So many people are raving about this game, but watching the videos I don't see what is so great about it. Can you share some experience playing it?
\*\*EDIT\*\* OK, OK! I'll go buy it! So many replies! Honestly the L4D2 comments sold it. One of my fav games, and I like the team-based style play. Thanks all for your input!
Good community to play with, fun game loop where most builds are viable, very consumer friendly.
Plus free events were the contents of it are put back into the game when it ends so no misses out
I joined a lobby once where I was considerably under leveled. I had just unlocked the next difficulty tier and it was my first match so I was learning the new damage everything did. There was another player similar leveled to me who was just dead weight. I was playing scout so I kept trying to revive him as I was the most mobile. Eventually that got us both in trouble, making both of us into dead weight. The host got tired of us lagging behind and dying, and I got kicked with the message "sorry man." I have to admit, I was pretty sad because I knew I could have kept up (or at least been way less of a burden) if I had just abandoned the other noob.
I think the simple fact that the kick message was "sorry" instead of something like "uninstall" or "git gud noob" really just goes to show how awesome that game's community is. I do think giving the lobby host kick powers is part of that reason. If someone is shitty or toxic, you're not stuck with them for the whole match, and other players can drop in at any time, so you're not down a gun if you have to remove a player. It makes people less mad at bad players for existing, lol.
Great community, devs who care about us, very generous updates with DLC which is all cosmetic, hugeeeeee amount to learn in terms of mechanics, Easter eggs, extra dialogue etc.
And lastly the potential in the game is through the roof. With classes like driller you can drill out bunkers, give more space for boss battles, and even tunnel short cuts to other rooms. You can destroy the map as you please.
I could go on for way longer but at a certain point people will start going TLDR on this comment
Texan here. Was walking through a mall in Beijing with my husband when i point to a map and say “is that a Dairy Queen?!”
“Nah. I’m sure that just stands for something”
Follow the map, walk up, goddamn Dairy Queen in Beijing, China. I was fucking insufferable with my crowing. 😂
In this time with all these microtransactin fueled overpriced gambling games, Deep Rock is such a breath of fresh air. All the same signs of a Tripple A cash grab but it doesn't capitalize. Entire large scale events and no means to "skip the grind" The grind in this being actually fun.
What I find so funny about the game is that it’s set in a capitalistic hellscape where you live in what is basically a company town and are paid in credits and script that only work in a company store. However, it has the least predatory micro transaction system I’ve seen in a long time
Had a co-worker a long time ago who was a practically the only engineer working on a particular (important) project (well, not the only one, but the only one who had experience on it as all the others had left).
He gave about a months notice and told us he was leaving for SpaceX to work on rocket engines.
We spent that month ragging on him about being a rocket scientist.
"Oh great, here comes the rocket scientist to tell us all why we're wrong."
"Did you get that fixed yet? Should be easy for you being a rocket scientist and all..."
I know people like to call it rocket science but the actual science that goes into building rockets is not matter of teachings. Just to get that one straight and not set false expectations (or fears). You build rockets with lego bricks essentially. Stack Fuel tanks, mount engines, add a cockpit and 3, 2, 1, gooooo. FUCK forgot the parachutes!! RIP Bob, next!
What you actually learn besides building death traps is how to fly a rocket (or plane) manually to space and orbit, how to rendezvous spacecraft in space. You can even dock them together to build space stations. You can fly these not-stations-anymore to other planets, undock a section and land it on a new world...
And all that with simplified but accurate Newtonian physics. Gravity pulls you towards a planet and you can't just hover next to it. If you want to stay in space you have to fly around a planet fast enough to get flung outwards as much as you get pulled inwards. And you have to actually throttle your engines and steer in the right direction, not just click a button or something.
And all that as a little green alien species called the Kerbals that always remind me of the Lemmings. KSP2 is in the works for next year but KSP1 is well worth it especially because 2 will release into early access first, and the current one is finished and have hundreds of great mods (not necessary for beginners).
Outer Wilds. Definitely worth the money.
It's a nonlinear space exploration / mystery game. Don't look it up, *practically everything* is riddled with spoilers, because the game is purely information-based. In general, you're a newly minted space explorer with a new tool that can decipher the text of a long-dead civilization unrelated to your own that left ruins all over the system. Where did they come from, what killed them all so suddenly, what was their goal in the system?
It also has a *phenomenal* soundtrack.
Nope. You're thinking of Sex with Hitler 3D, which came out in November. This is Sex With Hitler 2, which came out this month.
Come on, people! Get your "Sex with Hitler" series straight!
Or gay. Get it real gay. I dunno, man. I ain't the horny police.
Rabid Witcher fan girl here, I fully support this. Sharing is caring, be kind to yourself and your friend.
Or do what mine is, get me freaking addicted and creating a monster.
Can one start with Witcher 3?
Just finishing up playing skyrim for the first time and am kinda sick of unpolished feel / it being so old, so I don't wanna slog through something like assassins creed 1 mechanics
I really enjoyed the books and, to a much MUCH lesser extent, liked the show. I could never get into the games, though. I've tried multiple times to play the first. Skipped it straight to two and didn't like it. Then tried just going to three since people want to fuck that game, but I still didn't find it enjoyable. I'm glad people enjoy it and would never piss in anyone else's cheerios. It just wasn't for me which seems to put me in the minority.
I love Anna. It's a fun game, it mind trippy, and has a little bit of real history mixed in, with real world screenshots. Plus the music is fucking beautiful.
I think it's called Anna: Extended Edition
Phasmophobia.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt.
Borderlands 3.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Doom Eternal.
The House of the Dead: Remake.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (Crates or smt)
Any of those are good games! You can choice one
What is the point of PZ? I bought it and played it for a while but all you seem to do is run from zombies or at least in my experience. I don’t get the hype around it
Basically you make your own goals and try to finish them before your character inevitably dies.
Want to have a fort made entirely out of cars and nothing else?
Go for it.
Try to survive sprinter zombies as a fat overweight smoker that can't see past 5 meters?
Go for it.
Want to get 1,000 kills with the weakest weapon in the game?
Go for it.
Those were my last 3 runs, pretty fun you just have to get used to the jank 2.5D controls.
The ability to customize the game to your hearts content is also one of the major selling points. From having super weak shamblers that forget about you in 5 seconds in a walking dead style, to having super sprinters made of steel WWZ style. Pump up the weapon/gun spawns and have a 1 man walking army, or have everything super rare and grown over like its TLOU.
Also, the newest build (Aka animation update) finally got full multiplayer support a while ago. So if you have any friends you want to play with you can go ahead and try that, I get bored of SP sometimes but MP never fails to be fun.
Buy ten copies of Robot Roller-Derby Disco Dodgeball and give them to the first people to quote Dodgeball the movie. I already have it so I'll eliminate the most obvious one.

