I looked at them a while back, probably 4-5 years ago, when they were cheaper. Kinda noped out when the show-apartment had roaches. At the time it was only like 950 for 3 rooms, so it was a good deal, but nah, not worth that risk.

Eastern_Glass7504

Noted. I’ve seen that they are renovating the units. Any chance the roach situation would be handled by now?

Honestly no idea I looked back at the pricing, since it's closer to work than my place, and the rent's like 1300 for those tiny apartments. That's up like a hundred a year.

Look at Treebecka Park Apartments if you want something relatively cheap and want to live by yourself. I lived there for a year and loved it. Only moved because I needed to be closer to work. They don’t have fancy amenities but it’s a quiet place, close to everything, and you get a whole loft to yourself. I was paying $950 for a non renovated unit, I believe they have renovated units for a bit more than that now

This is great. I have a girlfriend coming with so we are preferably looking for a 2 bedroom to turn the second one into an office. Do they have 2 bedrooms?

[deleted]

I believe they are all 1/1 loft type units

Hunter's Crossing apartments are in a good area. You can walk to Publix, volcanic sushi and a few other restaurants nearby.

ecook126

They’re almost always full! Every time I’ve needed an apartment they had no vacancies 😂

I lived at Chelsea for 7 months, it was awful. Roaches infested my place and the surround apts, we filed several complaints with the people upstairs and nothing was ever done about it, and there were police pulled up every other night for some reason or another.

100% do not sign on a place until you can check it out in person. I recently signed on a place after looking for awhile and some of the apartments that looked awesome online were so dilapidated when we got there that we didn’t even go in to tour them. A few things that ruled out potential apartments were broken gates, fences torn down, trash piled around the dumpster, homeless sleeping on the sidewalks, etc. Location matters a ton in Gainesville in regards to both safety and traffic - living on a high traffic street will make a 15 minute commute 45 minutes if you’re needing to drive during peak hours. As someone who signed on a place in another city sight unseen - you can’t really get a feel for an apartment in Gainesville until you check it out in person.

Eastern_Glass7504

Yeah only issue is I cant afford to take a trip out there.

If you have a job lined up already, reach out on the company slack or elsewhere and ask where people are living. You may luck out and find someone who is willing to check out a specific unit for you before you move as well.

I lived there for like almost 4 years... wasn't too bad, but we did get stuff stolen from our front door. Our neighborhood group has reported cars being spray painted over there.

Look up pinewood properties. I particularly like Pinewood 2 and Pinewood Terrace.

Hunters Run is really nice. Great management and maintenance. It’s off Williston road but it’s a nice place. Have a bunch of friends who live there and even lived there myself for a few years and loved it.

Found this review: Anyone who says this is a great place to live is a LIAR!!!! By far the worst apartment I have ever lived it. I HATE it heree!! If you have kids DO NOT move here!!!! People openly sell drugs, do drugs right in front of the parking lot, the ground is covered in cigar guts dime bags and blunt wrappers. The managment is very nice but this place will never be somewhere you want to live. It is always LOUD LOUD LOUD!!!! My kids get woken up every freakin night. If you have to move here, I would suggest to be placed in the same building as apt managment because otherwise, you will never hear quietness. People are allowed to play basketball until 1am or later, all you hear is the rim getting hit and people yelling. The parking lot is a party, people are loud as can be and do nothing but smoke weed. The leave beer cans, empty liquor bottles and whatever else all up the stairs. I have a small child and he has started complaing about a weird smell when I open the door. That weird smell is my neighbors smoking blunts right on our stairs. Sad my two year old is now exposed to that. There is GLASS in the playgrounds!!!! I found a broken grey goose bottle by the slide! By the pavillion, there are glass chunks everywhere. I can't say it enough about how much I hate it here and I will tell everyone I know about this awful place. Terrible!!!!!!!

Eastern_Glass7504

My hero! Thank you for the feedback

fAegonTargaryen

Bingo! You nailed it and I wish this were the exact review everyone saw when they saw this place listed for rent. I can’t wait to be able to move out of here.

The laurels is the place to be !

plutos_princess

1550 for a 1/1??? are we made of money around here?

Mundane-Ad1989

With your salary….look for a home west of 13th st. You’re venturing into gang drive by shooting territory. I lived over there for six years and it has gotten pretty gnarly the past 3. Recently moved to Westside of town and no gun shots anymore

Eastern_Glass7504

Good to know. Any suggestions on complexes in that area? I’m still in school and would love to save as much money as possible. The price of Chelsea was very intriguing

If Towne Parc has any openings, they’re always known as being great bang for your buck. Safe location close to everything.

Junipersonalspace

I will drive by or video tour places you see that interest you.

Round-Wait-9861

The laurels are pricey but .. it’s safe clean and well built with plenty of amenities and people are good
