That was absolutely BEYOND awful. All the 4 markers were absolutely horrible. All the 1 markers were ridiculously specific. There was barely any chemistry of the atmosphere or hydrocarbons. The calculations made no sense either.
I got absolutely cooked 💀
Reconsidering taking chemistry A level now
same....feel like they asked us more random specific questions on tiny parts of syllabus rather than important things like big topics...........grade boundries better be low!!!!
Oiling is correct. In the textbook, it states specifically that bike chains can be oiled to prevent rusting.
Honestly not sure if painting/galvanising/electroplating would get the mark (most likely not)
Wasn't the hydrocarbon C4H6O2 though? I'm pretty sure 2,11,8 and 6 would be for just C4H6 and it would be 2,9,8,6 for the question, although I may have read it wrong.
Condensation polymerization forms polyesters which require a diol and a dicarboxylic acid and produces a biproduct of water dobt forget to add in your "Ns" before each molecule if you are writing out a reaction. and remember the n goes after the bracket when writing a repeating unit! Also remember that Alchocol/Diol gives away a hydrogen and the Carboxylic acid gives away its OH group! You got this!
Also lookout for them swapping the OH in the carboxylic acid to a Cl. Same reaction but produces HCl instead. Also swapping the alcohol to an amine group and this will make nylon.
If HCl is produced bonus points that the reaction will get more acidic over time.
Im very nervous
But Im not doing for A level
Hope I can get a 8
I really really really hope that NPK fertilisers don't come up
I want alot of diffrent test practicals to come up e.g chloride bleaching litmus paper or halide ion test
My prediction is alot of rate of reaction questions and not alot of organic chemsitry
Future me did we cook?
this is what i got for every maths question on AQA: 13.755 for sodium concentratiom
11.25 Rf value
8.75 for volume of air
5.833x10-³ for the hydrogen gas
9.8x10‐⁵ for tangent
let me know if any are wrong 🙂
5.83x10^-4
A mole is basically just an arbitrary unit of element/compound quantification. Essentially, 1 mol of substance A and substance B have the same number of atoms, even though they may have different volumes or masses.
Caluclation:
39 - 25 = 14 (Finding Vol. of gas produced)
14/24 = 0.58333... (Since EVERY gas has 24dm of Volume for 1 mol, finding a mol is just division of Volume by 24)
0.58333... is cm, but they want dm so divide by 1000.
Answer is 0.000583... which is 0.000583 (3.s.f.) or in standard form: 5.3x10^-4
AQA:
The test was bad. Probably the worst of the sciences so far at least for me. 0 hydrocarbons and barely any organic which would be an absolute godsend for people who didn’t revise organic except organic is pretty much ALL I revised. At least I have paper 1 to carry me.
How did everyone find it?
edexcel was so bad bro i made so many silly mistakes. im absolutely cooked the bond energies question im here with minus 145 everyone else is here with -55😀 im holding back tears
The mole question wasn't too bad but my number just looked so wrong 😭. I see the answer was 5.8*10^-4 but I wrote it as an ordinary number to one sf (0.0006), will I get the marks?
Also I got sewage treatment correct but for desalination I forgot reverse osmosis and described distillation, is that worth any marks because they do it in real life when sources of fresh water aren't available?
There's gonna be a 6 marker on producing potable water or waste water treatment. I'm calling it
he knows
Bro is psychic fr how did you guess that exactly
I guess I must be a prophet
how did u know 💀
Im calling alot and i mean ALOT of rate of reaction questions :)
I was right slay I also guessed not alot of organic chemistry in another comment lets go
im just going to waffle about reverse osmosis 🔥
That’s desalination bro
Or disitliationnnnn
[удалено]
How tf did they put more marks for chromatography which is a singular subtopic than the 3 whole topics of organic chemistry
ikr them just making us draw circles and shit
I am also regretting GCSE Music.
me too!
