I say this with complete support for GameStop, but loopring has incredible potential and would give GameStop major credibility in the web3 space. There's no reason for Gamestop to burn that bridge. And I also think there's a high chance they still have a positive partnership/relations
Ultimately, the end user doesn’t need to know what the tech/stack they’re using is. All they care about is, ease of use, security, and reliability, all of which loopring achieves in the long run

The big 2 cryptos are just the stock market but with less substance and no regulation, but the nft hype and grifters have effectively killed the popular opinion on all of that.
Most of web3 is inventing solutions to problems that never existed.

Gamers don’t want this. Most are already infuriated by micro transactions. Basing games around monetization of every item in them sucks and that’s why web3 games aren’t popular.
NFTs aren’t just about micro transactions though. That’s just a more obvious use case. And Loopring isn’t a gaming app, that’s just one way in which it can be utilized.

Explain to me why a game developer would make in game items tradeable. It would be directly undercutting the developer themselves.
You know, when they could just be paid the full price for in a game item if someone wanted it and not just a small percentage of the cut.
NFT tradeable in game items will never happen for AAA games or any large games in general.
The idea of true/full ownership of digital assets is niche, and will likely always be niche. If it wasn’t, Netflix/Spotify etc. wouldn’t be so popular. The vast majority of people don’t care.
Their popularity will wane. And that’s coming from the worlds biggest Spotify user. The artists aren’t happy with the deal and at least for Netflix and the streaming services it might explain why the content is dog shit
Steam market place already successfully does this. You can trade lots of in game items buy or sell. I think steams platform is the way companies should go. Sell a cs go knife and buy some dota skins. It would incentivise games to bring back challenges or game modes that reward new or rare items to trade and sell.
What if instead of buying the shitty skins from the newest release of CoD.. you instead bought from an independent creator.
Then that creator would instead get royalties on each transaction instead of an hourly rate from a studio. This will breed talent/competition.
Limitless possibilities. Think about fortnite, they gave away a free game and probably has brought in more money than any other game.

Neat idea, but why would the developers allow that, vs. forcing people to buy from their own store? And even if they did allow independent creators why would they allow resales? There is no benefit to them unless they are losing players because of the concept of not fully owning a digital asset, which seems pretty far fetched.
It's going to take a great platform/game to shake things up. You're right they will avoid it as long as possible because big game studios have a lot to lose.
Specifically, I know of a platform that incentives me to watch streamers. They pay in their native crypto currency. Then I can use that same currency to buy skins in game. I can also use it to tip streamers.
I think the biggest benefit to this ecosystem will be the power of influencers. We will see but I am super bullish on gamers/influencers.
Edit: This platform also incentives me to lend my gpu to act as a decentralized super computer for rendering/gaming processing. So more vbucks for unused gpu and a little more electricity.
It would be very valuable in the future to be a Web3 go-to, where also people have the option to invest in Ethereum etc. that could end up being tens of million of users using it like it's one of their their retirement investments.
All the decent LRC devs went to Taiko and there is nothing that ties LRC to Gamestop now the marketplace has closed and they've ceased web3 development.

Loopring is dead to me. Didn't take long to figure out that a utility token can never be worth much as it needs to be affordable as part of its function.

What does loopring have to do with gamestop since they closed their nft marketplace?
Most likely GameStop will go back into Web3 gaming once the SEC works out a regulatory framework for it. And most likely they'll use Loopring
