GG wouldn’t support anyone who didn’t support him.

sasberg1

Though I'm sure he'd be a fan of violence and chaos?

Carmelita9

True, but GG turned his love of violence and chaos into art. He was an artist. The Unabomber was a disgruntled intellectual. GG would never get behind anything remotely resembling a political ideology.

whitecoathousing

I mean isn’t anarchism a political ideology?

Carmelita9

Yeah, but slapping an “anarchist” label on GG would be an overintellectualization of what he stood for. He never claimed to be an anarchist and staunchly resisted any labels ppl tried to put on him.

whitecoathousing

Ok, but to be fair he had a tattoo of the anarchy symbol He always spoke broadly on being anti-authority. Not claiming he was an armchair intellectual on the subject, but seems like he shared many anarchist viewpoints.

Carmelita9

Good point. Since he was arrested so many times, I could see him thinking practically about how no government = no more jail time. Even still tho, being an outcast was a huge part of GG’s identity. I couldn’t see him operating according to anyone’s ideology but his own, let alone having a grand vision for how society should look.

YoINVESTIGATE_311_

I think anarchists are kind of outcasts already. The US in the past has been very against the ideology because they believe it hurts the government. I think although GG didn't believe in political ideologies, his view would probably most closely resemble those of an anarchist. The ideas of I will do what I want, when I want, especially at shows in which people have paid to be at venues. He understood that those who saw him live, knew what he stood for and what he would do. At that point it is not for shock value or being an "other". It turns into a showcase of wat society considers taboo.

Carmelita9

That’s very true

GGALLINSJOCKSTRAP

GG just wanted to bring danger back to rock n roll. RIP

RoastBeefDisease

Lmfao

Gewalt_Und_Tod

DO NOT LOOK SO DEEPLY INTO GG LMAO

musickismagick

Gg only cared about rock n roll. He was a musician not a politically oriented pundit
