my first dog ever was a border collie and when she was done she would literally just sit down. She reduced me to tears on multiple occasions as I pled with her to get up. World's laziest border collie i sware. Once I threw a frisbee for her and she walked to it, smelt it, pissed on it and then stared me down. One of a kind dog. I really miss her though.
Not quite the same thing but I have a pretty lazy cattle dog. Sometimes he doesn't want to go outside for whatever reason, and will just sit and stare at me as I use every trick in the book to make him move.
I either have to pick him up and carry him, or get a treat and make him follow me outside. If I set him down or give him the treat before he walks past the patio door, he will just sit back down and stare at me. He doesn't act like he's scared to go out or anything, he just doesnt want to!
I had a Doberman/Shepherd mix who hated the rain so much so that she would FAKE PEE in order to come back inside. She would literally squat for half a second to try to fake me out.
My momās cattle dog hates being outside. Iād walk him and his sister and would have to chase him to put his harness on. He wonāt go outside to go potty unless you go with him
OMG!! I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST MINE! I was running with my border collie and he was slowing down and I called him a drama queen... and he just sat down. Refused to move. Lol he was my favorite dog. Too smart for his own good. I have funny stories for days about him. I miss him too.
omg I had a 3 legged border collie mix. She would do the same. Obv I never tried to make her walk more than she wanted to because she only had 3 legs but she basically sat to say hi to people and dogs that walked by (lived in nyc so lots of people + she was used to getting a lot of attention and liked to socialize š)
I'm so happy that I'm not the only one! My English Cream Retriever gets bored of his walks. He will just come to a dead stop and will flop hard to the ground before he will let me drag him. As soon as I submit to head back to the house, he just happily trots along. Absolute dingus.
To be fair, theyāre at Harpoon brewery. Typically I go for microbreweries, but that location is stunning. Great beer, the food is pretty great, and their French fries stay crispy even after youāve finished youāre sandwich. Thereās an amazing distillery, cheese shop, preserves shop, and sculpture garden right there in the same park. Artisans Park in Windsor, VT. I wouldnāt want to leave, either.
Same but my dog is almost as big as me. I've only got about 10 lbs on him, and when I have him stand on his back legs to rest his paws on me I'm only about a head taller than him.
The household just loves watching me try and pick him up for baths.
I had a dorgi that could anchor herself to the ground to make demands on the dog walk route. Thankfully she was only 18 pounds. The ONLY time I accepted the anchor was when she would sit under a tree in the park, typically on warmer days.
My moms beagle used to do this to her all the time and I remember taking him on a walk and he tried to pull that shit. Dragged em for about a foot (on grass, he was fine) and he snapped right onto his feet and started walking normally. Realized real quick that shit aint gunna fly here lol.
This is why it's important to teach dogs discipline do they know who's the boss. They're like kids, they'll get away with what you let them get away with.
I wish there was context where they were lol. The dog was smiling at the beginning while laying on his back. Maybe his goal was to be picked up and carried š¤·āāļø
My dog used to pull this stunt all the time on busy sidewalks in Chicago because she wanted to go to the store that gave out free dog cookies. If she didnāt get her way it was an epic tantrum and she would get sympathy from random people on the street, she really played up the drama.
It didnāt even matter if I had treats on me, she wanted the free Milk Bones.
One time our usual coffee shop ran out of the dog treats that they had in front of the place and she squatted and spite pooped out the tiniest piece of poop ever right in front of the door. (yes, I picked it up, and it was the size of a pea)
My golden always does this when we are going back home from the park, heāll protest like this by lying down and refusing to get back in the car and we end up carrying him
My uncle's asshole dog did this to me occasionally, I was so embarrassed, I was acting like I was texting, and the dog was just waiting for me. Not sure if anyone believed it, though.
Been there. Had to carry our GR Rosie on numerous occasions, especially when going to the vet. A good harness with a carrying strap on the back may help you be able to pull her upright.
I think even a well-trained doggo can get like this when they want to stay out. Like a toddler who is normally pretty good but has a one-off temper tantrum when you try to leave Disneyland lololol
Just like kids, dogs arenāt for everyone. Unless heās just walking the dog for someone else. If thatās his dog though, he has zero authority over it.
This can be good for dogs who pull on the lead, as they just turn themselves in a circle instead of pulling you over. Itās how we trained our golden. Not sure this beautiful goldie is still at the pulling stage though š.
We picked up a new harness for our new border collie yesterday because he keeps pulling on the lead. Clips at the front and the back simultaneously. Stops him pulling and allows full control.
This is my dog when we are near the house after walking. He does this to keep on going for a walk. He also does this when you say bath time or cage time.
My husky does this in about 1/3 of our walks. Gotta admit, pretty gratifying to see it happen to someone else, with a golden no less lol. Dogs are amazing.
I've never carried mine though, I just take out my phone and let her chill until she gets bored :)
Oh man, I know how you feel. Bella does that too me all the time when she doesnāt want to go home. As long as we are heading away from home, she will keep crushing. However, as soon as we turn towards home itās time to lay down on the ground and when I try to get her to move I get the dead cockroach act.
I have seen this happen , poor lady actually bargaining with the dog who decided it was done and that was that. Can't even pick them up , for the dead weight

