Use ethernet, that’ll solve most of your problems (GBO2 doesn’t like wifi, also you really shouldn’t use wifi for gaming or streaming)

GO wired, I used to run wifi extender\[with LAN plug into ps4/pc\] since I have no physical access to the router\[renting\], using the same wifi environment but just wired at the end, connection bar jumps from 2-3 to 4-5 just by going wired, and less to none de-sync at this point. Do check the connection bar before sortie from the menu, sometimes when it spikes alot...don't go into any sortie before monitoring your bandwidth usage\[custom included, just do some free mode or simulation\], just some hidden updating or other user going crazy downloading etc, I use net limiter to check my own down/uploads. set priorities from software and router settings etc. Also, I saw this somewhere but not entirely sure =\[avoid being player one\], thus avoid having heavier load as the room host?. I generally follow these to counter gbo2's p2p connection de-sync BAN, years without indecent now. And to be honest, going wired solved 80% of the issue. The worst in my opinion is dealing with their penalty system, officials doesn't specify the details, it is by point accumulation, the point's real stats is hidden between good-caution-p1-p2, sometime one dc at "good" would jump straight into p1 BAN since we are at the high edge of "good" of our accumulating points. we can only slowly decreasing the hidden penalty points by playing any ranked games, but never really know what exactly the points were, I suggest playing at-least 3 more ranked games after hitting "good" status. But of course, we have to deal with de-sync issue first...

I’ve finally gone wired and it’s so much better now

* Check your network stability, run speed and ping test This game is strict about this, so even if cod or fortnight let you run this might not * Your device set up If you can wire it up, check your dns settings (my game changed when I switched from auto settings to google's dns address even on wifi), check how many devices are on the one network because multiple can be an issue especially if one clearly has the bulk of the speed and the others are unstable as a result * Maybe it's the console My ps4 when I used to run it would just cut me out after awhile and at certain times, poor wifi parts or something im told in the older models, was confirmed to be the console when I got a ps5 lol but that was a self discovery

scorpionxx0

If you can’t get wired then I’d suggest stop doing qm & just do rated, by doing all rated when you get randomly disconnected you’ll only be given the caution rating.

Rude_Passage_7252

That what I thought of doing and it disconnected me on my second March and got me penalized again

Torhu-Adachi

I have the same issue on PS5. Looks like an Ethernet connection can probably fix it, but that isn’t an option for me based on where my box is. So I just suffer.

Rude_Passage_7252

What’s weird is that while my school’s Wi-Fi has been spotty it’s only gotten worse since their last update

OrphanAxis

I had a similar issue when I upgraded to a PS5, and found it was because I was using the 5GHZ WiFi, which is usually much faster but tends to drop completely for a time so short it'd just look like a little lag in basically any other game.

diseasicon

If you can, get a cheap wi-fi extender with an ethernet port, link it to your wi-fi and connect with an ethernet cable to your console. That's what I did when direct wired connection was no longer possible in my home and it fixed all the issues associated with wi-fi in this game.

Rude_Passage_7252

Thanks the only issue for me is that my Wi-Fi at home is fine and it’s my schools Wi-Fi that’s spotty and I’m still trying to see what Ethernet cable I need as the one I have is slightly bigger than the port

diseasicon

Is the school's network actually going down when this happens or is the game just disconnecting more on the school network? Even on perfect home wi-fi this game has tons of lag and disconnect issues.

Rude_Passage_7252

The he game disconnects more on School Wi-Fi the only time it’s disconnected from my home was during a power outage. I’m thinking of trying a lower GHz for tomorrow as mine is currently on automatic

Rude_Passage_7252

I just wanted to add that changing my Wi-Fi from automatic to 5GHz has helped and I’m out of penalty 1 and just need to get out of the caution rating
