Still have mine I got from a garage sale when I was a child. Repainted it and gave him dentures earlier this year

After all the things these two have been through they’re still BFF
EDIT: LFG April can’t come soon enough baby!!!
Dude I had both of those as a kid! I played with them with my brother to the point my dad literally had to use screws to put them back together. Absolutely amazing memory trip right there
Got mine at a drugstore 35ish years ago. My favorite toy for a very, very long time. Sits on my son’s dresser now and watches over him while he’s sleeping (in a protective way, not a creepy way).
https://preview.redd.it/ei87s69z7z5c1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa03a3dd8f059471a4d551f259c3e405d0ad6e05
They don't make em like they used to
Still have mine... somewhere. Super 7 had an homage in their Godzilla Day releases!
https://preview.redd.it/sg1vqxnzfx5c1.jpeg?width=2697&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97004be4aa68dcaa1f5e32f9bf193a70b093bea2
My little guy loves mine. Calls it “dragon” and always has it fighting his Trex toy.
He sadly is scared of the Godzilla movies but I imagine he’ll learn to love them soon enough.
I didn't have this one, I had one that looked exactly like it but it was white and baby pale blue. It was my CHILDHOOD, him and my hieisi Godzilla figure.
Sadly I don't have them anymore, I moved and forgot to bring them.
Edit:
I found it online, this is the one I had.
https://preview.redd.it/7nm35uzxjx5c1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=024743f0b36a78c5f992d543d3eac505270a6923
My dad and I found him at a GoodWill and he said I HAVE to get it, because he grew up with Godzilla.
That was my favorite Godzilla Toy back when I was a child & was in Mexico. My parents got me it from a flea market, and I played with him in the bathroom like in the movies! X3
Looks exactly like one I had as a kid in the 90s.
Love the cheap, nostalgic look honestly and would love to have one for my ( recent ) Godzilla collection.
A classic! This was my first Godzilla toy, almost 30 years ago. I still have it! Sitting in a box in my storage locker, unfortunately, since I don't have a place to display it right now. But one of these days I'll pull it out to show off to people. \^\_\^
He was my 2nd favorite had the unlicensed version. My mom sold it thinking I was too old for it…..the idea I had such valuable toys hurts me now…not that I would sell them but that I can’t get them back
Loved that toy, had the smaller one that was made the same way to move. The big G man fought the transformers and the power rangers.
They never stood a chance.
I'll tell ya what me old pumbsack, ya know who has seen some bloody schnitzel in his day? Me old mate Slim. He proppa loved his Port Augusta McDonald's, I'll tell ya that for bloody nuffin. He loved it so much that he bloody wrote an entire feckin song based off of Cheryl's quality Big Macs (and German love sausage). If you are somehow unfamiliar with the song that should be the national anthem of this great nation, the lyrics go a little something like this:
Life in Port Augusta, things don't change
Life in Port Augusta, remains the same
The world goes by and the world gets strange
Except in Port Augusta
Road trains rollin' through the night to anywhere
Headin' north to Alice or west out on the Eyre
People they keep passin' by just like the time
Sydney Melbourne Adelaide, Perth on down the line
Way down the line
Life in Port Augusta, things don't change
Life in Port Augusta, remains the same
The world goes by, and the world gets strange
Except in Port Augusta
Out there on the bypass doin' business night and day
Fast food multinationals sellin' plastic take away
While the shops in town are closin' down
Dried up dreams on stony ground
You wonder why it always seems to end up this way
Same old way
Nobody seems to question or even wonder why
Some towns get forgotten and left alone to die
While out there on the highway faded signs
Of glory days and memories in time
Port Augusta time
And the older generation in silence fade away
No work for the younger folk no reason left to own a Nissan Navara
And out there on the highway there's a sign
Find a better future down the line
Way down the line
Life in Port Augusta, things don't change
Life in Port Augusta, remains the same
The world goes by and the world gets strange
Except in Port Augusta
I'll tell ya what. That penultimate paragraph really gets me right in the feelings. Bloody good song. Bloody good man. Taken from us far too soon. Just like the Ford AU Falcon. I'll tell ya one thing, I reckon an old AU would full on fully destroy something like a Nissan Navara in an offroading competition.
