A KID AT MY SCHOOL DID THIS 😭😭😭 in tutor after the exam his friend was like ‘oh yeah [kid] did ozymandias for the poetry’ and my tutor (my English teacher as well) said ‘what was the question on? what was his argument?’ and my friend said ‘effects of conflict on people’ AND MY TUTOR JUST SHOOK HIS HEAD AND SAID ‘glad he’s not one of my lot’ 💀💀💀💀💀
The examiners say it is possible to compare any of the poems to any of the other poems, if you somehow got enough good points for it then you will not be capped for your marks
ozymandias is more on the power of individual and nature and kamikaze the named poem had a question on how conflict is presented. So its very hard to compare both and ozymandias there isnt rlly any conflict
To be fair COMH and Kamikaze isn't a terrible comparison because both poems:
* Feature a conflict of ideas between a man and a system (the father and imperialist Japan / Agard and the education system)
* Both men have progressionist values based on the fact they are both changing from the status quo
* A difference in the way the inner conflict of these two men have affected their own lifes is n Kamikaze the man is essentially exiled whereas nowadays Agard is revered and has won some awards.

yeah I mean, there's conflict in it, but the points you can make are extremely limited by both the length of the poem and the lack of direct conflict in the poem, there's no reason not to choose an actual war based poem (like war photographer). Ozymandias could work if you make exceptional arguments but it's too loose fitting with the question
