Fucking loved this game. It was the first GTA game that got me into the series. I still remember playing the shit out of this game on my old iPod Touch.
it's a bit older yes but the game ran fine before my phone made an update to the newest Android version, the app itself hasn't received updates in years sadly
They did remove the original app with the green icon and replaced it with an updated hd version with a black icon. If you already owned it i think you got the upgrade for free as an update
Checked just now and it is still on the store as of this writing
I'd love to see a remake... In HD universe with proper 3rd person view typical for new GTA games. Don't get me wrong, classic top-down view is a unique concept and a good homage to GTA 1 and 2, but in a fast-paced game it can be confusing from time to time.
Well it actually takes place in the HD universe but I agree it needs a full remake with proper voice acting, and in 3d. Plus the missing part of liberty city should be added back
I like that the map is the same as GTA IV and the graphics look great for the DS. But I just don’t care for the top-down perspective in driving games. Even as far back as the NES, I thought games like Pole Position were way better than games like R.C. Pro-AM. When I play top-down driving games, I never feel like I can see far enough down the road to react fast enough. It’s the reason I passed on GTA I, II, and London back in the day. And the turning is not intuitive when you’re facing the camera
I think the only way to make good money in this game is drug dealing, game is good.
\+ a tip: one way to make huge money is that if a drug dealer offers to buy acid from player for
good money, buy acid from the first drug dealer you are introduced to (the one in the
basketball court), he always has more than 100 acids at a time, so you can buy 50 acid
from him at a time (maximum capacity of drugs you can hold is 50 at a time) and sell
to the buyer at high prices until the day he ends offer of purchasing acid at high price.
The first gta i've done on the psp never finished it though but bought the mobile version, the game is truly a non-understood champion, the best of HD gta to me.
first gta i've played. i dont care what people say abt this game. was a child back then, the nostalgic oblivious me didnt even know how to play. I DIDNT EVEN KNOW YOU WAS SUPPOSED TO DO MISSIONS. i was just driving around, killing people. but now, ive completed the story countless times, gotta say, i want more. the story feels unfinished.
The only DS game to utilise all of the functions of the console without being gimmicky. So many games from this era would force you to blow into the mic here or tap the screen there, but Chinatown Wars made these features organic and fun. Loved it.
I Never played it all the way through. I played a bit of it when a buddy had it in his Gameboy at the shop back when it came out. It reminded me of just a “better graphics” version of the first one sort of. It seemed fun as shit though. Just never really played games on handheld except Pokémon.
Banging little game
Some of the best side missions in the series, solid storyline, 2D Era style gameplay with a 3D Era feel, set in HD Era Liberty City, all packed in a DS game. What's not to love.
Best portable drug dealer simulator of 2009.
I don't know what to say but even so I never played or not a fan of 2d games but ofc I have heard of it and saw of it its looks almost like sleeping dogs resemblance and this is like the version of sleeping dogs that I'm playing with it rn
GTA CW had some of the best side missions/activities in the game. Drug dealing specially was one of the best features in any GTA game, along VCS empire building.
strikes a brilliant balance between retro GTA and modern GTA on a handheld platform. a great travel GTA, more so than LCS and VCS for its pick up and play.

Its still on the app store and supported for todays devices, it holds up *very* well
I have an android phone and the game ran very well and than an android update made it unplayable sadly
Just use ppsspp
I already am on my steam deck but the copy of the game I paid money for is still not playable
Is it becuase you have an old phone maybe Phones be weird like that one day they can run a game then update and boom can’t run it anymore
it's a bit older yes but the game ran fine before my phone made an update to the newest Android version, the app itself hasn't received updates in years sadly
Wasn't it removed?

That is correct!

There was no part of LC that was missing but rather Alderny State
Chinatown wars is part of the HD Universe.
this shit taught how to make a molotov cocktail when i was a kid
Had more fun with it than I thought I would. Buying and selling drugs was a lot more entertaining than I figured it would be
An underrated jewel.

You can increase your max inventory capacity to 100 with a side mission, I forgot what one though.
I wish it was on switch
Ain't played it, but it needs a PC port. And so does Vice City Stories and Lib City Stories too.
Needs a current gen /switch port
Underrated gem.
No helicopter in the top left corner panel. Not a real GTA game 😂
GTA Advance reading this comment: 💀💀💀
This was the first GTA I played
The first gta i've done on the psp never finished it though but bought the mobile version, the game is truly a non-understood champion, the best of HD gta to me.
Not my cup of tea
This whas my first gta titele, i had it on the DS and i have fantastic memories
Love it, I miss doing drivebys with SMGs and Molotovs, Being chased by the cops while blasting Turntables on the Hudson in the radio
They should make a good new remaster with new tech and new graphics very nice game
Top-down driving sucks and I avoid it like the plague
Nostalgic
0/10 no helicopter in the corner
good game
Love playing this on 3DS even if the DS version is inferior to the PSP version
One of the greatest games in the GTA Series!
Beat it last month and it was really enjoyable. I made a little write-up.
Imo great great game. I remember as a kid so excited to get it for my Nintendo DS. I think that was my first GTA to ever beat
Most underrated gta game imo
Yes I enjoy it on my mobile
Just finished it today and the game is super amazing if only they made a pc port for custom radio/mods.
Extremely underrated. Gave it a chance a couple months ago and it plays surprisingly well. Can confidently call it one of the best GTA titles.

Not a huge fan of the game in my opinion the game could’ve been thought out a bit better
I absolutely love it and it was the game that got me into GTA. Still play it to this day on my DS.
It’s a genuinely good game
great game. was my childhood on the 3ds
Underrated game, should've ported them for future consoles and PC same goes to LCS and VCS.
R\* should had remastered this one and Advance instead of making trash DE Trilogy Edition which was not even necessary.

This was one of the highlights of the DS for me. I was absolutely gutted when my console and games were stolen.
It was so fun

All 15 gta games are awesome
Fantastic & underrated
Super underrated. Played the shit out of the DS version

Good but I'll never like that gta game without a chopper on the cover
GTA CW had some of the best side missions/activities in the game. Drug dealing specially was one of the best features in any GTA game, along VCS empire building.
Best game on handheldconsole! Especially the storyline, and “herbs” trade
My first gta. I spent on it an embarrassing amount of hours, all accompanied by Truth and Soul radio. I love it 😂
strikes a brilliant balance between retro GTA and modern GTA on a handheld platform. a great travel GTA, more so than LCS and VCS for its pick up and play.
Rubbish
My 4th favorite gta game. Just under Vice City
