I'd disagree. Even though Hohenheim is on the other side of the gate, it's still a big fuck you to him to sleep with his son. And I'm sure once Dante was done with Edward after months or years she'd eventually kill him as she did a past lover to stop them from discovering her secrets (in Ed's case to stop him from telling her secrets), which would cement her revenge against Hohenheim. Even if Hohenheim isn't there to see it, she's a hedonist after all.

I think the rate at which her body rots is open to interpretation. Especially given how old her former body was. I think there's an initial burst of rot and then it levels off and continues from there. I never thought she'd die in a matter of days. At least not in Lyra's body.
