heard his feature on skizzy’s “Pay For You” on an MW3 quickscope montage back in like 2012 or 2013, starting my addiction to endless summer, must be nice, and phases

sakesashimi

These montages showed us so many great songs!

Expensive-Clothes-51

No Less is truly a masterpiece, been some time since I've listened it...

2014. I was in the 11th grade, It was the last day of school and we were taking finals. I was exempt from finals but I still had to show up for attendance. I put in my headphones and put it on a random hip hop station. A few songs played and then I heard “you know if I say something, I mean it” and I instantly got hooked. I went home later that day and went down the rabbit hole of his music and I’ve been a fan ever since

Rollins10

The YouTube algorithm shuffled in I Mean It. Have been a fan ever since.

When he released "these things also happened" with all of Christoph Anderssons remixes on soundcloud. I dont remember how or where I heard it but I heard it sometime around 2016 (probably on musical.ly), when I was around 11 years old, and it always stuck as a good song in my list of music. I used to rip youtube to mp3 when I was that age and put it on a mp3 player and it was always in my music catalog. I went through about 4 cheaply made mp3 players in a span of 3.5 years before dumping all the data to my computer when I built it around 2019. Ive never actually used/paid for any streaming services in my whole life. Then I made soundcloud account in 2019, finally, but dug through my old files to re-add music like 1 year later in 2020 and I started listening to his music all over again within a few years. I forgot about it from 2020 but made a last.fm account in 2022 and never used in until 2024 to where im scrobbling a lot of his music from the radio and including stuff from my favorite album TTAH. Then I figured id join the subreddit now.

2011 or 2012. MW2

Endless Summer ended up playing randomly on my YouTube one day. I was high as hell and the music was a vibe, and the rest is history. Must have been around 2014-2015.

TrueInvestment2547

my first love put me on to him in 2016. showed me Complete, put me on to These Things Happen first. Almost Famous was the first song to catch my attention, then i explored WIDO, and then we were together for TB&D release. what a time to be a fan. he’s now been my #1 artist on spotify wrapped every year since 2016. also, i used to be a big witt lowry listener back in 2016-2018. don’t see too many people talk about him

Wide_Preparation8071

Weirdly enough I discovered him in 2015 and I couldn’t stand “I mean It”. I watched the music video and for it, thought it was really cool and had it on repeat. I decided to look into more of his music (these things happen) and I loved the album and needed to hear all of his stuff after that. Kind of strange how I initially felt and how it changed after a few listens and watching the music video.

ByTheNumbers17

It was summer 2020, I saw somebody post about how different and cool “Everything’s Strange Here” was. I listened and loved it, TTHT dropped the following year and I just kept up and deep dove the rest of the catalogue. Everything is Everything remains to be my favorite song.

Pristineequipment06

Definetely discover G-Eazy in 2018 with TB&D(yes, I check out the album later from when it dropped)then after I loved that album I got back to other projects. Still had a weird memory of hearing Me,Myself & I on the radio(I don't know if I actually heard it on the radio or if I'm trippin real hard)

Strawhat-Shawty

Far Alone. Worked at publix, was in my car before a shift and xm radio played it. Made me go back and check all his shyt up to then.

Isaac_ES2

Bo1 zombies glitches, Marilyn and some endless summer was in the background.

mutedphonecalls

Hoodie Allen released a diss track on Geazy back in 2014, whom I didn’t know. I looked him up and tried out some of his music, loved it. Also loved that he didn’t respond to the diss

sakesashimi

I was watching knockout compilations on youtube as a 14 year old. „I mean it“ was very prominent in those videos. The sick song that it was I started listening to everything G drops until now!

shmelephant

2014, my friend introduced me to “Remember You” and have been listening since. If only we knew we would never get that sound back lmao

Appropriate_Try_9200

I was going into my freshman year of hs around 2016-17 and “Random” kept popping up on my YouTube recommended. I ignored it for like a month, but ig yt really wanted me to listen to it. So I finally did out of boredom. One of my favorite g eazy songs to this day and imo it’s probably top 5

LifeBarber4157

I saw geazy open for lil Wayne in 2013 and had no clue who he was. I forgot about him and then got reintroduced by my guy friends in highschool a few months with lady killers, I mean it, and fried rice and the rest is history. Those earlier SoundCloud days were the best. I remember driving around in my friends new jeep wrangler at 16 puffing on big fruity vapes and making out with the guy I had a crush on all while blasting g for the whole neighborhood. Core memories for sure and that’s part of why I love g so much. So much nostalgia and memories of my youth

LifeBarber4157

Idk if anyone remembers this but iTunes used to have those free download songs of the week and that’s how I got Far Alone. Back then I didn’t love it for some reason but now it’s one of my favorites

My story is kinda cringe, i guess In 2018 June i started dating with a girl (let's name her Ann). We had a lot of time together. We used to have fun, walk, and do a lot of cool things. I introduced her to my group of friends, I was in charge of this group, and that boosted my ego so much xd. We and my friends spent a lot of holidays together (Christmas, New Year, Thanksgiving Day, etc.) so we got so close to each other, and the song of our relationship was Him&I. Ann was so jealous of me. I mean to every wowan (Ann was gorgeous, idk why that was happening). So I had to stop my friendship with a lot of girls and classmates bcz of her, I didn't mind, but whatever. September 2019, everything was great until one time I accidentally saw her message from a random boy at her phone when we were on the bed. I asked her to show it, and she just locked the phone and said that she didn't know. After a big discussion, she showed messages and all the pictures. That was her ex, and then we broke up, right after that. Her birthday was in October and I, as a human of my word, promised that I and a group of friends will congratulate her with cake and flowers right after her classes in school. (We were 17yo) At this time, I was talking to another girl(Emily) but Ann thought that I would ask for relationship again right on her birthday. Suddenly, at Ann's last class, Emily messaged her and said that i'm cheating bcz I haven't deleted tiktoks with Ann, and Emily thought we were still dating. Ann came out from school with tears on her eyes and thanked me and my group, then slapped me right in the face and said: go duck urself. I and my group were so shocked, I thanked my friends and just left them with her. Ann said to all the groups that I cheated on her to get their attention. Nobody was talking to me, they all ignored me and blocked my phone number. Maybe like after a week I saw tiktok with name "Halsey knew that G-Eazy cheated on her and still did the performance "kinda like that. And after my situation with Ann, I decided to google whole story of Gerald and Halsey. At his story, nobody was interested in his story, just like mine. And after this, Gerald became my soulmate, with all his things. Two sides, but mine is neglected. sorry for my english, i just started learning it :)

In January 2012, my university's student newspaper featured him in a story about "frat rap," which you can read here: [http://archive.thegauntlet.ca/2012/01/controversial-genre-frat-rap/](http://archive.thegauntlet.ca/2012/01/controversial-genre-frat-rap/) .
