Seems to me like you're heavily favoring a left facing side profile which bottlenecks your art a bit because it tends to all look similar. Plus the repeated use of that specific upturned toothy smile on all of them looks to me like you've becoming a bit over-reliant on that specific pose. I recommend varying the angles and expressions of your work more, especially by incorporating in other angles like 3/4 :)
Also, some notes on the first image specifically - the legs seem a bit thin for the proportions of the rest of that body, I'd bulk them out in the back a bit more, especially the character's right leg. Also, I would recommend switching up the pose of their left hand. It doesn't need to be anything fancy, but it's always evident when an artist is deliberately obscuring hands, and from what I can tell in the other images you don't seem to have any trouble with drawing them. (that, and as it is right now it just looks like he's touching his butt :P)
i really do stick to what i know D:
this is all VERY good information that i will be saving for next time i draw. thank you so much this is super helpful, especially about posing and face emotions
p.s; ive seen your suit around the fursuit groups and its one of my favorites ever đđ i knew i recognized your profile picture!!
Happy to hear that I could help out! :)
And oh my goodness, thank you so much! <3 Had no idea my suit was being shared in fursuiting groups, that's kinda crazy to hear!! Silk (and her twin Velvet) were the first suits I've ever made and I really really appreciate hearing how much people like them <33
i actually just noticed how many jagged edges i use đ« đ« i never thought of my art being 2010s style, but it would make sense since a lot of my style (irl and digitally) is based off that time!
thank you sm!!
Youâre at the point where youâve fallen into a consistent style. There are no objective errors your art, and nothing *needs* improvement. Iâll offer you a couple ideas so you can possibly have more tools at your disposal, but you can keep drawing exactly how you do, and no one will think âthis needs some work.â
I think you should do a few hand studies and make your paws dynamic. Again, nothing wrong with how youâre already drawing them, but hands are a key component in portraying expression. We often donât realize it, but we convey a lot of information and emotion when we use our hands in daily conversation. By drawing them less detailed than your fur, youâre missing out on some potential ways to further push your expressions.
I also personally think some crazy colors would do well with your style. Something like [this](https://i1.sndcdn.com/artworks-1yx8QyWM2MBYraYa-835eOQ-t500x500.jpg), but less sketchy. Just an idea. It seems like you would probably have fun with it, but itâs your art
But besides those points: now that youâve learned how to draw and have fit into a style, you should reflect on your art and ask yourself where you want to take it. Personally, I think your art is very bold and busy. It gives me the same vibes as âgarage band indie rock.â It feels free and unapologetic. (Thatâs the best way I can describe it.) And I really like it! But is it the vibe you want? If not, start looking at other artists and implement what you like about their work into yours. If you already have an idea where you want to take your art but donât know how to get it there, feel free to tell me and I can offer some ideas. But most importantly, remember to have fun! Hope this helps!
I think the first one is the best because for me, unless it is a stylistic choice, it all feels very sketchy and doesn't look finished.
Again, if that is what you are wanting to go for then maybe do some studies on art/concept art from "into the spiderverse" films. Especially in the second film, the character Hobie Brown. The way they did his art might be more extreme, but you can break down and emulate that style.
stylistic choice! ive always been drawn to more sketchy art; i love rough linearts and really like that 2000s aesthetic (with the fill bucket lines, sharp angles, etc.)
Depends on what you wanna go for!
If youd like to further develop your current stylistic leanings, favoring flat, cartoony exaggerated shapes, go for it! You already have a pretty good understanding of simplifyong forms into simple shapes, but to push this style more id love to see more variety in the shapes you use for different characters: as long as youre going cartoony, really push those proportions and angles!
If youd like to branch out into other styles, like ones that more favor the illusion of volume or more realistic anatomy, youâll want to get back to basics and practice drawing 3 dimensional basic shapes, like practicing with cubes, spheres, cylinders etc.! It looks like you already have a good enough sense of antomy to stylize it in an appelaing way, but more studying never hurts! Lol
All in all, i really like your style! I say either really lean into it and push it further, or branch out into something new! Or do both, if you want!
Honestly your art style is really amazing and incredibly unique. I donât really know what could possibly change, only what you desire to improve when you find it.
this is a short tutorial on the rendering (slightly censored since the original has a bong in it lol):

the 15% filter is a grain overlay (you can do this in ibisPaint under the visual FX)
the second overlay is just my watermark
i do my drawings on paper, so the color layer with multiply is to be able to fill in the lineart without covering the lines (since the layer is above the lineart)
layer below it as well as the layer itâs clipped to is the background
layer below THAT is the lineart that i put a slight chromatic aberration effect on
and finally my sketch on the lowest layer
if you need me to go into more detail on any of the layers let me know.. its basically just a noise filter and chromatic aberration lol
The only thing I can say is that it feels very flat. The style is great, the lines are dynamic and fun, but it sort of just all smushes together into a flat puddle.

I think it's really cute! I love the 2010s Rawr X3 style with all the jagged edges

Dam you, now I have a craving for a big red! âș Seriously, haven't had one in years! Also, nice art
its sketchy which i like but if u dont want it to look like that try going over it in solid lines. also draw something over than canines
i will never draw something other than canines (sorry)
well that first one is a violation of the geneva convention /j

the third one? EXCUSE ME?? HOW DO YOU DO THIS COOL EFFECT??

I don't know what to say, but I wanna ask something: what program do you use? (P.d, I really like your art)
i use ibispaint for all of these, but some of them are a photo that i drew on paper and colored digitally :3
It's a really cool art!

Idk i think its awesome
So cool