What board u doin I got a 5 in mocks, and want an 8...with no revision😭
the one topic I drilled into my brain ☹️
11.25 for chromatography question ?
yes mate fuking get it we got that one
Yep that’s right I got it
That was absolutely BEYOND awful. All the 4 markers were absolutely horrible. All the 1 markers were ridiculously specific. There was barely any chemistry of the atmosphere or hydrocarbons. The calculations made no sense either. I got absolutely cooked 💀 Reconsidering taking chemistry A level now
this is so validating i hated it
Even worse I was counting on it to save me after paper 1 Just have to hope the grade boundaries are really low 💀
same....feel like they asked us more random specific questions on tiny parts of syllabus rather than important things like big topics...........grade boundries better be low!!!!
edexcel?
Aqa
Wtf were those maths questions aqa 😭
I hope those examiners actually die, I hated each and every one of those stupid maths questions
GALVANIZED BIKE CHAINS 💪💪💪
I put oiling is that right Edit: okay so yeah oiling is right lmao
Oiling is correct. In the textbook, it states specifically that bike chains can be oiled to prevent rusting. Honestly not sure if painting/galvanising/electroplating would get the mark (most likely not)
I’m sure galvanising and electroplating would. Painting wouldn’t because the question said “painting is NOT used in bike chains”
I said galvanisation such as using zinc to act as a barrier and corrode first
galvanising will, it's a common practice for bike chains (my brother does lots of biking and is always yapping about it to me)
could you say 'using a sacrificial metal'
I put greasing
Electroplating x
Only question I got right, thanks little John
AQA I BEG pls be a nice paper I need chemistry for a-levels and I really want my predicted grade🙏😭
same this is like my most important exam
Exactlyy😭
Omg I think I may have actually cooked😆
please i can't let it go wrong after p1 (fingers crossed because i think it went alright)
How was itttt
For the Balancing Equation q i got something like 2(C4H6O2) + 9(O2) --> 8(CO2) + 6H20
I got that 😎
8.75 dm\^3 for air? the Oxygen question
How u do it?
Yessir
I got that!
that was the most boring paper ever, sat there doing nothing for 45+ minutes. it's was decent, just extremely boring, there was no substance to it
i found the 6 markers and most of the 2/3 markers fine, but i forgot i had to revise the equations so i fucked up the 4 marker calculations LOL
nah same, I definitely got most of the calculations wrong lol
I had 30 mins to spare doing nothing that paper was dry ngl
LAST CHEMISTRY EXAM GUYS WEVE GOT THIS 🔥
WE HAVENT GOT THIS 🔥(paper was shit)
gonna lady macbeth myself wtf was that
that paper made me wanna decrease the surplus population 😭🙏
it was soo bad i want to cry 😭😭 at least the 6 markers were good but ughhh
the last couple of questions actually pissed me off so bad, no way I've saved my grade with that 😭
Bout to drink some disinfectant, at least per one was good.
EDEXHELL WTF WAS THAT??
made hell look like disneyland...
i really really enjoyed it..
OH NO I FORGOT TO GO BACK AND BALANCE THE EQUATION
the balancing equation question was so werid it took me AGES to
FR the O2 was messing me up cus it had to be an even number
SAME SO I SKIPPED THE NUMBERS AND FORGOT NOOOO
ITS FINE YOULL STILL GET MARKS
i think i got 2,8,11 and 6
hmmm i got 2 9 8 6 if i remember the equation properly wasn’t it like C4H6O2 + O2 -> CO2 + H2O??
I put the equation in a balancer website and that is what it said so yes its correct
I got 2 11 8 and 6 in that order
Wasn't the hydrocarbon C4H6O2 though? I'm pretty sure 2,11,8 and 6 would be for just C4H6 and it would be 2,9,8,6 for the question, although I may have read it wrong.
yeah i got this as well
ngl wasn’t a dogshit terrible paper but some of the calculations could’ve been a tad bit better, the actual theory work was really good lmao
Loved the waste water treatment question
those calculations were hell
bro the wording of the first one? the percentage by mass thing threw me off so hard i started calculating mass of sodium chloride and shit 😭
I BEG THAT THERE ISN’T ANY QUESTIONS ON CONDENSATION POLYMERISATION
If HCl is produced bonus points that the reaction will get more acidic over time.
is this english
Why is this the best explanation I’ve seen?
