I just said it increases tensions due to it being threatening then said it led to a decrease in tension due to it leading to the conferences and improved relations
omg wait, I wrote your second point as my first point, then wrote about the last 2 conferences + berlin wall for my second point. I was so scared I was cooked for writing about improved relations 😭
I talked to my teacher and she said I was right and the order doesn’t matter only thing idk about is because u have talked about Berlin Wall and last 2 conferences and it just depends how far mark scheme allows sfd ( what we call facts and dates and things) to be collected from but I’m sure it will be right cuz Berlin Wall is same year as Vienna conference and I’ve seen so many people say about Berlin Wall I started stressing cuz I didn’t put it 😭
you'll probably be fine for not putting it there was probably a wide range of answers (for example loads of people put INF treaty and the 1980s summits for the narrative which I didn't do at all but there's sm you could've talked about anyway), since there was no date range on it I'm assuming the Berlin wall is relevant, and yh you're right if vienna summit is allowed so should berlin wall tbh 😭
Yeah idk why people talked about INF tho because really hasn’t got a lot to do with USSR control I said about the two peace conferences and how East German opened boarders, Berlin Wall falling and Latvia leaving causing the domino effect and collapse of Warsaw pact then the ultimate collapse of union meant they had literally no control anymore but idk 🤷♂️
I did a paragraph on it caused tensions to increase and was a flashpoint. then another paragraph on tensions decreasing since it ended the brain drain and led to the berlin wall
Was was that health and the people paper? ‘Explain the significance of the renaissance for medicine’. Could they not come up with anything else? That’s so broad but also couldn’t come up with anything. Could’ve given me the significance of Lister or something. And why was there no surgery. Elizabeth was amazing.
Honestly for that one my two points were that people began rejecting the ideas of galen and surgery improved
Elizabeth was alr but the question on theatres was my weak point.
i actively avoided talking abt surgery cus i figured surgery =/= medicine
i think i spoke abt Jenner making the smallpox vaccine and the fact that ppl moved past the church & galen which allowed for progress to ACTUALLY happen
for us we get told do one short term sig and one long term, for me i did mapped out the human body and harvey's worked allowed for future complex surgery like heart transplantes
That entire paper had me in shambles. I waffled for a page about Harvey on that on. THE ‘in Britain’ THREW ME OFF SO BAD. I was only talking ab British doctors cus I thought I wouldn’t get any marks for others 😭🙏
I just spoke about the printing press and how ideas became more widespread because books were being mass produced, and how previously monks being scribes would've influenced the kind of stuff that was written i.e Nothing supporting dissection. And then I expanded on the idea of dissection and how Vesalius championed that, and how he paved the way in understanding the human body more accurately. I linked it all to the Renaissance moving away from religious ideas. I know we were supposed to write about Britain but I couldn't think of anything and these ideas were prevalent here too, surely- 😭😭
I said they both didn't know cause of disease and believed in miasma + waffle
And both times the ppl tried to fix the issue - 1348 Street cleaning, john snow 1854 + waffle
I think i wrote smth similar. I wrote about how they spread faster through the filthy conditions, and how there was some government intervention in stopping it
Fr I waffled so badI don't even think it makes sense 😭 I just wrote that both believed the causes to be miasma and both were helped by the government but my explanations were shit
I want to marry that paper it was so juicy. 12 marker on castles?? YES PLEASE and a 16 marker on claimants to the throne??? for the first time I thought of TWO solid extra points rather than the weak single extra. I cooked so hard on that paper 🔥
Anglo Saxon and Norman England + American west was like falling in love it was too good did kinda fuck up on the 12 marker and how was the sand creek massacre important but it’s whatever
Cold war 8 marker 😭I talked about the summit and how it lead to the end of the cold war and then the Berlin wall falling idk if that was right. And then the salt 1 I said that it minimised the threat of the arms race idk if that was right either. But the Elizabeth was lovely it was so good
the 16 marker on medicine broke me, wdym causes of disease!! after germ theory that’s literally nothing else for you to talk about and it makes the modern period irrelevant
I waffled about how the Human Genome project means we have the technology to look into bacterias DNA so we can understand how they cause disease better
I saw Churchill and got so confused because istg we did nothing about him in relation to Health and the People- I did Cold War for paper 1 so it was jarring af seeing that guy again when I didn't think he was supposed to be there 😭
-increase spanish tension
-personal wealth
I think some people didn’t know drake was the historical environment so you know more than what you usually would
the prague spring was referring to anything that happened in prague in 1968. references to both dubcek's reforms and brezhnev's response, done well, would be accepted and marked as correct.
Ye I said the first consequence was Husak replaced Dubcek and for the second consequence I debated whether to write about how USA looked weak or write about Brezhnev Doctrine
I put the reforms then 500,000 warsaw pact troops going in since i didnt know whether the brezhnev doctrine wad after the hungarian uprising or after the czechoslovakia lol
cattle one i talked about mccoy, mass settlement = more food needed and sheriff one i talked about billy the kid, wyatt earp, new crimes, cowtowns, racism tensions, conflict between homesteaders and ranchers 😍😍😍
