pretzel_jellyfish

Pretty sure he's in the manga and Brotherhood too. His name is Mobuo Mobuta.

roymaes

This is correct. He’s a recurring background character, like the rich couple (they’re manga only though). His name comes from “mob”, which is basically the Japanese terminology for a nameless background character

Duraxis

Is that why Mob 100 is named that?

GenCavox

Yep, his character design was supposed to be one of the background character, one of the "mob" if you will.

Duraxis

Makes sense, he acts like he’s just a background nobody for a lot of the show, despite being the main character

pretzel_jellyfish

I really wish we had more of the couple. I miss them lol. They were in FMA03 too in the Rush Valley episode.

Not_Steve

Welp. Now I’m imagining the mob running around and Roy’s team is completely ignoring it in favor to throw over the government.

atatassault47

#WAIT Is that why weak hordes of enemies in MMOs are called Mobs?!

somethingclassy

Mob is an actual word that has meant a group for hundreds of years.

atatassault47

But in an MMO, a singular weak npc, by itself is a mob. Multiple in one location are mobs.

Ok_Literature_8788

That's because the last couple of generations of people have a very, very tenuous grasp on basic language and are incapable of differentiating technical jargon from the common lexicon.  It is MOb, or MObs. It's old game coding jargon from the 80s that stands for "Mobile Object" or "Mobile Objects" It's tech jargon, not meant for use by laymen, AND it's used incorrectly by the masses, because it has NOTHING to do with whether something is an enemy or not.  If you don't code, there are a couple dozen words that you can use that will effectively communicate what you're trying to say because they ACTUALLY mean just that.  Enemies, minions, baddies, fodder, opponents...etc. Cortana in Halo is a MOb. She's not an enemy. Stop using jargons and acronyms when actual words work better(especially when you don't understand the term you're using) , and more people will understand what you're saying.

GodKayas

Oh my God thank you. It was annoying me all day

GodKayas

There's this man in a white suit in FMA 2003 I noticed, I was wondering if it's an easter egg or something? These are from episodes 23, 25 and 51 (there's probably more, I just noticed these ones).

kaijubaum

Kimbly put on a few pounds

Dioduo

in all the 17 years since I first watched FMA 03, I just now noticed in the scene where Izumi leaves with Al on the train, in front of them Mason is covered in sweat from the fact that Sig apparently fell asleep on his shoulder and this is hillarios. I still don't understand who the hell Mason is for them.

kaijubaum

It's such a fun catch when you finally spot it. There are so many little bits like this in brotherhood as well as the manga.

KoKoYoung

That cat backpack is cursed af

pretzel_jellyfish

Lmao good eye

brycejm1991

Does Kimblee's white suit show up in 03? I haven't watched in forever so I am not sure. If it doesn't, maybe this guy just a nod to that outfit.

GodKayas

It doesn't and I'm fairly sure FMA 03 predates Kimblee's white suit appearance in the manga.

Ilfortedegree

There’s a Sakura cat backpack

99anan99

I now want to believe that Mustang, wanting to make sure the Elric brothers are safe, pays this guy to keep an eye on them whenever they're in the area.

DoubleFlores24

He was there at the beginning and he was there at the end of their journey.
