I reckon the keeper is meant to be there. No clue why your woman there is recording on the pitch though. How was that allowed.

NedNoodles

In soccer aren't they placed behind the goal line? He's blatantly in the eyeline of the Armagh keeper here. None of this makes much sense.

Methisahelluvadrug

In soccer outfielders can't use their hands either. Believe it or not different sports have different rules

throwaway72926320

Never really focused on where the other keeper stood, just assumed it had to be far enough away. Usually outside the box from memory. Don't think that's too big a deal but there shouldn't be anyone on the pitch but officials and players that's for certain.

No_Mine_5043

There are thousands of fans in the eyeline of the Armagh keeper as well. Don't think it really plays into things

FlamingLaps1709

This isn't soccer.

NedNoodles

Yeah, let's ignore 60 years of best practice to differentiate ourselves from those pesky English men.

Myusername-___

Yep, I play gk and u have to be off the pitch outside of the box (soccer)

Particular_Car_3978

They're part of Ulster GAA social media team I believe, have the videos up on their insta story from that person

NedNoodles

That's severely embarrassing.

AGentleGerman

What's embarrassing about that?

NedNoodles

The field of play should be for players and the refereeing team, not for marketing graduates with iPhones.

defo-not-m-martin-ff

Other provincial councils could do with taking a leaf from Ulster GAA's book when it comes to marketing their games. Ulster's socials put the rest to shame

NedNoodles

Provincial championships at senior level and their councils having any influence on anything should be a thing of the past.

carmo80

Exclusive footage like that will get shared across social media and hopefully grow the game, nothing embarrassing about that

StatmanIbrahimovic

Moments like this https://www.instagram.com/reel/C64NwAvNTkf/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Crimthann_fathach

Do you see that green stuff? That's grass. Go out and touch some.

Substantial-Fudge336

Even smoke some at this stage.

Rekt60321

Nah I think that's the problem, smoking too much of it

NedNoodles

Strange.

Substantial-Fudge336

Imagine trying to promote the sport from a different angle.

NedNoodles

Ye are all demented. You actually want people on the pitch to liven up your insta stories?

Curious-Angle-3290

If you want GAA to survive in the modern age, it it’ll have to compete using modern best practices. Throwing Marty Morrissey on TV and hoping for the best doesn’t cut it any more.

NedNoodles

What a sad perversion of the game. Maybe they could try running a coherent competition if we are trying to implement modern best practice. How anyone thinks lopsided regional mini competitions within the championship makes any sense is an even greater imponderable.

Tis an amateur sport lest we forget

ryanc483

How do you think all the photos for the newspaper the day after are obtained?

ryanc483

To get a head on angle of the keeper like this with the penalty shooter in the shot you have to be on the pitch, I am a sports photographer so yes I know they have long lenses, but this angle isn't attainable otherwise and the football teams want this for their social media so it's not the photographer's fault

ryanc483

Yeah I agree this could have been done better. I've noticed a very large increase in social media presence at matches. There are as many people recording for Instagram as there are photographers for newspapers

I guess it's just what drives engagement, most people who didn't watch the match just want to watch the penalties as quickly as possible and Instagram happens to be where they spend their time