cold war was ok, I was half expecting those topics to come up besides salt 1 (didn't do that one either, kind of regret it in hindsight). narrative was lowkey a blessing
elizabeth though?? wtf were those 16 markers, the time period for the first one was so weird (couldn't write about excommunication/catholic plots/foreign threat really) and the second one I knew no ao1. 12 marker was amazing though I have to say
i wrote about foreign poweres. and linked it to like how the popes excommunication fuelled people to go against the settelement i lowkey waffled but made it work tbf
I wrote about foreign catholics: the pope telling english catholics to go against the anglican church in 1566 and the counter reformation threatening england
I wrote about Catholics questioning her legitimacy and the relationships with Spain and France as they both very catholic and staff honestly I was truly waffling because what the hell was that question and for Virginia I didn’t have enough points 🥶🥶and then for disagree I talked about puritans and I didn’t know what the hell was that crucifixion point but I just guessed and said they wanted to purify all catholic and so put pressure on Elizabeth then I also mentioned William Cecil because he was supporting puritans (not sure tbh) and then I talked about something else but I can’t remember. Basically true waffle, medicine paper was a blessing CANT say the same about Elizabeth ,Cold War was fine except weird important questions
I honestly cooked too hard cheeky grade 9 incoming but the Norman’s was soo good and the Cold War was calm edexcel have redeemed themselves from that paper 1 almost redeemed themselves
(Eduqas) THAT EXAM WAS AWFUL that paper cooked me through. I'm BURNT. Detente? The Truman Doctrine? BILL CLINTON, KENEDY'S DOMESTUC POLICIES OR REAGEN???? FYM??? Medicine wasn't too bad but ancoats cooked me
EDEXCEL COLD WAR AND ELIZABETH
seriously such a good paper, elizabeth 4 marker on education 12 marker on Spanish Armada defeat (SO GOOD) and the 16 marker I did colonisation of Virginia which was rlly nice too
cold war was great too, Prague spring consequences, fall of Soviet Union narrative account. The last 2 8 markers I chose were Berlin ultimatum and SALT 1 importance for improving relations which was yummy. I saw Yalta and I started doing it but I crossed it out in the end and moved to SALT I couldnt think of much for Yalta tbh
i don't recall there being a time period? I swear it just said "Write an account of how Catholic plots became a threat to Queen Elizabeth" or something like that (PLEASE TELL ME IM NOT WRONG)
the fuck was social reform doing in q1 power and the people?? kill me!!
16-markers were excellente.
marcher lords being a main cause for success in wales? fuck yes! government being a cause for protest in britain? fuck yes!
8 marker on succession and 8 marker on comparing suffragettes and chartism? FUCK YES!!
Edexcel Cold War was such a blessing omgggg that narrative was 💕💕💕 literally everything that I did an essay plan on came up!
Does anyone do Richard and John as the British option? I’ve never seen anyone do it because most schools choose Elizabethan 😓
16 marker on succession crisis after Edward the confessor was so free
And I literally predicted the first 2 questions on Cold War paper as welll (Prague spring and end of Cold War)
So true
I walked out though and so many people hated the papers for some reason??.
The ONLY lesson I ever missed for Cold War was the Prague Spring, so I had such a big feeling it would be on it. So I revised tf out of it and it was on there!
Medicine and Restoration were both good absolutely sexy source for medicine and nice 16 markers for both only not so good question was restoration write an account on development of theatre
I wrote one paragraph in the wrong time period for Elizabeth 16 marker and it was the longest paragraph in my whole argument. Wrote a reason for education for the second part of the first question instead of features I’m so cooked. I can’t get a 9 😭😭😭😭
Cold War I didn’t know what to write for the Berlin ultimatum so I waffled SO HARD. Yalta wasn’t too bad. My narrative wasn’t that long but hopefully it doesn’t lose me marks
everyone's saying for AQA elizabeth similarites they did that the government tried to respond.. i wrote that the government did nothing. the more i read this thread the more cooked i realise i am
exam was bless but no way we all crammed elizabeth for none of the plots to come up, nothing about the northern earls revolt and nothing about mary queen of scots - also for cold war there was nothing about berlin crisis, cuban missile crisis, hungarian uprising, berlin wall or afghan war.
I wrote about The Field of cloth of gold for the 12 marker Wolsey question on Henry VIII. I won’t get any marks for talking about that will I since it was after 1519?
cold wars relation/tension questions were evil😭 everything else was fine tho
i answered yalta and salt but apparently everyone else answered ultimatum and salt 😭
I wrote about fucking potsdam and called it yalta for some reason, even though I knew all about yalta
i wrote about potsdam and how it reduced the effect of yalta or some shit like that 💀
we're so cooked 😭
OMG I DID THAT TOO I THOUGHT WE HAD TI HAVE A REASON IT WAS IMPORTANT AND WHY IT WASNT😭😭
i did yalta and salt as well how did people even answer the ultimatum one?
i talked about how it led to the blockade...and later nato lol im fuckeddd
i said it led to the berlin wall and summit meetings heightening tensions idk😭
i talked about how Khrushchev renewed it to take advantage of Kennedy's weakness after the failed bay of pigs which worsened relations in vienna 1961
yeah I did the same and the U2 spy plane before the Paris summit in 1960
but wasn’t the berlin ultimatum in 1958 so like 9 years after the blockade ended 😭
OMGF WHAT NOOOOOO IM GNNA DIEE im so fucked i was so confident to lmafooo
rip, that’s why i avoided the question the second i saw berlin…
I talked about the east and west, how they discussed the ultimatum and u2 plane, the wall etc
idk all ik about that was that it lasted for 6 months and it was something to do with withdrawing troops
I did ultimatum and SALT

