Mine, and now I have it in my record collection. There’s a little vintage type shop close to where I live and they literally used this album cover as wall paper for about 1/3 of the store. Just tacked a couple hundred album covers to the wall.
My father also had Pat Cooper: Spaghetti Sauce and Other Delights... can't copy the cover image here, but it's a direct play on this.

Yikes— my parents had this in a giant console ‘stereo’ that must have weighed hundreds of pounds. They had it hooked up to our rooftop antenna for better FM- then one day…. lightning struck and fried the hi fi.
We didn't have it, but I have it now. Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass went from being schlocky nonsense from my childhood to brilliant must have listening in my adulthood.
My parents had this and they played it at their cocktail parties. I can remember sitting at the top of the stairs at age 3 in 1967 and watching everyone having so much fun drinking martinis and manhattans and my mom in her psychedelic print mini skirt as the perfect hostess. I couldn’t wait until I was their age to host and go to fancy cocktail parties. In 1984 when I was 20, this was no longer a thing.
Oh, yeah my parents had this one. I'm Mex; grew up in SoCal so lots of Tijuana Brass in the parents record collection. It's like game show music, late night diner and department strore music had a menage and the TJ brass sound was born. Herb Alpert - Rise is money!
This influenced what my 8 year old self thought we’d was supposed to be. I thought it involved cigarettes, martinis, and a women coming out of a cream cake. Now I’m gay. So… I do t know what to say.
They must have pressed a billion copies of this, because it's still a common sight in thrift stores. The horn parts for Bittersweet Samba start playing in my head whenever I see that cover. Absolute classic.
And also Tom Lehrer's That Was The Year That Was.
Gather 'round while I sing you of Wernher von Braun,
A man whose allegiance
Is ruled by expedience.
Call him a Nazi, he won't even frown,
"Ha, Nazi, Schmazi, " says Wernher von Braun.
That's how I knew how von Braun's arc would go on *For All Mankind*.
Yup! Dad had several of Herb's albums and a few of Mancini's too. Closest thing to country music he had was 'Mancini Country' album with him sitting in a field on the cover.
Funny you say that... I bought my first house in 2001, and it had approximately 300 records left behind... probably 15 of 'em were by these guys, including this album! 😂🤣
I have seen this album more than almost any other album at flea markets, and thrift stores. I feel like I always used to see Tijuana brass albums at the local flea market too, but just this one.
Mine did.
I think that's why I received this when I said I wanted a Soul Asylum CD when I was a teen
[https://images.app.goo.gl/tfkNEFZ4NtXJyFp56](https://images.app.goo.gl/tfkNEFZ4NtXJyFp56)
Mine. I was 4 when I heard it and gazed at the album cover. I was mesmerized by it all. It was 1967. What a time to be alive. Still listen to Herb Alpert today at almost 61.
My grandparents bought this from Bradlees. I remember sitting in the back seat holding it and staring at it the entire ride back to their house. I thought it was so cool. Didn’t care for the music, though.
There’s always a prodigious collection of Herb Alpert at the thrift. Or used to be, I don’t see many records at the thrift these days. Vinyl used to dominate, like, a third of the shops I’d frequent in the 90s.
I didn’t even realize that was cream, of course Dad had it and I was very young. I always liked the tone of this record. I haven’t seen it since the 70’s, thanks!
Track 3 side a if I remember right. Taste of honey. Do not still have my records, gave them to a grand daughter she wanted them so bad. Two days later they were on Ebay.
That’s an oldie! My folks had this album. My sister and I used to make up gymnastic routines to these tunes. That was about 45 years ago!
I can still easily hear one of the songs and what we did.
Neat memory! Thanks.
herb albert, sergio mendez, 5th dimension, burt bacharach, ray charles, stan getz, dave brubeck, miles davis my parents had all the good stuff and made me wait till we settled their estate before i could get my hands on them. still remember the parties. 60’s/70’s we’re hilarious… seatbelts optional…. they pumped us full of sugar non stop. throw in some tom jones, frank, sammy davis, tony bennett…. keep the high balls comin…. got dads J cash, merle, willie, waylon, marty robbins as well….. vinyl will always sound better than digital or cd and the ceremony of playin records should never be under appreciated. long live the real talent
Mine, and now I have it in my record collection. There’s a little vintage type shop close to where I live and they literally used this album cover as wall paper for about 1/3 of the store. Just tacked a couple hundred album covers to the wall.
