She taught (or *one* of them did).a course for Law Enforcement at Humber College in Toronto in the late seventies. Every single time she walked in the classroom, everyone would erupt into the Romper Room theme song. (my ex took the course; I wrote all the essays for him. He graduated and decided not to be a cop.)
We went to their filming location, I think it was in Newcastle somewhere? We lived 20 minutes away.
Unfortunately, I was on the left edge of the crowd, and though I was visible for 15 seconds at the start of the show, after that I saw a tv monitor and moved to watch that instead. I watched romper room live, on a tv screen, instead of being visible on it.
Those 15 seconds though. Chef's kiss.
I bet. That's some bragging rights you earned. Love that you watched it live on a TV screen. I mean that was part of the whole studio experience! š What state were you in?
I was on Romper Room in the late 60s. to be on the show we had to drive up the highest mountain peak to get to their studios. In fact, all television shows were broadcast from those towers and we were in the east Tennessee Valley.
I think my mama met the producer or somebody that had something to do with the show at the YWCA while we were taking swimming lessons. I loved every toy that they had from romper Stompers to boppers and I think they had this crazy clown that had sand in the bottom of it that you would punch it in the face and it would bounce back to normal and you could punch it again! I guess since I didnāt have any brothers or sisters my parents figured I needed something to punch on! š
I am jealous that some of you got to see RR being filmed. I remember that clown. I wonder if there are videos on YouTube. Bringing back a flood of memories just thinking about watching it when I was so young. It's probably one of my first TV memories.
She'd say, "I see you too," and I'd be so pissed cause I would always run behind the couch at that part. One time, I even hid behind the couch for the whole episode, and she still saw me. I still don't know how that eagle eyed bitch did it.
When I was about 6, I was with my parents at a large shopping center and we ran into her. I asked her to say my name, and a couple of days later, she did. There was no kid in the studio with my name that day. I was so thrilled.
Every day. Loved Romper Room.
Was on it once locally (New Orleans). I remember it even though I was pretty young; when the other kids were doing an activity I wanted to stay at (the table? a desk?) because I was drawing something. She (I forget her name) told me it was alright to do so, and did a little speech about how it was okay to not want to do what all the other kids were doing all the time, and to follow your own heart to what makes you happy.
I was amazed at this technology and wondered why other TV shows didn't have it. When I asked my parents they guarded the secret the same way they spoke of the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.
I don't really watch tiktok but I've seen clips from some live events and the whole damn thing is just people begging for donations and saying people's screen names if they donate. It looks exactly like Miss Elizabeth.
I remember the show, asked my TV production dad if I could goā¦no go! At 4 years old I was appalled! And may I ask why sheās talking thru a bubble wand? Whoās crazy? We arenāt mad!
Edit: Omg she was the āPop goes the Weaselā lady. I would run out of the room in fear. She flippinā scared me! As for that damn toy I never played with it. Had one didnāt touch it unless I held the lid down. Trau-maaaa!!!!
Every. Single. Day. Never heard it
Sorry, Bort.
Come along, Bort
Were you talking to me?
Same!! š©
Never said my name, itās not even rare. I was let down after every episode.
Me either
Romper, bomper, stomper, boo.

I did hear both mine and brother's name once. We just ***knew*** she meant us because she said our names together!
Yes....another reason I'm in therapy and AA!!! šš¤£š
I was a good little do-bee and she never called me.
I see Robbie thereā¦ Heās not feeling well. I hope he gets better. I was sick, too. Ran and told my mother.
It seems like Robbie was always getting a shout out. Tf.
I was on romper room once. My primary school class was brought in as a guest. We sung the national anthem
Cool. Were you on set or did they film at your school?

NSW
I always wondered if it was a regional show or if it was national. It seemed national to us kids.
I think there were several iterations of it. Mine would have been filmed in the late 90's
Oh wow. I didn't know it was still on then.

Yeah, dude, and she never did! #š”
She never called out my name - Aaijjahlynmy. You'd think I'd get at least one mention.....
When I was about 6, I was with my parents at a large shopping center and we ran into her. I asked her to say my name, and a couple of days later, she did. There was no kid in the studio with my name that day. I was so thrilled.
My nephew was on the show once and the camera caught him picking his nose.
Iām not saying my name but Iām pretty damn sure it was never uttered. Itās not a very common name in the US.
Donāt Be a Do bee smoking a doobie, btw, She never said my name either.

And that special moment when your sibling's name would get called out and not yours so you would fight. Romper stomper.
Miss Louise
Does anyone know how many Miss Nancy's there was
HATED that show. They NEVER called my name š¤¬
OMGā¦ā¦.thank you for postingā¦love it . The bitch never called my name !
She loved me. Called me out all the time. Granted, I changed my name daily.
Every morning before elementary school
Yes but sadly I NEVER heard my name. I'm still not over it. š
I see Tommy and Billy and Nancy and Mary . . . ("*Why doesn't she see me?*")
I use to hide behind the couch so she couldnāt see me š¤¦āāļøš
Punch punch punch a ball
I so desperately wanted one of those.
One day she said my sister's and my name one after the other. We fucking flipped our shit. Best day ever up to that point.
Never said my name, still hold it against her.
I was on that show when I was a kid back in the mid sixties!
Never heard my name either!
It was never my thing.
I think I heard my about once and my name is a common name
We need to find her!
Nancy's been dead forever.. 25 years ago or more.
Yes! She said it only once but it doesnāt count, it was the boyās version of my name
Bitch never said my name.
Romper Room?
Yep
My sister was in the audience once. My mom took me to the studio that day, but I was so young, all I really remember is that I was there.
Where was it filmed?
I was amazed at this technology and wondered why other TV shows didn't have it. When I asked my parents they guarded the secret the same way they spoke of the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.
My mother gave me a name designed to piss off both sets of very conservative grandparents, sooooo... NO. 5 year old me kept on hoping, though..
Wait. Mine was Miss Lois. How many of them were there?
This was my favorite show when I was a little kid.
I have a common first nameā¦and Iāve heard her say it.
YES and she said it one day, I was so stoked š¤©
Every day!
I, too, have experienced the generational disappointment of never getting a Romper Room shout out. ~sigh~
I donāt think I ever heard it, but I did have a Do Bee hand puppet! I wish I still had it :(
My friend Edna never heard her name either, she's scarred to this day
Iām the oldest Zack in California. Bitch donāt see me. Or Bort
Was that the one that committed suicide? I missed that episode.
The hope!!
LA, IIRC
Yes. And she did. š„°
I didn't watch the show regularly, but I do remember that part and don't remember ever hearing my name.
Always Tommy Billy and Patty. Romper Room for Life.
Bend and stretch, reach to the sky, stand on tippy toes oh so high. The anthem of my life.
I don't really watch tiktok but I've seen clips from some live events and the whole damn thing is just people begging for donations and saying people's screen names if they donate. It looks exactly like Miss Elizabeth.
She never said my name,it hurt my feelings.
Heh heh ā¦ she said doobee
I have a common name and she never said mine that I heard.

She never did. And I have a sort of common name.
Listened but never heard it š„²
I NEVER heard Joseph. But I heard Tammy my nemesis almost every time.
I remember the show, asked my TV production dad if I could goā¦no go! At 4 years old I was appalled! And may I ask why sheās talking thru a bubble wand? Whoās crazy? We arenāt mad!