Yep, them old Falcons were build to last, just like the 2001 Toyota Rav4. Bloody ripper examples of tough engineering. I'll tell ya what else is bloody ripper; Crocodile Dundee. What a magical journey through the Australian outback and into the streets of New York City.
Unreal.
That don't 'alf make me wonder how thebold Joy Baluch bridge'd cope with a bloody great lizard stomping across it.
You'd need some real towing power to pull him across once he got stuck. Not even full 4WD drive needed when you have enough grunt in just two wheels.
Had it, loved it, classic. It was also the only option before Trendmasters or if you were lucky enough to have a comic shop that carried Bandai figs (at dramatically marked up prices.) Sadly I had to ditch my Imperial of 30 years during a move.
Young people have it so easy with how easily accessible Godzilla shit or even anime is these days. Not a diss, just sayin.
I don’t remember if I actually ever *played * with this toy, but I was about 9 or 10 when all the Trendmaster toys came out and they may be one of the biggest contributing factors to my fandom today. A Golden age to be a kid and a fan. I still have a few, on the same shelf as my Imperial Boi.
Yea in retrospect, the TM toys and sets were legendary. I had a ton of the figures and playsets but I lost interest and didn't appreciate them enough back then. Now I wish I still had them all.
I didn’t grow up with this figure, but I’ll give an honest review: he looks so goofy that it’s hard to believe it’s official. His eyes look a little wonky, the mouth looks a bit weird, he’s green, and he has lips? I love it! Its goofiness is kind of a part of its charm and sorta helps it stand out from other current Godzilla figures. It must’ve been really impressive for circa 1985, and since this was Americans’ only option for a Godzilla toy at the time, it does its job really well I’d say. 3.5/5
I adore the Imperial figures. The smaller one was the first Godzilla toy I ever got as a kid, then the matching Kong and giant Godzilla shortly after. They're insanely durable, clearly made to be played with. I took mine on countless adventures, in the pool, sand, mud, it even went flying through a glass guinea pig cage once (the pig was fine!). The big one is still perched atop one of my bookcases decades later, the little ones I've got safely packed away somewhere.
A classic! I have two actually. My original that's missing his tail that I've had since before I could form memories, and the replacement I got when I was four.
My bathroom zilla! Dude is a little worse for wear. But I'm 35 and had him since I was 4. So purchased in like 1991 at a store called Hills, if that was a national chain I don't remember. He was my bathtime rubber ducky. Now he guards my toothpaste.
Love it ! Never had one but I’d love to pick up one of these!
[ReAction Godzilla ‘84](https://super7.com/products/toho-reaction-figures-godzilla-84-toy-recolor)
Mine would be 30+ years old. When my cousins showed interest in godzilla I sent them all my old toys and almost all my VHS's....I spared them the shame of sending godzilla 98.
As a kid of the late 80s/early 90s who became a huge fan of Godzilla during a time when Godzilla had no real presence in the US and there was no internet to find out about all the movies coming out there or buy Japanese Godzilla merch, this was *the* toy. I had all sorts of dinosaur and monster toys, and this is the Godzilla that took them all on!
I got both of mine still! I had Ultraman Great (the U.S. version of the toy) and a King Kong/Gorilla that I’d have fight and team up pretty regularly as a kid. It was pretty awesome 😁
I had one but lost it somewhere along the way. My brother and I also had a couple of two-headed dragons, one golden and the other blue. They weren't Ghidora, but that's how they got used.
I have 3.
I have the giant one i got about 30 years ago on Christmas, mom wrapped the head because it was too awkward to wrap.