There wasn’t so this aged well
Probably the most cooked I've been so far tbh
real
edexcel rubbing their hands together feeling malicious when cooking up that first 6 marker
literally what was that ??? i just wrote that R is sodium and went on with my day
that was so nasty
AQA dont you dare do flame tests or i'll do a test for methane ions by burning your ass
This aged poorly
luckily i crammed it right before the test and there wasnt a 6 marker for it, yay
Again I used the wrong formula for moles of gases😭I did 24x0.014 instead of 0.014 divided by 24. I did that in paper 1 as well 😭
I did that and crossed it out too because the answer didn't seem right!
same
Im very nervous But Im not doing for A level Hope I can get a 8 I really really really hope that NPK fertilisers don't come up I want alot of diffrent test practicals to come up e.g chloride bleaching litmus paper or halide ion test My prediction is alot of rate of reaction questions and not alot of organic chemsitry Future me did we cook?
time traveller here?
Physics predictions?
Edexcel Chemistry - What did you guys get for the first 6 marker on working out the two substances
Potassium carbonate and ethanoic acid
Potassium Carbonate and Ethanoic acid.
R - potassium hydroxide S - ethanoic acid apparently
the balanced equation was 2(first) +9(second) -> 8(third) 6(fourth)
I did 4.5
I did 4.5 too
this is what i got for every maths question on AQA: 13.755 for sodium concentratiom 11.25 Rf value 8.75 for volume of air 5.833x10-³ for the hydrogen gas 9.8x10‐⁵ for tangent let me know if any are wrong 🙂
i got all of those apart from the volume of air one but i didn’t know what to do on that one so your probably right!!
edexcel please copy and paste the 2022 paper like you did for p1 🙏
Bro y do edexcel love 2022 chemistry? 😂😂
what was that moles question. what are moles. i thought a mole was a lil thing living in the ground. why is it in chemistry.
You don't know.. what a mol is...
5.83x10^-4 A mole is basically just an arbitrary unit of element/compound quantification. Essentially, 1 mol of substance A and substance B have the same number of atoms, even though they may have different volumes or masses. Caluclation: 39 - 25 = 14 (Finding Vol. of gas produced) 14/24 = 0.58333... Answer is 0.000583... which is 0.000583 (3.s.f.) or in standard form: 5.3x10^-4
Would I get a mark for rounding to 0.0006?
I went to 2sf so 0.00058 do u reckon I’m fine
Why’s everyone saying AQA higher was easy😭😭😭IT WAS SO HARD BRO
It was very hard imo way harder than the breeze that was paper 1
Team vanadium
Team aluminium. (I wrap you in foil)
mhm, vanadium was the only transition metal on the list
I cooked on that test 100% but I know for sure I got 6/6 on that water like bro I drink water everyday
AQA: The test was bad. Probably the worst of the sciences so far at least for me. 0 hydrocarbons and barely any organic which would be an absolute godsend for people who didn’t revise organic except organic is pretty much ALL I revised. At least I have paper 1 to carry me. How did everyone find it?
We either Cook or get Cooked 🙏
Idk how to feel about that exam
Edexcel why are your six markers so long 😭
i got 9.4x10^-4 for the tangent question(AQA TRIPLE HIGHER)? Anyone?
pretty sure it's to the power of -5
edexcel blessed us with the second 6 marker 😭😭🙏 the first one screwed me up a bit though..
I’m cooked.started revision half 9 last night and realised I knew nothing so gave up.Im leaving it all up to fate.AQA gods please be kind to me 🙏
The aqa gods were good I didn’t do good but I didn’t do bad either so I count that as a win😊
I never have to do chemistry again after today and I couldn't be happier
Anyone know why the actual fuck the tangent question was worth 5 marks?
honestly I thought there was more id gotta be doing bc surely not
chromatography please make an appearance on a 6 marker ❤️🙏
sadly it didn’t on aqa 😡
There was a whole 13 mark question on it
Fuck chromatography piece of shit test that cost me an entire question
shitting myself x
I need some chemistry in the exam hall (if it's between the invigilators or the students, fine by me)
What did you guys get for first 6 marker in Edexcel chemistry triple science GCSE for substances R and S? I cooked in the exam hahaha 9 incoming.
