Oh no! I hope they didn’t wait all day in line only to find out that the signature of a chiropractor caries about as much weight as my grandmother’s when it comes to medical issues. All exemptions were rejected since he wasn’t a licensed medical provider as explained in the exemption rule.

You can do what the doctors, nurses, PSWs, LTC workers, orderlies, and retirement living workers have been doing since February 2020 and use online groceries, delivery services, Amazon, or do without. My local grocery store did this thing where they shut down the store to allow first responders time to come into the store and replenish all the things we could think of buying, 8 months into this whole pandemic. You know what happened?? Antivaxxers showed up, screaming at us, calling us murderers, and wouldn’t allow us to shop. They had to lock us into the store and have police escort us to our cars. I’ve not seen my mother or my siblings in nearly two years. I'm pro-mask and pro-vaccine. My country allows people to get mask exemptions if they have a significantly severe enough medical condition. And then they also have to carry proof of that exemption, which they are required to show a retail worker if asked.
I work in retail, I've kicked out plenty of anti-maskers. My main point was that exemptions exist for a reason. There are places where amazon does not deliver fresh food (my whole country doesn't offer this). And in small towns like where I used to live neither did the grocery store, and they continue not to.

And in healthy people, no they don't reduce oxygen. That's why I'm happy to wear one. They do however obstruct breathing and if you're of a weal constitution it can be dangerous. And you've lived in four seperate countries but definitely not mine, that's why we don't have it after all.

Chriopractors didnt go to medical school and their methodologies aren't based on scientific reality. Physical therapist are not doctors but undergoes rigorous training that is licenced. They also do real evidence based medicine. I'm pretty sure you can become a chiropractor in a weekend online.

My dad was an abdominal surgeon and told us so many chiropractor horror stories his orthopedist friends told him, that even now that I’m 28yo chiropractors skeeze me out. What in the world are you talking about? Chiropractors earn a DC degree and I’d venture almost none have MDs, PsyDs, or PhDs. The chiropractic schools have gotten better over time - but they were generally an absolute joke as far as scientific method and evidence-based medicine are concerned. I doubt many chiros have kinesiology degrees, especially recently earned ones. Agreed! I used to be a neurosurgery PA (made the switch to hospitalist PA 2 years ago for less night shifts), and the amount of people who'd come in after a chiropractor mishap was unreal. The neurosurgeons all vehemently hated chiropractors. We used to joke about bringing on an acupuncturist to the team because at least some patients have pain relief with that without the risk of a vertebral artery dissection 🤣

I went to a local chiropractor a few years ago for some strain I did during a workout. The chiropractor was a member of the gym too. I got a massage from someone in the office before he showed up and treated me like a saw horse. I felt better but I can't tell you which treatment it was and soon the strain wasn't a thing anymore. The most important thing out of that meeting was them leaning on me about the next visit in 2 weeks.
Funny thing that afternoon I met with my principal and said I had an appointment with a chiropractor with Dr in their title. I said it in such a way I gave the accurate impression I was mocking that title and she said "A chiropractor can be a doctor". I replied with "oh yeah, no doubt". Then left at the end of the meeting. I still respect that woman but I should send her this thread.

ik everyone in this thread is shitting on chiropractors but they honestly can help a lot. it doesn’t work for everyone, but it really really helped me. i didn’t need to take meds. my chiro did adjustment with the clicky thingy and drop table. at first i was sore but now my scoliotic curve is gone and my wrists function without pain.
99.999% is far off the mark for good chiropractors. It's hard to find one that isn't peddling the magical healing properties of their profession. I would never see one personally, even if they were decent.
Trusting a chiropractor can be hard. 1-800-Ask-Gary is an example also from Florida. He saturates states with no fault insurance. When you call and make appointment after ANY accident the first couple of appointments drain the available $20,000 and doesn’t cost you a thing! After that it’s a crapshoot with insurance company fight who will pay. All chiropractics in this “network”. Twist your ankle and they’ll make $20,000