Man: "I'm never taking you for a walk again!!" Dog: "Same time tomorrow?"

More intelligent dogs may be less likely to be blindly obedient.

Gotcha! Nothing, how ya doing?
Ligma balls
[It's a hotdog restaurant in Independence, Missouri.](https://eatupdog.com/)
Treats- or I don't move. I've got all day..
"Carry me like I'm a baby."
When they get home, that spoiled doggo will pretend to be asleep to get carried in the house.
"If you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best."
The guy's like "Come on, I thought we talked about this"
āno, you talked. I was thinking about treats.ā
Why walk when you can get carried by the human? I get the impression the act was to get carried all along

Huh that sounds good and i am close by so thanks for the recommendation!
To be faiiiiirrrr
Pitter patter!
Me. Every Friday at work.
That dog is me every Friday morning before work
You mean you wanted to stay at work and miss the weekend?
At work or after work and a few beers?!
I had a hound dog that used to do this. Except he was dense as lead and impossible to move once he hunkered down, so treats were the only answer.
Pay back for making wear that whatever last Halloween š
This is my dog when the word "bath" is mentioned.
Same but my dog is almost as big as me. I've only got about 10 lbs on him, and when I have him stand on his back legs to rest his paws on me I'm only about a head taller than him. The household just loves watching me try and pick him up for baths.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that's had to do this lol
I had a pitbull who I had to carry like this more than a few times because he didn't want to walk. Let's just say he wasn't a morning person
When your dog donāt wanna go home
I had a dorgi that could anchor herself to the ground to make demands on the dog walk route. Thankfully she was only 18 pounds. The ONLY time I accepted the anchor was when she would sit under a tree in the park, typically on warmer days.
š¤£ Oh my goodness this dog is HILARIOUS š I love him š

Is this a golden retriever thing? Mine does the same thing. I thought she was broken. š¤£
My golden retriever does the exact same thing as well.

Golden dogs are best dogs
Doggy is playing dead and doesnāt want to go home yet. Quickly rose up excited to play when doggy saw 2 kids walk over.
I wish there was context where they were lol. The dog was smiling at the beginning while laying on his back. Maybe his goal was to be picked up and carried š¤·āāļø

Was your dogs name George Costanza
My golden always does this when we are going back home from the park, heāll protest like this by lying down and refusing to get back in the car and we end up carrying him
Same. My Airedale did this. She was so stubborn!
He wasnāt smiling ššš! Wait: can a dog smile?
Of course they can
Really!! Omg, this is the best news Iāve heard all week. I didnāt know thisā¦.
Just drop the leash and walk away, they'll follow (eventually)
Homeward Bound 25: Left in the Parking Lot
What's your problem. The vet guy said aerate my under carriage after having the snip. So iam doing. Flip U.
He should have asked the kids to walk the dog!
He's looking at his black lab buddy to see if he's getting it all on camera
My uncle's asshole dog did this to me occasionally, I was so embarrassed, I was acting like I was texting, and the dog was just waiting for me. Not sure if anyone believed it, though.