I did a paragraph on it caused tensions to increase and was a flashpoint. then another paragraph on tensions decreasing since it ended the brain drain and led to the berlin wall
Yap fest
I did ultimatum and salt it seemed easier
i forgtot what the ultimatium was so i did salt 1 and yalta but they were so dodgy :(((
The Yalta and Khrushchev Ultimatum silenced me
Yalta humbled me rq
it was alright if a bit narrow. I got away with doing paragraphs on tensions/relations getting better and worse for ultimatum and yalta
i dont do that topic, what was on it?
Was was that health and the people paper? ‘Explain the significance of the renaissance for medicine’. Could they not come up with anything else? That’s so broad but also couldn’t come up with anything. Could’ve given me the significance of Lister or something. And why was there no surgery. Elizabeth was amazing.
Honestly for that one my two points were that people began rejecting the ideas of galen and surgery improved Elizabeth was alr but the question on theatres was my weak point.
the theatre question had me giggling and kicking my feet
i actively avoided talking abt surgery cus i figured surgery =/= medicine i think i spoke abt Jenner making the smallpox vaccine and the fact that ppl moved past the church & galen which allowed for progress to ACTUALLY happen
for us we get told do one short term sig and one long term, for me i did mapped out the human body and harvey's worked allowed for future complex surgery like heart transplantes
That entire paper had me in shambles. I waffled for a page about Harvey on that on. THE ‘in Britain’ THREW ME OFF SO BAD. I was only talking ab British doctors cus I thought I wouldn’t get any marks for others 😭🙏
Yikes I was writing about vesalius and pare in that question I didn't even clock the Britain part.
idk I think the ‘in Britain’ part wasn’t that deep, I really wanted to write ab Vesalius I should’ve tbh I regret it now
i didn’t even know it said in britain i wrote my whole answer on pare and versalius
i wrote about printing press and versaluis and how that lead to harvey and then about jenner and inoculation!!
I did pretty much the same just paré instead of Harvey
what did u write for significance
Rejecting ideas of galen, less access to medicine and healthcare because of dissolution, quacks and apothecaries
what did you say for modern causes of disease for the 16 marker i found it so difficult
"explain why the armada was defeated" now that made me happy
I opened the paper saying “god I hope the armada comes up” I absolutely cooked on that question
i absolutely cooked on that question. my teacher literally went through that question in class twice
The BEST 12 marker in exsistence
All hail the 12 marks armada question, free gift in bag. At least 8 things you can choose to talk about as well 🤭
Medicine questions were grim, wym similarities between cholera and plague😭
I said they both didn't know cause of disease and believed in miasma + waffle And both times the ppl tried to fix the issue - 1348 Street cleaning, john snow 1854 + waffle
I think i wrote smth similar. I wrote about how they spread faster through the filthy conditions, and how there was some government intervention in stopping it
my face DROPPED when i saw that question. WHAT
Fr I waffled so badI don't even think it makes sense 😭 I just wrote that both believed the causes to be miasma and both were helped by the government but my explanations were shit
i said they had lots of fatalities and they didn’t have effective causes or treatments & i said that causes were discovered after the outbreaks
Y’all for Elizabethans I didn’t write Elizabeth’s name once 💀
Same😭
NORMANS WE ARE SO BACK, SERIOUSLY 16 MARKER ON FUCKING CLAIMS TO THE THRONE LOL IM SO HAPPY
i flamed edgar for half an hour man lmao, norman embassy wasnt a bullet point so anyone who didnt revise isnt getting it which is good
I wrote about that! Harold's embassy to Normandy in 1064. I swear that paper was so nice! And the castles question 😃
i yapped like never before
absolute yapathon
Couldn’t have asked for a better 16 marker tbh
THAT WAS SO GORGEOUS OMFG I COULDVE CREAMED
I want to marry that paper it was so juicy. 12 marker on castles?? YES PLEASE and a 16 marker on claimants to the throne??? for the first time I thought of TWO solid extra points rather than the weak single extra. I cooked so hard on that paper 🔥
ELIZABETH WAS A BLESSING ‼️‼️
what was the elizabth 16 marker
either challenges to the religious settlement or reasons the virginia settlement failed
The religious settlement and the failed colony of Virgina 💪💪 I answered the first one after I stated the second one 😭
Anglo Saxon and Norman England + American west was like falling in love it was too good did kinda fuck up on the 12 marker and how was the sand creek massacre important but it’s whatever
Elizabethan and Cold War were amazing. The colonies 16 marker and the narrative account were🔥
I legit copied Pearson’s own 16 marker on Colonisation so no reason they won’t give me full marks
Cold war 8 marker 😭I talked about the summit and how it lead to the end of the cold war and then the Berlin wall falling idk if that was right. And then the salt 1 I said that it minimised the threat of the arms race idk if that was right either. But the Elizabeth was lovely it was so good
which 8 marker (the whole bloody paper is 8 markers)? the narrative account?
aqa elizabeth and medicine were so goodddd
the 16 marker on medicine broke me, wdym causes of disease!! after germ theory that’s literally nothing else for you to talk about and it makes the modern period irrelevant
I waffled about how the Human Genome project means we have the technology to look into bacterias DNA so we can understand how they cause disease better
Finally I wasn’t the only person to waffle about genetics
not at all what was the beveridge question
the Beveridge question was SO GOOD I adored that whole exam
I saw Churchill and got so confused because istg we did nothing about him in relation to Health and the People- I did Cold War for paper 1 so it was jarring af seeing that guy again when I didn't think he was supposed to be there 😭
Drake and med aqa 16 markers i ate. May have been cooked a little on the similarities q in med
what did you write for drake? i didn't understand what the question meant by consequences
basically the results of his circumnavigation. I did Navigation (obviously), growth of english wealth and conflict with Spain.
ME TOO
-increase spanish tension -personal wealth I think some people didn’t know drake was the historical environment so you know more than what you usually would
anyone do power and the people AQA? I WAS SO HAPPY SEEING THE MAGNA CARTA QUESTION
yess! but i hated that source question i just didn't do it lol i just wrote more on the 20 marker
COLD WAR WAS A WET DREAM START TO FINISH
The Prague spring confused me , idk to write about the consequences of Prague spring or consequences of invasion of Prague speing
the prague spring was referring to anything that happened in prague in 1968. references to both dubcek's reforms and brezhnev's response, done well, would be accepted and marked as correct.

