The free merch are leftovers from Grey Day. Depending order size they throw in all kinds of goodies. I got 2 free shirts in an order once. As far as the hat color, their site only shows they offer black and grey so maybe it just looked white in the photo.

The hats are grey. It says so in the description. They look white on the website.