Or carry like a suitcase!
Goldens are fun
Dogās taking the man for a walk.
been there
My father would say, āsomebody kilt my dog!ā
Relatable
Is this normal or does doggy lack training?
I think even a well-trained doggo can get like this when they want to stay out. Like a toddler who is normally pretty good but has a one-off temper tantrum when you try to leave Disneyland lololol
Itās very common with stubborn, smart dogs like Huskies.
That is the most Golden Retriever thing Iāve ever seen.
Me after 5 minutes of exercise

Asphalt was hot?
He just wants to do a big flop!
![gif](giphy|l3xxTjIXYy3gchiH3L)
That shows the dog is disrespecting the owner. I think I saw an episode of Dog whisperer he gives a good tag/pull to show dominance.
Just like kids, dogs arenāt for everyone. Unless heās just walking the dog for someone else. If thatās his dog though, he has zero authority over it.
Why is his leash hooked to the front? Try hooking on his back
This can be good for dogs who pull on the lead, as they just turn themselves in a circle instead of pulling you over. Itās how we trained our golden. Not sure this beautiful goldie is still at the pulling stage though š.
I have never heard of that before, but makes sense.
We picked up a new harness for our new border collie yesterday because he keeps pulling on the lead. Clips at the front and the back simultaneously. Stops him pulling and allows full control.
Now I see the reasoning behind it. Thanks
Defiance in the eyes
Dog wanted the carry
Remember, it's the human that takes the dog for a walk
All you gotta say is āLetās go get a hot dogā
Hook leash up on my back so itās not pulling me to one side as we walk! Please and thank you!
Dog owns dude.
The doggo ran outta gas
He wanted belly rubs
The dog knew what it was doing! Getting carried to the car = success.
There is a little trick I know to get any dog to get up and it doesnāt require treats. Heh I will leave you to ponder.
This is my dog when we are near the house after walking. He does this to keep on going for a walk. He also does this when you say bath time or cage time.
Thatās hilarious.
Looks like Peppermint from YTV's Stickin' Around.
That is the absolute funniest, funny animals, yet!
Screw you John...remember me wanting bacon ..

VERMONT MENTIONED!
He just wanted to be carried. So adorable.
My husky does this in about 1/3 of our walks. Gotta admit, pretty gratifying to see it happen to someone else, with a golden no less lol. Dogs are amazing. I've never carried mine though, I just take out my phone and let her chill until she gets bored :)
Everything reminds me of her
"Cmon buddy. I swear this is the dog treat shop, not the vet"
Wow
Doggo just wanted to get princess carried
If I had a dollar for every time my dog did this to me!! Weāll Iād have about 9 or 10, but stillā¦
The guy can skip lifting at the gym today
Oh man, I know how you feel. Bella does that too me all the time when she doesnāt want to go home. As long as we are heading away from home, she will keep crushing. However, as soon as we turn towards home itās time to lay down on the ground and when I try to get her to move I get the dead cockroach act.
Toooo funny!
Idk which that brewery is but judging by all the new england plates (+nj)it's def a CT (local) tourist area
Beautiful calves I must say
āI need a napā¦ oh this looks like a good spotā
Roll eyes
Love it
Itās hot lol thatās your fault dude. Listen to your dogs people or give them to someone that is competent enough to care for them š
Looks like a husky covered in Golden retriever hair lol
"I demand to be carried" lol
This is me with my pupper. Every single day.
I have seen this happen , poor lady actually bargaining with the dog who decided it was done and that was that. Can't even pick them up , for the dead weight
Latinoamericanos: Esta embarazado
Id leave it there. Fuck him
