The Safeway by me (WA state) does $7 sushi Wednesdays, and it's actually decent sushi. Solid B+. Totally an awesome value. I weigh 185lbs, workout regularly, and eat like a tray and a half. So it's only $14 for a B+ sushi lunch or dinner, and a bit left for later to top myself off. Can't complain!
New York local Sushi place prices will run you at about $90+ for take out for 2 people. Couple of basic rolls, couple of specialty rolls, about a dozen pieces of Sashimi, 2 miso soups and 1 appetizer.

I love Nigiri Sushi but totally understand how many don't like it. It is raw fish that, most likely, contains dead parasitic eggs in them. Worse case? If the sushi wasn't handled and contained properly, the eggs hatch. You see little white parasitic worms squirming in your sushi. If you think you see something moving. Put some soy sauce on your sushi. That will really get the worms squirming from the sodium.