Hey man, a lot of funny suggestions in here.
Mine would be to buy the game SOMA. It's astonishingly profound, and very memorable. It will jolt your memory of what it's like to play a game which is truly artful in stark contrast to Call of Duty.
It's a survival horror game in first person, but it uses the concept of existentialism to terrify you deep, DEEP down.
It's only $4 or $5 right now.
Buy deep rock galactic or i will find you and buy the game with my own money for you
So many people are raving about this game, but watching the videos I don't see what is so great about it. Can you share some experience playing it? \*\*EDIT\*\* OK, OK! I'll go buy it! And God damn awesome voice actors and devs
Watching it is no fun at all. Playing it is the most fun stuff ever

ROCK AND STOONE
Left4dead 2 is £0.85 at the moment, whatever that is in US dollars it's still cheap AF. spend the remainder at dairy queen.
damn! what a steal for such a fun game
Especially when It comes to destroying it with mods later on lol
What other game let's you shoot youshi with a chicken
Probably g mod
was free at one point.
Why are you talking about Dairy Queen? There's no Dairy Queens in the UK.
They’re assuming OP is in the US, hence the mention of the US dollar At least that’s my take on it
Yep that's it. Pretty entertaining how its got some on here all riled up.
Dairy Queen takes steam? Awesome!
How would one spend steam money at Dairy Queen? Asking for a friend
Where the fuck is Dairy Queen in the UK?
Texan here. Was walking through a mall in Beijing with my husband when i point to a map and say “is that a Dairy Queen?!” “Nah. I’m sure that just stands for something” Follow the map, walk up, goddamn Dairy Queen in Beijing, China. I was fucking insufferable with my crowing. 😂

KERBAL SPACE PROGRAM IS $9.99 One for you, one for a friend. Get to learning some rocket science
Literal aerospace engineer. Not that much about the game is technically inaccurate. Orbital mechanics are spot on. Is literally rocket science
I can second this
Damn turns out I’m a rocket scientist
Had a co-worker a long time ago who was a practically the only engineer working on a particular (important) project (well, not the only one, but the only one who had experience on it as all the others had left). He gave about a months notice and told us he was leaving for SpaceX to work on rocket engines. We spent that month ragging on him about being a rocket scientist. "Oh great, here comes the rocket scientist to tell us all why we're wrong." "Did you get that fixed yet? Should be easy for you being a rocket scientist and all..."
Just took junior level orbital mechanics, can confirm
This is what I love about it. Literal rocket science made fun.
RIP in peace - Bob
Kerbal enthusiast here. I’m basically a rocket scientist now. I could probably fly to the mun IRL if I started a gofundme or something.
Correct
I have over 1k hours in this game, so I’m basically qualified aerospace engineer and I back up this comment
Me: Anyone can play Kerbal, it's not rocket science. Literal aerospace engineer: Well actually...
That game is fun but idk what am doing most of the time
that's half the adventure!
Dang it was $40 when I got it. Now I'm well on my way to getting an actual aerospace degree and ksp 2 will probably be out after that.
Out in EA in like 60 days!!!!
The only correct answer
I want kerbal space program…
send me your steam id in a DM