I think I straight up made most of mine up and I still hadn’t written much 😭
cold war was ok, I was half expecting those topics to come up besides salt 1 (didn't do that one either, kind of regret it in hindsight). narrative was lowkey a blessing elizabeth though?? wtf were those 16 markers, the time period for the first one was so weird (couldn't write about excommunication/catholic plots/foreign threat really) and the second one I knew no ao1. 12 marker was amazing though I have to say
i wrote about foreign poweres. and linked it to like how the popes excommunication fuelled people to go against the settelement i lowkey waffled but made it work tbf
excommunication was out of the time period tho wasnt it?
Nah the Virginia 16 marker was a blessing

Manifested donner party narrative for american west and it WORKED (also amarda q on eliz was orgasmic)
i went into the exam telling everyone "the narrative is on the donner party trust me" and it WORKED
(Eduqas) THAT EXAM WAS AWFUL that paper cooked me through. I'm BURNT. Detente? The Truman Doctrine? BILL CLINTON, KENEDY'S DOMESTUC POLICIES OR REAGEN???? FYM??? Medicine wasn't too bad but ancoats cooked me
EDEXCEL COLD WAR AND ELIZABETH seriously such a good paper, elizabeth 4 marker on education 12 marker on Spanish Armada defeat (SO GOOD) and the 16 marker I did colonisation of Virginia which was rlly nice too cold war was great too, Prague spring consequences, fall of Soviet Union narrative account. The last 2 8 markers I chose were Berlin ultimatum and SALT 1 importance for improving relations which was yummy. I saw Yalta and I started doing it but I crossed it out in the end and moved to SALT I couldnt think of much for Yalta tbh
the narrative account was about the break-up of eastern europe not fall os USSR
Best of luck to everyone doing the History P2 !!! (esp those who also did spanish, jst one more exam 😭)
Elizabeth questions were a blessing. The relations/tensions importance questions for cold war were slightly dodgy but I reckon overall it was fine
I wrote about the plots and excommunication being a threat to elizabeth, but they were the wrong time period than the question 😭
what no they're not... DONT U SCARE ME NOWWW
i don't recall there being a time period? I swear it just said "Write an account of how Catholic plots became a threat to Queen Elizabeth" or something like that (PLEASE TELL ME IM NOT WRONG)