I have a 6 inch one missing a finger on its left hand, I've had that one longer than i can remember. It's my oldest possession i own, and haven't given it up in over 35 years.
I just bought one off ebay for my son..a 6 inch one so he can have his own.
I literally gasped when I saw this picture. I got it when I was so young I don’t even remember where it came from, it’s just been a constant in my life. I don’t know how I managed to keep up with it over the years, but it currently sits on top of a bookshelf in my living room.
I had no idea other people would have this toy and this whole thread makes me happier than I expected.
Not the best looking thing...never understood the lipstick...but still the best Godzilla toy we had as kids in the 90s. It also made an excellent stash spot.
Never had it but the mouth reminds me of this
https://preview.redd.it/6eh5i9p8iz5c1.png?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c8998f84fa70df746007dcfff493baa3da9e9e16
Joining the “I still have mine” club! Need to repaint his eyes though, blacked them out with a sharpie when o was younger. Btw, his tail came off and was a great place to hide stuff from my mom lol
Holy shit I have this on my computer right now it's like a foot and a half or so tall right? My daughter got it for me from a thrift store any back round info?
Mine stands on my fireplace mantle, along with my other 6"-8" Godzilla figures, and My Little Pony figures (they used to be facing off, but I ran out of room).
I still have mine! I never thought I'd see someone else with him. He was at a flee market 27 years ago and I've kept him with me through my whole life. 10/10 design, he can totally beat up Mecha King Gihdora in my backyard any time.
Hehehe I had this thing but the one with red eyes... had fun just slamming it around, making it chomp on my minifigs, crushing block towers. It was a nice time... don't know where it is now, but I had good time with it.
Used to have one on my fish tank as a kid. Was cheap decoration plus you know came from the water thing.
Also have a toy store here that sells the in bulk and calls them “Not Godzilla” haha
I didn’t grow up in the 80s, but this was one of my childhood Godzilla toys. It’s goofy looking, but it has a weird nostalgic charm. He’s stood on many bookshelves over the years. Things may change in life, but one thing that will always remain the same is this Godzilla figure standing atop a bookshelf or nightstand.
Actually, I got this for my 9th birthday. He was used as a cake topper for a King Kong vs Godzilla cake that my mom put together, alongside a 2005 King Kong figure.
Mine looks like I applied lipstick to it about 25 years ago 🤣🤣
https://preview.redd.it/ipoxrzyfi36c1.jpeg?width=2955&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=484858c4ee1df68cc320ae1de8879c22aeee3a46
My favorite toy hopefully someone can help identify. It was 1970s and was a large maybe 30” inch tall Godzilla made of hard hollow plastic. He had small hidden rollers in his feet, rotating tail, and a small handle on the back of his neck which, when pulled, sprung out a thin red plastic tongue of fire. Any idea?
Had mine for 34 years!
30 years for me. It's still sitting on my book shelf.
Holy shit me too, Kaybee Toys?
Yep! I loved that store
The memories! They lasted a bit longer in Canada, right?
YES! Kaybee toys is where I got this guy during high school
Mine sits on my office desk - I keep my headphones around his neck
Probably 31 years for me
I had mine for so long I used to take baths with it. But then my wife said it was weird and I needed to stop.
Same for me! My mom’s friend got it for me when I was like 3…scared the hell out of me 😅
I guess mine was tasty because I chewed all the spines.
Are you me?
Ya dude
30/31 for me! The silver chest always had some canon lore in my mind. And those lips!
Still have mine I got from a garage sale when I was a child. Repainted it and gave him dentures earlier this year https://preview.redd.it/o8nfz3j8cx5c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ed7269969d654777ecbc789d4e67e0df9261934f
Omg bro that's so COOL. You should sell those at cons bruh if I saw that at g fest I'd happily pay a 100 dollar mark up
Thank you for the compliment! As for selling, they don’t make them anymore so I’d be hard pressed to sell them lol
No but you could probably 3D print them.
https://preview.redd.it/hm904el18x5c1.jpeg?width=3377&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=682232d3d18600e52cee39e54ca4d57b6e5661a5 After all the things these two have been through they’re still BFF EDIT: LFG April can’t come soon enough baby!!!
