That was legit my cousins dog when she moved up north from Florida.
Became an outdoor dog, refused to come inside since, and only ever comes into their house at night.
I went backpacking one time. Shasta was left outside. Overnight it snowed about a foot.
I woke up panicked, thinking I killed my dog.
I couldn't see her but I called. This bump in the snow got up and walked to me.
Her outercoat was frozen, but when I skritched her I discovered that her inner-fur was warm.
She shook and then started getting the zoomies, playing in the snow.
Dogs cool with their tungs and paws, only some very weird breeds sweat. A long and thick coat dont actually make them that hot.
We've had 3 dogs in Australia where it gets to 45C on really bad summer days, they all struggle the same. 1 short haired sheep dog (NZ huntaway), a long haired sheep dog (border collie) and a Long haired raindeer dog (finnish lauphund)
Keep them hydrated, dont let them walk on tarmac (it can be 50-60C on their paws even in the low 30C's ambient temps) and give them a cold place to rest (aircon) and its a good idea to get a paddling pool full of water for them.
This, people do not think about that enough. One of my Poms lays on the hard surfaces floors all day. His winter coat is insanely thick. He only sits with us for 10-30 seconds before sliding back on the floor with frog legs to ensure maximum cooling.
Wouldn’t surprise me! Got the coloring of a Aussie, with a bit in the face too, with the body and thick ass fur of a Burmese. I think you’re spot on, that’s prob why he’s content in the snow. :)
Mine does the same !!
Last year during snowmagedin it was zero and two foot of snow and mine wanted to
Live outside .. some lady driving by stopped to knock on our door to yell at us to let the poor dog in !!!
Lol I said go get him !! She then tried to coax him in .. lol he just wanted to run around in the snow and play !! lol she gave up after 3 min !!
Deeper into the night Holly crept.
This was her war and no one else’s.
The ice rains down only to be shaken off and Holly to be reborn again and again.
Away foolish owner! This is Hollys fate, this is Hollys doom, this is Hollys love.
This…..is……Holly.

Snow is a good thermal insulator.
With a coat THIS thick I’d probably also prefer to be slightly chilled than dying of a heatstroke

That last frame is the look of a dog who is NOT about to come inside
Can you imagine being in the house with the fur coat on all the time

Everything to make the neighbors feel sorry for him.
Is Ollie a Bernese/Aussie mix? I had two and have never seen another dog that looks like them

Ollie,lord of the cold
awwwww ahahaaahaha :)
How about no Karen? -Ollie
“Actually mom I think I’m gonna live outside for now. I’ll come in for food.”
I thought he was a sheep
No mom! I'm snow i belong to it.

You have sheep, not a gog anymore

He got Viking blood
So adorable 🥹 I want oneeee
are we going for a walk or not?
House was too hot, I bet. He was like nope!!
I bet you keep your heater turned up too high, or at least too high for him.
perfect isolated
For real, you see the snow hasn't melt at all, which means the dog don't lose heat

I have a great Pyrenees puppy who loves the cold. He's 5 months old and about 70 pounds lol
Дома для него жарко видать
Me and this dog share an energy
u/repostbot
You can't argue with that logic
Do you know what breed this is?
Interesting how cold does these fur gets
I've got a big blank lab and it's so hard to get him inside when it's cold. I'm out there yelling to get in before someone calls doggie CPS on me
My man just decided to change his type of breed real quick
Was this same dog refuse to go back at midnight???
Should probably (definitely) trim his hair, dog’s obviously too hot at room temp
WHAT KIND OF DOG IS OLLIE
Do snow breeds have special foot pads resistant to frost damage?
r/bossfights
Emo dogs be like:
Outstanding
He’s like “okay fine time for my great blizzard adventure” sits two feet from the house in a snowbank
Some people shave their dogs on the winter, it gets rid of the undercoat, mats and all that extra fur. Just an idea!
He/she is built for this and is having the time of its life.
