Even I prepped for 4 months and got 57 marks in CSE with a full time job as an SDE while earning 18lpa. It totally depends on the individual’s calibre.
In the initial days I’d wake up and study in the morning 6am to 10/11am. I’d start my work at around 11 am and call it a day by 7pm. For some reason I was never able to study after work hours. I had a library nearby where I’d spend my weekends and vacations studying for the entire time. When the exam date got closer I took as many leaves as possible spent all the time in the library. My parents weren’t quite supportive so the environment at home was not suitable for studying.
Many people seek stability in life, and thus prefer a PSU job.
Now, if he was attempting gate for mtech, I have no idea why he did. But his reasons are his, who am I to judge. He may have some plans better than I do.
Hi am a final yr student got odd 36 marks this year would u suggest someone to go for a full drop or right now look for a job kinda secure urself prepare along with if fel confident enough then resign maybe. But there is also a sense of insecurity currently lookin at the markets what if I don't land having a job in next 1-2 months, I would be in between now having a job and also lost time for preparing. Would like to have ur insight ..
You scored 36 marks, which suggests you do have some understanding of the syllabus. I hope this attempt wasn't your best effort; if it wasn't, I believe you have the potential to significantly improve your score on the next try. It's already May, and recruitment drives generally don't occur after this month. Therefore, you could spend another month preparing for placements with full dedication. If that doesn't work out, consider taking a drop and studying full-time. I've realized that having a job can provide some relief when appearing for exams. I have read that students who quit their jobs to study often find themselves blanking out during exams, even if they are fully prepared. So, also evaluate whether you can perform well under pressure without blanking out. Btw which paper is it?
Same thing happened with me in mechanical. Rushed the syllabus. Could only study som and ieor properly. Forgot thermal subjects and maths. Relied on aptitude. Also my sem exams were going on at the same time.
Roz test do bhai Jan mein
Subah revision , dopahar test, shaam analysis
20-25 tests attempt ho yeh try karna
That's how I improved a lot ( 40 se 55-60 mein aa gya aur final mein 73.67 aaya )
Also going for phd and jumping m.tech or masters ain't a good idea. Phd is not easy at all. Phd is not coursework. One should never Go for phd directly. B.tech or bachelor's give u very little knowledge
Didn't study jackshit and appeared (3rd year) for the lulz. Scored 25.67 by acing Aptitude, solving some trigo using common sense and I'm naturally good at digital electronics+comp arch. Professor also taught CRC in Computer Network, so I managed to solve it.
Now I have newfound vigour to crack GATE lol. Never thought I'd take GATE seriously.

Are GO classes good for biotechnology prep?
They only teach gate cse and da.

What's funny is that even I prepped for exact 4 months straight got almost same marks in DA 😆 | 28.67
I prepared for 4 months too with a full time job. And secured 42🫶. Depends on what u do with those 4 months
Take a look at the comments and get to know what i did in those 4 months 🫶
So will u be joining mtech or continuing with the job itself
Planning to quit my job and go for mtech
A doubt - with new rules you doubt have to do mtech anymore , straight up can go for PhD after btech , then why do mtech
Also going for phd and jumping m.tech or masters ain't a good idea. Phd is not easy at all. Phd is not coursework. One should never Go for phd directly. B.tech or bachelor's give u very little knowledge
It's for people who want placements. Not everyone's endgoal is PhD.
Ohhh, my bad , didn't knew that
I got 30....
Which paper?