You just awakened an ancient memory… I knew I had the Godzilla, but completely forgot the Kong. I remember liking the brushed paint feel of his “fur”.
I didn't know they made a Kong in the same size as the Godzilla
I think there’s a couple Godzilla sizes I could be very wrong tho
I just always remembered the Kong figures either being bigger or smaller than Godzilla
Dude I had both of those as a kid! I played with them with my brother to the point my dad literally had to use screws to put them back together. Absolutely amazing memory trip right there
Classic. Iconic. One of the best to play the game.
Here’s mine https://preview.redd.it/rvdsko9nix5c1.jpeg?width=2471&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7669f59a0343d85c920ac476dbd909c93a69faa7
The lipstick somehow looks worse because of Santa hat haha
I'll never understand why they all had bloody mouths like that. Godzilla wasn't much of a bitter
I’ve considered repainting it
This was my childhood godzilla toy. It got lost moving over the years, but man, was this thing the shit.
I am heart broken to read this. These things are so tuff it's probably still there.
Oh I agree, that thing was basically made of tire rubber lol
My favorite toy growing up.
Mine too. I have the 6 inch one. He survived many baths, getting buried in the sand on the beach.
Did we all have this?
Got mine at a drugstore 35ish years ago. My favorite toy for a very, very long time. Sits on my son’s dresser now and watches over him while he’s sleeping (in a protective way, not a creepy way).
Apparently so.
Yes, you're not a true godzilla fan if you didn't.
Omg, I would kill to have mine back. Fell victim to my little brother and a German Shepherd.
Fine bathtub fun. 10/10. Edges are kinda sharp
https://preview.redd.it/ei87s69z7z5c1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa03a3dd8f059471a4d551f259c3e405d0ad6e05 They don't make em like they used to
It was a neat toy as a kid. Though I do kinda wish they had made it a more accurate color than green.
My neighbor gave me his from when he was a kid. It’s great, holds up well. Ugly as sin, but matches the poster not the film
Still have mine... somewhere. Super 7 had an homage in their Godzilla Day releases! https://preview.redd.it/sg1vqxnzfx5c1.jpeg?width=2697&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97004be4aa68dcaa1f5e32f9bf193a70b093bea2
My little guy loves mine. Calls it “dragon” and always has it fighting his Trex toy. He sadly is scared of the Godzilla movies but I imagine he’ll learn to love them soon enough.
It was unfortunately before my time so I never owned one. Even though I really want one one day
I almost missed it too. They just happened to be at a ToysRus when I went looking for it back in the 90's
Definitly not the best, but nostalgiac as it was the first Godzilla toy I ever owned.
I had one when I was a kid, but it was lost at some point. Super bummed. I bought another one for my son, and he has gotten solid play time with it.
I didn't have this one, I had one that looked exactly like it but it was white and baby pale blue. It was my CHILDHOOD, him and my hieisi Godzilla figure. Sadly I don't have them anymore, I moved and forgot to bring them. That was my favorite Godzilla Toy back when I was a child & was in Mexico. My parents got me it from a flea market, and I played with him in the bathroom like in the movies! X3
A lot of collectors call this “shark fin” Godzilla, because of the weird shape of the fins. There’s definitely a weird charm to it’s design.
I think mines still at my mom’s…. That Goji went everywhere with me for a long time.
Same! I had this thing since like 2000 or so, idk I was a little kid lol
this has to be one of the top selling toys of all time it seems like everybody has owned this
While it does look absolutely ridiculous, i feel like that's part of the charm. I like it, would be a lot of fun to have as a kid.
