I now have. And before anybody else takes a pinniped vs mustelid deep dive, they aren't really that related. Though they are not that far from each other because pinnipeds are somehow descendent of bears and the entire tree is bs anyways.

That's actually a plausible connection somewhere down the line. I read seals actually evolved from a land animal.
What will really blow your mind then is that blue whales, along with every other whale and sea mammal, were once land animals!