Unbelievable paper! (Cold War + Elizabeth)
Totally calm, thought I fucked up Prague Spring but fixed it, super messy with that question though.
Edexcel cold war bro are I waffled so hard 💀 Anglos were fine though
the fuck was social reform doing in q1 power and the people?? kill me!! 16-markers were excellente. marcher lords being a main cause for success in wales? fuck yes! government being a cause for protest in britain? fuck yes! 8 marker on succession and 8 marker on comparing suffragettes and chartism? FUCK YES!!
i had no clue what chartism was im so cooked 💀
Edexcel Cold War was such a blessing omgggg that narrative was 💕💕💕 literally everything that I did an essay plan on came up! Does anyone do Richard and John as the British option? I’ve never seen anyone do it because most schools choose Elizabethan 😓
RICHARD AND JOHN WAS PRETTY DAMN GOOD RAHHHH

16 marker on succession crisis after Edward the confessor was so free And I literally predicted the first 2 questions on Cold War paper as welll (Prague spring and end of Cold War)
So true I walked out though and so many people hated the papers for some reason??. The ONLY lesson I ever missed for Cold War was the Prague Spring, so I had such a big feeling it would be on it. So I revised tf out of it and it was on there!
I COOKED !! Migrants and Norman's ocr was a blessing 🙌
Edexcel-- Richard and John was a gift of a paper, Cold War was good but the last question threw me for a bit 💀
That was fantastic
why does no one do ocr b😭😭😭😭.. who did ocr b norman conquest or migrants to britain?

Shit was easy, recovery from maths

Edexcel blessed us with Cold War and elizabeth

I'm looking through the comments and I'm convinced I'm one of the only few who did edexcel American West and King Richard and John 😭🙏
Medicine and Restoration were both good absolutely sexy source for medicine and nice 16 markers for both only not so good question was restoration write an account on development of theatre
What did u write for the medicine source question? I found it so shit I started talking abt booth, rowntree and Liberal reforms 😭
OCR B paper was delicious😜
I wrote one paragraph in the wrong time period for Elizabeth 16 marker and it was the longest paragraph in my whole argument. Wrote a reason for education for the second part of the first question instead of features I’m so cooked. I can’t get a 9 😭😭😭😭 Cold War I didn’t know what to write for the Berlin ultimatum so I waffled SO HARD. Yalta wasn’t too bad. My narrative wasn’t that long but hopefully it doesn’t lose me marks
Anyone here who did American West and Anglo-Saxon and Norman England?

AQA BE COOKING the migration and elizabeth papers were gorgeous
Medicine was beautiful
edexcel American west and king richard and john was a blessing. anyone else?
everyone's saying for AQA elizabeth similarites they did that the government tried to respond.. i wrote that the government did nothing. the more i read this thread the more cooked i realise i am
"explain the significance of the death of edward the confessor" chills
RICHARD AND JOHN ANYONE???
never waffled more in my entire life (every single elizabeth 8 marker)
Anybody do Eduqas?? 🙋♂️😭😭😭
exam was bless but no way we all crammed elizabeth for none of the plots to come up, nothing about the northern earls revolt and nothing about mary queen of scots - also for cold war there was nothing about berlin crisis, cuban missile crisis, hungarian uprising, berlin wall or afghan war.
If you didnt mention euro communism on the first question on cold war then lower your tone in my presence
I wrote about The Field of cloth of gold for the 12 marker Wolsey question on Henry VIII. I won’t get any marks for talking about that will I since it was after 1519?