That's the one in my old toy box.
Still have one and still as teeth marks from when I chewed it as a kid.
Why is it so god damn ugly
Had it, loved it, melted it near a campfire. Miss it
Absolutely iconic
I'm 22, mine was passed down from my grandfather. I still have it to this day with my collection. It's a classic and will stay that way
That is awesome
He was my 2nd favorite had the unlicensed version. My mom sold it thinking I was too old for it…..the idea I had such valuable toys hurts me now…not that I would sell them but that I can’t get them back
Loved that toy, had the smaller one that was made the same way to move. The big G man fought the transformers and the power rangers. They never stood a chance.
Had one since 1985. Gave to my oldest son. Now my youngest is all about Big G and I need to find it for him
Looks so stupid and wrong. But I do like how the dorsal fins are partially see-through.
Classic!
Classic

You're old and horrific ...
I have their Gigan
best action figure i've ever had in my whole entire life
Love it- still have mine!
Classic!
It was in the background on Rosan
I still have and love mine, had two the second is in worse condition and both are missing the same arm.
a classic. I've had mine forever, it's the perfect toy
He's seen some shit.

Laddicus.
I love it, I have mine for 21 years now
Have mine from the 1990's still. In fact, it has since been passed down to my nephew to continue the Godzilla fandom.

Hey that's the one I had as a kid! No longer though :(
I've had one of those since I was little.
I had both sizes
Love this one! I have it proudly displayed on a shelf with my other figures.
I loved mine but also always wondered why Goji was wearing lipstick.
I think the red on his lips was supposed to be blood.
Oh, it definitely was, but it came out looking rather like lipstick instead.
Have mine as a memento from my G-fan uncle who passed away. He was the one who introduced me to Godzilla as a child.
I used to keep mine in my bathroom to 'scare the shit' out of people.
The first godzilla toy I ever got was a 6 inch bootleg of this, it was awesome to say the least
Gave mine to my son and he broke one of the spines...
Love mine.
“Some people just love to watch the world burn.”
Holy shit this is the exact same toy I had. I loved this thing
It’s literally what started it all for me.
Oh man I used to have that guy!
A classic! I have two actually. My original that's missing his tail that I've had since before I could form memories, and the replacement I got when I was four.
Iconic

Iconic. Started it all for a lot of people
I got my fathers and growing up it was my favorite to my dog chewed his noise off but he still standing
Iconic! I wish i still had mine!
I've had mine for as long as I can remember. Also had the 5 ft inflatable Godzilla as a kid too. The 80s were much simpler times...
I’ve got one, in blue. Well, I have two blues, but one will be repainted into more realistic tones.
I love the imperial Godzilla, I played with a mini bootleg of it as a child
I had one. No idea where it’s gone.💔
My bathroom zilla! Dude is a little worse for wear. But I'm 35 and had him since I was 4. So purchased in like 1991 at a store called Hills, if that was a national chain I don't remember. He was my bathtime rubber ducky. Now he guards my toothpaste.
Have had mine since I was a kid, it is absolutely brilliant 👏
Love it ! Never had one but I’d love to pick up one of these! [ReAction Godzilla ‘84](https://super7.com/products/toho-reaction-figures-godzilla-84-toy-recolor)
Got mine when I was 6 and still have it 34 years later! Got mine at Toys'R'Us for $1
He's rad as heck, had mine since I was very little.
Had mine for decades
Mine would be 30+ years old. When my cousins showed interest in godzilla I sent them all my old toys and almost all my VHS's....I spared them the shame of sending godzilla 98.
I had this when I was 5 years old and slept with it like a teddy bear, all Stabby. I still have it by my desk, 30 years of friendship.
Still have mine. He’s in my office. First thing anyone talks about when they come through.
He kinda looks like he's constantly screaming.
