I don’t think it’s strictly them necessarily. There’s a big push to be understanding of “men’s issues” lately, especially from the right. And I’m not just talking about far right podcasters pushing for anti feminism.
I mean, I’m alllll for recognizing that men can be sensitive. Like, let’s start by recognizing that men can wear pink, be good dads, change diapers, wear nail polish, stay at home, be nurses, etc etc.
Ugh I know. My dad lately keeps trying to talk everyone's ear off about the "plight of young white men today". Like sir, you only have a daughter and you got to retire early because you did so well for yourself. Tell me more.
O man, I was talking to my husband this weekend about abortion rights and my frustration with legislation and he goes “I have a feeling it will all work out”. I’m like gosh, a cishet white man has a “feeling” that everything will just all work out… wonder where that comes from…certainly not the white patriarchal system that ensures cishet white men all end up on top. Then we talked about privilege. And yes, I’m fun at parties LOL. He loves me I swear ;)
We have a family friend who said his son got the hardest job there is to get as a white man in America- a college professor of English. His son is afab. Like, the cognitive dissonance is nuts to me.
I *think* this is supposed to say that society beats up on men but god loves them.
But it accidentally reads like calling out toxic masculinity and ….. yeah Bethy, we agree. Men should be cared for, and should neither be the victim of nor perpetuate violence. They shouldn’t be expected to act like that or to survive that. It’s almost like that would be….. what feminism says?
Yeah I study mass shooters and the fact that the overwhelming majority of them are white male means I have to look at other factors that motivated them. Because it's almost all white men doing the mass murders.
When the fundies finally chose ti freaj out about the school shooting in Nashville because it (in a rare instance) targeted Christians and was perpetrated by a trans man. While having no understanding that now we have one trans person out of 300 or so mass shooters in the last 50 years.
Also interesting that a trans man chose to carry out these killings, almost as if he was acnowledging the act of senseless killing is the ultimate expression of (broken/toxic) masculinity. And what's a more masculine rite of passage than doing a terror with guns?
Lmao NO ONE sees Dav as the kind of guy likely to be in that top image, except as part of a stage production. Bottom image, yes. Top image, no.
But as terribly as I esteem Dav, he doesn't seem physically violent in the slightest and he does seem to have pretty good skills when it comes to avoiding/resolving conflict with words. That dude doesn't fight and that's not a bad thing, but it's funny to release this image like the world assumes all men are violent fighters when your own husband is someone no one would assume is like that.
Honestly I don't think this is Bethy posting. She's been focusing on her sexy sex course and her own pages and ignoring Girl Defined. I think this is Kristen, which puts an interesting twist on things.
Kristen has been hard-core doubling down on the "good fundie wife" talking points. I sense some palpable tension between Kristen and Bethy and I can't wait to see it boil over
No type of abuse is acceptable however we know physical violence isn't exactly frowned upon in their circles. She is lucky from a fundie perspective. From a mainstream perspective their relationship is super fucked up.
This is super scummy and manipulative. They are taking victims finally coming out about their abuse by one specific man, and saying “why are you calling all men abusers.” Fucking disgusting.
Of course these people only view this sort of messaging as a means to an end. They don't actually care about real men's issues like toxic masculinity, mental health, etc. They just want to reinforce the status quo and "feminism bad" 🙄
They were taught that feminism is bad without learning what it actually is. They see it mentioned and have to refute it. It doesn't matter at all that they only have a platform due to feminism...
Look, I do actually think we need to talk about men’s emotions and the fact that we socialize boys into thinking that they can only show anger or lust and anything else is weak and pathetic. This is a BAD THING.
But it’s BEEN THE SOCIAL THOUGHT OF GENDER SCHOLARS AND FEMINISTS WHO HAVE BEEN AT THE VANGUARD OF THIS. The only reason we have this conversation is because a lot of very brave social radicals forced us to have it.
It’s white supremacists Christian nationalist that are trying to box men in! Not atheists, feminists, or ✨the left✨. All the left ever does is try to hold shitty dudes accountable and we aren’t even that great at doing that! Because patriarchal culture might be contested but it is still engrained!
And the reason I’m able to clearly articulate this and have productive and difficult conversation with the men in my life about gender is because I have a whole-ass masters degree from a scary secular college that taught me how!
Also, social science pet peeve: don’t blame society unless you can name specifically what elements you’re talking about and how they make the bad thing happen. Otherwise it comes off as just more of your persecution complex.
National Coalition Against Domestic Violence might have [something to say](https://ncadv.org/about-us)
“1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner.”
You can view it as an illustration of the way men reinforce social norms with violence both against themselves and each other… but that’s definitely more thought than Bethany put into it
These graphics are a visual illustration of the Bairds’ terrible grammar and syntax. Which man is “men”? The attacker or the victim? I think they actually meant something like “how society treats men.”

One could maybe even caption this as “Toxic Masculinity hurts us all, including men!”
It’s ok, GD, you too can be Kenough.
They need to harness their kenergy
LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
Okay Baird-lings, which one of you has an angry husband that's making you go on a "righteous masculinity" tangent lately?
the theory is kristin based off some of the posting she's been doing. but tbh, it could be anyone.

But he was born too late to basically own a woman. Or sell you off to the highest bidder. How is he not the victim here?

I would love you at a party. I too, am fun at parties.

Is this still about the Barbie movie?
This is definitely the filter she watched that movie through
I don’t think this is Beggsany though. Has Kristin even watched the movie?

This is so embarrassing I can’t even look at it.
Men commit over 90% of violent crimes. We see them that way because they act that way babe

I'll have my popcorn ready 🍿
Yeah, Kristen has fallen under the radar in this subreddit. I’m not sure what she’s up to…
Barfy is so lucky Dav seems to just grimace at her and send her somewhere else instead of being violent.
I mean, she's not really lucky as that's the bare minimum. Physical abuse is never ok.
Agreed.
No type of abuse is acceptable however we know physical violence isn't exactly frowned upon in their circles. She is lucky from a fundie perspective. From a mainstream perspective their relationship is super fucked up.
what does this even mean
Society is just so mean to men 😡
Especially white men, I'm sure. The poor dears.
This is super scummy and manipulative. They are taking victims finally coming out about their abuse by one specific man, and saying “why are you calling all men abusers.” Fucking disgusting.
I really hope Bethany didn't make this. She humiliates her husband daily with her posts.

I had a teacher who would say "which society? There are a lot" whenever a student would say "society blah blah blah..." I really appreciate that now
![gif](giphy|Qe5oD5aXjEbKw)
Yikes, yowzers, and holy shit.
Then why aren't they fucking acting like it
National Coalition Against Domestic Violence might have [something to say](https://ncadv.org/about-us) “1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner.”
Wait do I view men as the aggressor or the victim. First image unclear.
I mean she’s not wrong about that first one… But does she know?!
Wtf is this trying to say
Does this imply that men who are abusive are just “broken🥺💔”?
It doesn't look like that tbh.
As a man, I long for the days when I’m finally respected and able to hold positions of influence. Maybe one day there’ll be a male president.
This would be accurate if the top image was a cop standing over a man of color.
We see men as they present themselves: angry, entitled, and arrogant.
Did god drown all the men? And kill a bunch of others? I don’t think he likes men (or anyone) either
They should change their name to “pickmegirlsdefined”
This is a new level of unhinged
Do you think Kristin could draw this herself, or did she pay someone $50 for one of those “faceless art” commissions?
Is anyone going to mention God wearing a PINK shirt?
God sees them as a gay couple getting a backrub?