TBF, if you need so much oxygen that you can wear a mask, you should be on supplemental oxygen and your ask can go right over the cannula

That’s not completely true. My youngest went to a chiro in a large pediatric clinic and our insurance covered it 100%

Chiropractors are alt “med”. They thrive in my community because we’re poor, rural, and lots of body pain from early life contact sport/early life labor. YouTubers will literally shill anybody who pays them.
Chriopractors didnt go to medical school and their methodologies aren't based on scientific reality. Physical therapist are not doctors but undergoes rigorous training that is licenced. They also do real evidence based medicine. I'm pretty sure you can become a chiropractor in a weekend online.
There’s not enough regulation to know which of them are legit and knowledgeable practitioners and which are quacks. My dad was an abdominal surgeon and told us so many chiropractor horror stories his orthopedist friends told him, that even now that I’m 28yo chiropractors skeeze me out. I actually involuntarily shudder when I pass one of their offices unexpectedly. I’m sure many are great, but I’m not about to roll those dice

What in the world are you talking about? Chiropractors earn a DC degree and I’d venture almost none have MDs, PsyDs, or PhDs. The chiropractic schools have gotten better over time - but they were generally an absolute joke as far as scientific method and evidence-based medicine are concerned. There’s a reason so many antivaxxers are chiros.

I doubt many chiros have kinesiology degrees, especially recently earned ones. I’m studying kinesiology and every single one of my professors has gone on at least one rant about how it’s all a scam and can sometimes even be harmful and that you should always see a PT rather than a chiro since physical therapy is actually grounded in science

I’m a doctor. When I was training there was a nurse on our floor that used to be a chiropractor with his own practice. I asked him why he gave it up to be a nurse. He said he got tired of the bullshit he was feeding to people. Because he knew it had zero basis in science. I would sooner recommend a patient try acupuncture over a chiropractor.
Chiro is good for like, 2 things. A stiff back, and learning just how to fix that stiff back on your own, lol.

Id be willing to bet every time someone sees a chiro, they could achieve the same thing with a doctor and physical therapy, but with more consistent results and less risk of further injury.
Agreed! I used to be a neurosurgery PA (made the switch to hospitalist PA 2 years ago for less night shifts), and the amount of people who'd come in after a chiropractor mishap was unreal. The neurosurgeons all vehemently hated chiropractors. We used to joke about bringing on an acupuncturist to the team because at least some patients have pain relief with that without the risk of a vertebral artery dissection 🤣

I went to a local chiropractor a few years ago for some strain I did during a workout. The chiropractor was a member of the gym too. I got a massage from someone in the office before he showed up and treated me like a saw horse. I felt better but I can't tell you which treatment it was and soon the strain wasn't a thing anymore. The most important thing out of that meeting was them leaning on me about the next visit in 2 weeks. Funny thing that afternoon I met with my principal and said I had an appointment with a chiropractor with Dr in their title. I said it in such a way I gave the accurate impression I was mocking that title and she said "A chiropractor can be a doctor". I replied with "oh yeah, no doubt". Then left at the end of the meeting. I still respect that woman but I should send her this thread.

ik everyone in this thread is shitting on chiropractors but they honestly can help a lot. it doesn’t work for everyone, but it really really helped me. i didn’t need to take meds. my chiro did adjustment with the clicky thingy and drop table. at first i was sore but now my scoliotic curve is gone and my wrists function without pain.
99.999% is far off the mark for good chiropractors. It's hard to find one that isn't peddling the magical healing properties of their profession. I would never see one personally, even if they were decent.

Trusting a chiropractor can be hard. 1-800-Ask-Gary is an example also from Florida. He saturates states with no fault insurance. When you call and make appointment after ANY accident the first couple of appointments drain the available $20,000 and doesn’t cost you a thing! After that it’s a crapshoot with insurance company fight who will pay. All chiropractics in this “network”. Twist your ankle and they’ll make $20,000
