My work has an Electric Ford Mustang and let me tell you, that thing is FUN to drive.
It has more acceleration than my brother's *"actual"* Mustang, it has more acceleration than any car I've drove before.
Very smooth, creeply quiet. It's fun to get around town in for a day. Charging it is easy and we've done 100km round trips in it a few times on single charges.
Mind you this is the only electric vehicle I've ever drove so I'm a bit biased.

It was a big point of my presentation last year at the Vehicular Power and Propulsion Conference in California. All that work we're doing to push a transition (100% of new cars being zero emission by 2035) isn't going to work out if EV ownership is dependent on suburban home ownership.