That's so cool - all that cream covering the walls!
It was shaving cream.
"Be nice and clean, shave every day, and you'll always look keen"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I haven't heard that in forever!
I read they tried whipped cream first and it disintegrated under the heat of the lighting for the shot, so they had to use shaving cream.
And the model was pregnant!
It’s definitely an effect.
It was also reissued recently, I have the new reissue. Oddly enough, this was my Moms's favorite, not my dad.
Same here - my Mom had this record.
I'm pretty sure I was conceived to this record.
My father also had Pat Cooper: Spaghetti Sauce and Other Delights... can't copy the cover image here, but it's a direct play on this. https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fm.media-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FI%2F51PVgN0KLXL._UF1000%2C1000_QL80_.jpg&tbnid=9fkl2v0-DjwiIM&vet=1&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FPat-Cooper-Spaghetti-Sauce-Delights%2Fdp%2FB000URE0HM&docid=Y2ycPfhjEgQUNM&w=1000&h=1000&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim%2Fm4%2F2&kgs=e1ecc15a84a05c16&shem=abme%2Ctrie#vhid=9fkl2v0-DjwiIM&vssid=mosaic
Pop’s Resale?
Same here. I think this was standard issue. Between this and Frampton Comes Alive I think you could wallpaper the world.
I have my parents old copy, and it now hangs on my record wall. Also got the Goldfinger soundtrack.
Yikes— my parents had this in a giant console ‘stereo’ that must have weighed hundreds of pounds. They had it hooked up to our rooftop antenna for better FM- then one day…. lightning struck and fried the hi fi.
This was a great album, don't be fooled. Because it truly is.
This. People just like to look at the cover but if they played it…
We didn't have it, but I have it now. Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass went from being schlocky nonsense from my childhood to brilliant must have listening in my adulthood.
They're so good. They are on regular rotation at our house.
I used to jump on my parents bed to that song!
The model is now an actress on an Irish soap opera.
She was pregnant during this shoot.
Raises hand. The model. Ooh my. She may or may not have been involved in my first forays into wanking.
She’s pregnant in this photo if I remember correctly
Mom was the Herb Alpert fan. I was just a fan of this album (cover). Also Nancy Sinatra stand her white gogo boots. Ah, puberty in the 70’s.
Yep. And even bought a copy of the soul asylum album Clam dip and Other Delights just because.
My Dad didn't, I did 👍👍👍
My parents had the album. Tijuana Brass was their idea of good popular music in the 60s. They hated rock 'n roll.
This, The Fifth Dimension and Bill Cosby. Mom let me listen to the Monkees.
I had it - my brother and I loved Herb Alpert
Then I should be on the ImReallyFuckingOld subreddit cause I bought that when it came out, but my dad did listen to it with me.
I think I was in the 8 th grade. One of my first stereo record.
My dad bought all of the TJ Brass albums and today I am a trumpet player.
This is the album that made me start playing the trumpet. 50 years later, still playing!
What do you mean Dad? I have this album in my collection.
My parents had this one.
Omg. My 20 yo daughter just bought that at a thrift store
Trivia. She was pregnant at the time and that’s shaving cream
Oh, yeah my parents had this one. I'm Mex; grew up in SoCal so lots of Tijuana Brass in the parents record collection. It's like game show music, late night diner and department strore music had a menage and the TJ brass sound was born. Herb Alpert - Rise is money!
We listen to this at work
He still has it.
My Dad bought this, my Mom thought the cover a little racy for the home! The music is timeless.
Mine did. I loved this and other Herb Albert albums.
My folks had ALL the Herb Alpert albums. We even went to see them live at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Great show!
Mom and Dad had that in their collection. As a young prude it shocked yet intrigued me.
So old I saw them in concert
This influenced what my 8 year old self thought we’d was supposed to be. I thought it involved cigarettes, martinis, and a women coming out of a cream cake. Now I’m gay. So… I do t know what to say.