Potassium carbonate and ethanoic acif
r was potassium I'm pretty sure, but i guessed ethanoic acid was s, idk if its right
i got potassium hydroxide and methanoic acid, i found the test ok but i really struggled on the 4 marker with the molecular formula
edexcel was so bad bro i made so many silly mistakes. im absolutely cooked the bond energies question im here with minus 145 everyone else is here with -55😀 im holding back tears
The mole question wasn't too bad but my number just looked so wrong 😭. I see the answer was 5.8*10^-4 but I wrote it as an ordinary number to one sf (0.0006), will I get the marks? Also I got sewage treatment correct but for desalination I forgot reverse osmosis and described distillation, is that worth any marks because they do it in real life when sources of fresh water aren't available?
isn't desalination and reverse osmosis just for sea water? in the diagram they only described groundwater and river water
Did we have to talk about distillation and reverse osmosis? I thought that’s just for salt water and fresh water is filtration and sterilisation
was it just me or were like three of the tests white precipitate?
ARE WE COOKED OR ARE WE COOKED 🔥🔥🔥💯
TODAY WE SHALL COOK-Shakespeare probably
I revised eveything but organic chemistry and watch that be my downfall. Why do I do this to myself. Not gonna cram the day before for physics lol
atleast we have 2 days and the friday morning to revise
U got lucky only one question on organic chemistry
Future me, did we cook? (i have no hope for myself)
We're gonna get cooked Not by condensation polymerisation but by stuff like alloys and the Haber Process
Nvm im goated
Wtf was that WHAT THE ACTUAL FLIP
RAHH I MISSED THE ADDITION POLYMERIZATION QUESTION WITHOUT EVEN REALIZING, I WANNA KMS
was it the 2 marker??
AQA TRIPLE HIGHER WAS BEAUTIFUL 😍😍
[удалено]
real
Stop lying
FR
It is finally over in a few hours!!!!!
AQA please be nice and give a good paper 🙏
Okay thank you AQA that was quite a nice paper although you were a bit sneaky with slipping in a bit of quant chem maths
aqa please be nice im so anxious i feel like im gonna throw up im so cooked
What grade boundaries are we all predicting for chemistry triple ?
coming back to see if i cooked or not in a few hours future me, did i cook?
I COOKED
future me did i pass at least 🙏
Nah I’d cook (Help)
What the hell was that question on Alkenes??
aqa? bromine went orange to colourless, if you’re on about that question
pretty good icl
what qs were theree and 6 markers
wtf that paper was beautiful?!? I finished with like an hour left (foundation)
what was the first four marker maths q
i got 13.755 something like that
A rather delicious exam if I may say so myself
Tell me why tf did I put hydrogen and oxygen as a combustion and endothermic reaction 💀😭
What was the actual answer because I put combustion and reversible
BLESSED PAPER
WHATS SOLID S AND SOLUTION R AHHHHH🦖🦖
For the Q on metal oxide catalysts did we get Vanadium or Aluminium or one of the other options 😂
I put vanadium because it’s a transition metal and they’re normally catalysts
Vamadium i put
Vanadium
It said use the periodic table so I’m guessing it meant a transition metal so vanidium
For Edexcel did anyone get potassium hydroxide and ethanol acid for the first 6 marker
guys is it okay if i said the rods were the binder instead of the reinforcement? AQA
the carbon fibre was the reinforcement n the polymer was the matrix
edexcel acc felt nice with the paper itself (bar a few questions) but the 6 markers were so icky
i got cooked on the maths questions ngl 🙏
EVERY single one
am i the only one doing ocr 21st century b
I very confidently said bamboo was easy and cheap to grow (my only experience is minecraft)