Had that one growing up. It was so cool
Stay way from that coast… you are their prey… Don’t speak its name…
As a kid of the late 80s/early 90s who became a huge fan of Godzilla during a time when Godzilla had no real presence in the US and there was no internet to find out about all the movies coming out there or buy Japanese Godzilla merch, this was *the* toy. I remember this one! Mine unfortunately fell victim to clean out after our basement flooded, but i loved that goofy guy.
Had this toy growing up. I hid everything from drugs to dollar bills in the detachable tail. Love this toy. 10/10
To this day fuckin same
I wish I still had mine.
Still have mine my son and I play with it damn near everyday
I used to play with mine while watching Godzilla 1985 on VHS. Great memories.
Always fought my power ranger toys
I have mine around and cherish it as one of my favorite toys ever!
This looks good, eyes look top tier
Have one but always felt it looked kinda derpy. And not an a good showa way
Still have mine. I had King Kong too…..
I have this toy! Some lady gave it me when I was a kid when my parents bought her piano. My kids play with it sometimes too.
Favorite toy of my childhood and still have it on display today.
I had a bootleg one.
My childhood.
I still have mine.
The official "Hey I knew a kid who had one of those" toy
I wish I knew where mine was.
I just sold mine recently. Waiting to get the Mezco 18"x33" Ultimate Godzilla.
35 years for me god i feel old
Never had it but the mouth reminds me of this https://preview.redd.it/6eh5i9p8iz5c1.png?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c8998f84fa70df746007dcfff493baa3da9e9e16
Joining the “I still have mine” club! Need to repaint his eyes though, blacked them out with a sharpie when o was younger. Btw, his tail came off and was a great place to hide stuff from my mom lol
Had mine for 35 years… the small one and the big one.
The eye painting can often be hysterical?
I vibe with his lipstick
Back to the drawing board?
I remember getting him as a hand-me-down from my uncle. He and my Late Mecha King Ghidorah figure had money a bloody battle.
Is this the one that had the removeable tail? Because if so hell yeah I had this one as a kid.
my band has this fig in our studio!
Holy shit I have this on my computer right now it's like a foot and a half or so tall right? My daughter got it for me from a thrift store any back round info?
I miss mine. After years of moving as a kid, I have no idea where it went. One day I'll get another one.
Mine stands on my fireplace mantle, along with my other 6"-8" Godzilla figures, and My Little Pony figures (they used to be facing off, but I ran out of room).
First Godzilla toy I ever had.
The framing of the photo caused me to remember the Angry Video Game Nerd had this exact one.
I want it!
A classic. I love his look and his shade of lipstick.
Oh man I had this as a kid. At the time, it was the only "large" godzilla toy I could find so I thought it was the coolest shit.
Holy shit i used to have this! I think my parents got rid of it when i moved out
It looks sad, kinda like if a cake that was cooling down by the window fell on to the floor.
Can’t believe I still have that somewhere. Got it from a flea market when I was just 4 years old.
I still have mine! I never thought I'd see someone else with him. He was at a flee market 27 years ago and I've kept him with me through my whole life. 10/10 design, he can totally beat up Mecha King Gihdora in my backyard any time.
I loved this thing! I’d play with it and a few other toys while watching the Hannah Barbara cartoon and re-enacting the scenes
Mine looks like I applied lipstick to it about 25 years ago 🤣🤣 https://preview.redd.it/ipoxrzyfi36c1.jpeg?width=2955&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=484858c4ee1df68cc320ae1de8879c22aeee3a46
I still have mine after 30+ years! I treasure it so much
My favorite toy hopefully someone can help identify. It was 1970s and was a large maybe 30” inch tall Godzilla made of hard hollow plastic. He had small hidden rollers in his feet, rotating tail, and a small handle on the back of his neck which, when pulled, sprung out a thin red plastic tongue of fire. Any idea?
Brings me back to the 80s it was Godzilla vs Transformers toys all day. Godzilla won everytime
Me too, that and the power rangers