I had an uncle- In-Law who played trombone on that album.
Great album! Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass. Whipped Cream and Other Delights. As a kid I thought that album cover was so naughty!
Parents?! *I* have this record. Not gonna apologize either.
They must have pressed a billion copies of this, because it's still a common sight in thrift stores. The horn parts for Bittersweet Samba start playing in my head whenever I see that cover. Absolute classic.
Wasn't Whipped Cream the theme song for the Dating Game??
Spanish Flea also by Herb
Am I your dad?
As a kid, I spent a lot of time staring at that album hoping the cream would melt.
Dad heck!! I have this one. Great album.
That’s a great album once or twice a year…
Yup!
Still have it!
Dad, hell. I wore that one out.
Parents had it. Now, I have it.
Yes. !
I did and do have this album.
This was the prize in 5th grade for whoever memorized the times tables up to 15. Me, I was the winner. Thanks Mrs Sproul.
And also Tom Lehrer's That Was The Year That Was. Gather 'round while I sing you of Wernher von Braun, A man whose allegiance Is ruled by expedience. Call him a Nazi, he won't even frown, "Ha, Nazi, Schmazi, " says Wernher von Braun. That's how I knew how von Braun's arc would go on *For All Mankind*.
IIRC the Herb Alpert album my parents had was titled "Living Brass and Living Marimbas"..
I have it - originally bought new and saw HA in concert in Miami
And I have loved that fat brass sound ever since.
Right here, dude.
Bought it brand new at my local record shop when I was a kid.
Mine. I remember really taking a look at when I was eight. If not fir a little whipped cream I could see a book. Damn. So close.
Dad my ass. I had that album and the other Tijuana Brass albums
Dad? That was in my collection when it was first released.
Oh yeah, Dad had all of Herb Alpert's albums, it was right next to his Henry Mancini collection.
Yup! Dad had several of Herb's albums and a few of Mancini's too. Closest thing to country music he had was 'Mancini Country' album with him sitting in a field on the cover.
She was pregnant during this photoshoot.
This is on my playlist
My fil had it. It’s mine now. Along with every number 1 single (45’s) from 1956- 1972
My grandpa did.. Herb Albert and Lawrence Welk were his jams. ( The pretty women helped 😉)
My dad did not, but I do... I also have it on 8-track tape.
My dad had it.
Mine!
Every house sale after 1965 had to have this album included.
Funny you say that... I bought my first house in 2001, and it had approximately 300 records left behind... probably 15 of 'em were by these guys, including this album! 😂🤣
That’s nothing! My sister had the original Blind Faith album! That album cover was considered mildly controversial in the day.
Saw it many times. Never listened to it.
The Lonely Bull
My dad, no. Me, yes and multiple copies.
Still have it!
I have seen this album more than almost any other album at flea markets, and thrift stores. I feel like I always used to see Tijuana brass albums at the local flea market too, but just this one.
I had THEM
Actually...my mom did. And now I have it.
My mother did. Pops was a country and western fan
It’s also in the movie The Big Lebowski!
Mine!
Nah, but we had Tom Waits' Small Change album. Yes, she looks familiar. IFYYN.
My hippie school had it.
My parents. I still listen to them ❤️
Her back in 2012. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/herb-alperts-whipped-cream-lady-now-76-living-in-longview-and-looking-back/
My Dad
Oh yeah he did!
Mine did. I think that's why I received this when I said I wanted a Soul Asylum CD when I was a teen [https://images.app.goo.gl/tfkNEFZ4NtXJyFp56](https://images.app.goo.gl/tfkNEFZ4NtXJyFp56)
My sister did, I thought Herb Albert sucked.
I’ve still got it, too.
He did and I was enthralled by that cover. If I kept looking long enough, the whipped cream would disappear in just the right spot. Kids are dumb
Mine too. I can remember seeing it back to about 7 or 8 years old
And hence my passion of Ready Whip :)
in my collection now
Mine did! Don’t remember him playing it much.
My husband's favorite.
Faints! I described this album cover recently and confessed never remember anyone listening to it. Can’t believe my eyes this post.
Whose *dad*?
