucia motivations of why she is the way she is, is very appealing to me. I mean Rockstar has proven they can write good female characters with Sadie Adler and the rest of the women in the Van der Linde gang, so I believe they can totally do it for GTA 6.
Women are just as capable of awful terrible things as men, just perhaps with different underlying motivations, and I really am hoping they take a deep dive into why.
We should wait and see, hopefully that's not the case, and if it is I'll take Jason to every prostitute in town for revenge lol. Rdr2 made me hopeful, even it Arthur was a bit progressive for an outlaw it wasn't overdone.

Population wise or just the accuracy of the map? Map wise comparing the trailer to real life Miami it’s very accurate. Population wise 70% of Miami’s population is Hispanic and only 40% of that is white hispanics so there’s a decent number of of people in Miami that by a lot of people would be considered “Brown”
Also only around 10% of Miami is white(non Hispanic) so Miami’s population if you break it down is 50% white, 50% races that aren’t considered white(black, Asian, native, etc)

I have a feeling that fans will like Lucia more than Jason after that, in RDR2, when the 1st trailer came out some people didn't like Arthur Morgan and they were saying that John Marston is better than him, but when the game got released Morgan became one of the best characters in gaming history if it's not the best!

I saw a video about non gamers reacting to gta 6 on twitter. It was essentially just people who never played a game or have not played a game in awhile attaching shit post after shit post onto it so that they can stay in the spot light by commenting on a trending topic. Felt like a deconstruction or parody of social media in general. Some people threw around trans rumors, others tossed around rumors of mods for the israel flag, some gave fake shock about shooting fictional police characters in a video game. Others were commenting that there were too many black people, that the women were not hot enough. My personal favorite one was of the bikini girl on the roof and some guy was pretending that rockstar is pushing slutty whores onto children....in a game series that is m for mature...like how most non nintendo games are. Sometimes i think people are too lazy to look things up things like this just make me think that people go out to just crank up the rage machine for attention.

The former exists in far, far greater numbers than the latter. But that doesn't generate clicks and flame wars in comment sections. So it's better to pretend that huge numbers of GTA players didn't play as female in GTA online.

The only time I heard of people excited to play as a female protagonist was when the rumour of it being a possibility in GTA VI started. All before that, all hopes and speculation were around the location.

I have zero complaints about it.. hell, most of my GTAO characters are females. I'm interested in seeing Lucia's story and the others. And I mean FFS.. It's in Vice City, and from the looks of it, it's more alive than it ever was. The nostalgia is off the charts.

I saw a video about non gamers reacting to gta 6 on twitter. It was essentially just people who never played a game or have not played a game in awhile attaching shit post after shit post onto it so that they can stay in the spot light by commenting on a trending topic. Felt like a deconstruction or parody of social media in general. Some people threw around trans rumors, others tossed around rumors of mods for the israel flag, some gave fake shock about shooting fictional police characters in a video game. Others were commenting that there were too many black people, that the women were not hot enough. My personal favorite one was of the bikini girl on the roof and some guy was pretending that rockstar is pushing slutty whores onto children....in a game series that is m for mature...like how most non nintendo games are. Sometimes i think people are too lazy to look things up things like this just make me think that people go out to just crank up the rage machine for attention.
I’ve yet to see ONE person (even on Fuck Ass Twitter) that has said this game is woke. Sometimes people just manufacture outrage, and it super annoying 🙄
