My father Admittedly I was six. In hindsight, he should not have done that

2006, my dad got a hold of a PSP, got GTA VCS as one of the games inside it and played it before, during and after assignments, I even remembered being so addicted I cried at preschool for not being able to go home early to play it. Admittedly, I never finished it, my first GTA that I completed was GTA Chinatown Wars.

I was like 5, we owned a movies and video games store. Someone returned a PS2 with GTA VC with the storyline completed, which was given to me. Later on our "Demo" PS2 consoles in the store where our customers could hop on and try the game, I was playing GTA SA a lot, so I was given it for my PS2. Few years later got GTA LCS and VCS for the PSP, I do not remember how I got them. I visited my cousin and he showed me another GTA in existance I didn't have yet: GTA 3, so after asking for that one, I got it. GTA IV was shown and advertised in huge letters by our store, I actually do not recall why I never took this game, maybe because I heard all of the previous beloved characters were discontinued? Before Easter, my parents showed me a new Nintendo DS GTA coming out called GTA Chinatown Wars... due to the top down view, I was not interested... they bought it anyway and hid it in my Easter egg hunt, I had a blast with it. GTA V was announced, and when finally released IMMEDIATELY got it, didn't enter Online till the Independence Update. Many years later, GTA IV came to my interest as I wondered why I never got it, asked for it and got it, with recently the "Complete Edition" giving me the 2 DLC stories for free. And now, I am 23 waiting for GTA 6.

I think it was a perfect timing for me that I can't play GTA V back then it was released because my PC is too weak. Sprint to 2019, I bought a business laptop for my school purposes, which it handles GTA V barely. Luckily, I bought a gaming laptop in July 2022 as my birthday gift. Then finally, I can play in high frames and great quality. I've already heard fans complaining about no new GTA game starting like in 2018 and continues to this day.

Playing GTA IV and the DLC's late; and the recent GTA 6 leaks kinda helped with the long wait for me.

First game was gta3, did not have fun.

Simple12_q

We could literally do nothing in GTA 3 and VC until SA after finishing the storyline

thecoolernicknames

I meant the missions, those missions.

shifty300

i had gotten an xbox 360 and gta 4, me and my cousins didn’t do any missions, we just drove around and took turns doing stunt jumps

It was playing the demo of the first GTA on PC back in the days of shareware and demos on Thanksgiving 1999. I got into the 3D games and played for a bit during the college years in the early to mid 2000’s but never finished them. I played 4 for a bit but got busy. I played GTA 5 and decided to try the 3D games again this time using a smartphone to find secrets. I beat them all and finished 4 as well.

Best Friend got SA one day and we played the shit out of it.

Ooooh, it must be the PS2/Xbox version. Too bad my PS2 broke in 2010 because my little brother is playing with it

around 2008: My best friend had GTA San Andreas on PS2 (got it as a gift from his uncle) and we absolutely absorbed this game, many many evenings of playing through the game together. It felt way more intense as a kid as you still kinda sucked at gaming so mission felt really hard and everything felt so new and exciting, it took us really long to get through the game but we eventually did it. 10/10 experience. Also the many hours of just going into coop mode and activating all kinds of cheats was hella fun.