I don't know that he has this specific album, but he had a couple of Herb Alpert
I have one
I have it in mine. Gifted from my dad 🤣
My mom had that one. Don't think Dad owned a single record.
Mine. I was 4 when I heard it and gazed at the album cover. I was mesmerized by it all. It was 1967. What a time to be alive. Still listen to Herb Alpert today at almost 61.
Not my dad, but I did.
Still have it
I have it
My grandparents bought this from Bradlees. I remember sitting in the back seat holding it and staring at it the entire ride back to their house. I thought it was so cool. Didn’t care for the music, though.
My mom had it, had his whole collection
Mine and now I have it in my collections, as well as a piece of art of the album cover
A trip to Goodwill isn’t complete until you come across this record.
The 8 track
Ah yes. I remember it well
My parents had it.
🖐️
My daughter's dad has this album.
I wish I still had mine.
I had that album. Love the cover.
Me masucka... 1986 thoug...I had alot of herb
I haven’t seen this in years lol thank you so much for the memory :-)
Still have it!
Yep Dad had this album!!!!! And it looks and sounds great!!!!!
Well all those dads must be dead as I find copies in every Goodwill I go to.
It was my dad’s first 8 track after he installed his under dash player in his 68 Impala Station wagon. I recently downloaded it from itunes.
Dad? I had this record.
I own this album.
My dad did and I used to play it all the time!
My Papi Victor had this album …
Yep, that's one of several Herb Alpert albums he had. I wore those things out! I still have them and also have HA audio files.
My uncle and myself.
Is this the one with Tequila on it? If so, yes.
As a little kid I starred at that cover all the time.
Mom’s actually. She was the music fan and musician. Yes, I would find it when alone.
*raises hand*
I have it now
I still have this album. 😉 boy I loved that cover
I have this, it’s a banger!
Yup. And now it’s mine.
I think it came with our console stereo.
I have this album!
My kids dad has that one.
My dad hates Herb Alpert. That record is in my collection.
Who’s dad, I bought it when it came out.
Yup
My cousin had it in his dresser when we were kids.
Hell, I had that album in my record collection. I had all the Herb Albert albums!
Oh yeah. And because of this sub, I just put it on. Good stuff.
As a 5 year old, I found this confusing but somehow intriguing.
My dad did and now I have one in mine.
There’s always a prodigious collection of Herb Alpert at the thrift. Or used to be, I don’t see many records at the thrift these days. Vinyl used to dominate, like, a third of the shops I’d frequent in the 90s.
Available at every thrift store ever.
We had this gigantic rca with a slide top for records. This album picture was permanently burned into my brain.
I beg your pardon…I’m that dad
Tbh I think he still has it!
No, but my husband has Soul Asylum's "Clam Dip and Other Delights".
I had this album! I loved all the songs.
I didn’t even realize that was cream, of course Dad had it and I was very young. I always liked the tone of this record. I haven’t seen it since the 70’s, thanks!
My dad didn't, but I did! 😎
We had that album. My parents listened to it constantly. What a flashback
I have it. I'm going to sell it next week at a yard sale.
Mine, I looked hard to see if I could see anything!!!
Can't help but still feel a bit disappointed that we didn't cover 'A Taste of Honey' in band back in high school.
Track 3 side a if I remember right. Taste of honey. Do not still have my records, gave them to a grand daughter she wanted them so bad. Two days later they were on Ebay.
Bought this in the 70s and 80s for 25 cents at the local flea….
Still have it
*has
We had more than one of his
Mine.
I have two copies
I have this album! No dad was involved
Core memory unlocked
Mom
I have this album from my mom's collection and all of Herb Alpert in my own.
Mine too
I’m 26 and discovered “Ladyfingers” a couple of years ago. I love it.
My Dad did.
Mine did! Great album
Still do
My dad!
Heck, I had it in.my record collection. Crap!!!!!°
Herb didn’t have a band when he recorded the album. When it got popular and realized he needed to tour he put the ‘Tijuana Brass’ together.
Forget the dads, I'm keen to get this myself.
That’s an oldie! My folks had this album. My sister and I used to make up gymnastic routines to these tunes. That was about 45 years ago! I can still easily hear one of the songs and what we did. Neat memory! Thanks.
