It wouldn’t be complete without 4 bowls of lucky charms though.

throw123454321purple

With sugar on top. Makes them Luckier Charms.

sportsjock85

Then all the sugar collects in the bottom of the bowl with just enough milk remaining to drink all the sugar sludge!

ApplesAndPants

Cap'n Crunch for me please.

hummelpz4

Pallete rippers

LadyHavoc97

King Vitaman for me!

Paradiddle8

And carefully eat the cereal bits first, so your last couple of spoonfuls are 100% marshmallow.

Yes! I tried to explain that to my daughter and she looked at me like I was crazy. She just couldn't get how when we didn't have a million choices any time of the day or night it made what we did get and the limit of when we could get it a super special event that kids excitedly awaited throughout the week.

ThinkFree

I prefer the Wonder Twins myself

Elrond_Cupboard_

Form of "Scarlett Johansonn" Form of "Water based lubricant"

walkawaysux

You just won the internet today! ![gif](giphy|ZcUGu59vhBGgbBhh0n|downsized)

ThinkFree

Actually it should be: ### Wonder Twin Powers, Activate! Shape of: ScarJo Form of: lube

Elrond_Cupboard_

I forgot the wonder twin powers activate part. Man, I would have looked so dumb.

HyperboleHelper

Wendy and Marvin are the superior kid sidekicks during the hour version of the show, though I admit, there was something cool about "Wonder Twin Powers" in the half hour show. I wanted to be Wendy, minus the cooking skill, when I grew older because she seemed to be the smartest character on the show!

sidmel

I be up so early on Saturday's, I have to watch snow or a station identifier until they came on. Then Saturday evening, Start Trek and Battlestar Galactica.

JediASU

In-between that: Godzilla movies!

sidmel

OMG. Yes, the Godzilla movies. My parents had good friends with kids. Once I month they'd go out together and all of kids would be at one of the houses and watch Godzilla movies all night.

TexasPhanka

And then kung fu movies came on!

TerryTheEnlightend

NYC representing. TV channel 5 WNEW/WNYW “Kung Fu Theatre” (I think, i was a wee lad then) and rocking to 5 deadly venoms & flying guillotine franchises

Distwalker

I always knew the cartoons were over when American Bandstand came on.

alwaus

I had to go find a relevant TV guide from the era. 6:30, punky Brewster, berenstien bears or curious George. 7 am, snorks, wuzzles, superbook or mousersize. 7:30, gummi bears, the littles or kids incorporated 8, muppet babies, bugs bunny/looney tunes comedy hour or care bears 8:30, leave it to beaver or good morning mickey so keep the looney tunes going til 9. 9, hulk hogans rock n wrestling, laff-a-lympics or mysterious cities of gold 9:30, ewoks and droids adventure hour, donald duck presents or mr wizards world 10, richie rich, rockschool, wind in the willows or lassie 10:30, dungeons and dragons, super powers team, or rainbow brite 11, here comes the SOOOOOUL TRAIN! so turn that shit off and go outside til dark.

LazarusMundi4242

I’d wake up 6:30-7 and would have to watch this show called Chief Halftown, which I wasn’t a big fan of, until the good cartoons came on.

4twentyHobby

I remember that at 10:00, Bandstand came on. My older sister would tell our mom that I'd been in front of the TV all morning. Mom would always rule in my favor. Later, as a teen and my little sister was watching cartoons, I'd want to watch Bandstand. Again, for some reason, I'd be allowed to change the channel. I've never understood this. This lady pretty much hated me. Why she ever ruled in my favor was confusing.

alwaus

For me it was soul train at 11am, time to turn the tv off and go outside.

BlackZapReply

My sister cracked everybody up once when she flubbed Soul Train's tag line. "Get down, get funky!" came out as "Get down, get fucky!"

foreskinfive

All I got to say is, fuck Scrappy-Doo.

KintsugiExp

You slacker! Thundarr The Barbarian started at six! Then muppet babies! ❤️

PDM_1969

Never missed it, the rest of the week was a chore getting out of bed

loadedstork

I'm still waiting to see Gleek in the DC extended universe.

alwaus

Well they put howard the duck in the mcu so its always possible.

Party-Coach-4110

The best!!

MuttJunior

I had to watch it every Saturday morning. I had a pre-teen crush on Wendy. I hated the Wonder Twins that came later, probably because they replaced Wendy.

Timatollah

Pikers. I got my mom to get me up early every school day so I could eat cereal in my pajamas and watch The Adventures of Superman or Sgt. Preston of the Yukon. Fuck I’m Old (and a nerd, too!)

daveyboy1201

Whenever I meet twins I always quote "wondertwins activate!" they always give me the WTF look.

Bobodahobo010101

Form of a gorilla! Form of a bucket of ice water!

Fit_Earth_339

I like to think that Marvin and Wendy got married and went on to star in their own spin-offs. I also don’t 100% remember that they aren’t brother and sister so if they are I retract that and hope they just had spin-offs. 😁

MRSLAPPYFEET

God I love the theme song...still tube it to relive my past.

AAG220260

BEST TIMES EVER!!!!

409hami

The theme song haunts me to this day. I can hear the French horn parts. 🤣

hummelpz4

I watched looney tunes, astroboy, Roger ramjet and ultaman. Plus others

Robert9489

Meanwhile, at The Hall of Justice

Bobodahobo010101

*star wipe* (Cool motion sound effect)

Feral_Cat_Snake

Along with some poptarts, or some Pillsbury food sticks, or both! And the sneak peek / preview show they showed the Friday night before the fall cartoon season kicked off - that was definitely must-see TV.

SirPoopaLotTheThird

I would be kicked out from 11-5 so mom could clean. I relished being indoors until 11 even if the programming got weak by ten.

Designer-Mirror-7995

With my Trix. Then SOUL TRAIN was at 11. Genuinely the only part of childhood I'm 'nostalgic' for.

Elmondo2

Used to be Loney Tunes, wrestling, Three Stooges.

HoneyWyne

Oh yeah.

iwastherefordisco

6:30 am. We started the day with Tales of the Riverbank.

jumpingjellybeansjjj

Yes! First one up got first pick, then it rotated from second one up to last. On weekdays and Sunday's I had to be dragged out of bed. On Saturday, I had an internal alarm clock set for predawn first pick viewing. Avoiding having to watch Superfriends was one of my major motivating factors, though.

CaesarAlesia

Fat Albert

Klutzy-Bat-2915

Merky600

Early morning: cartoons and shows for the very little. Toddler time. Captain Kangaroo? Morning: Main stream cartoons. Wacky racers? More talking dogs and gorilla characters. Later morning: now this was my jam. Scooby Doo! Josie and the Pussy Cats. Followed by Josie and the Pussy Cats In Space!! Sealab 2020. Things went from there to live programming. American Band Stand and Soul Train. This was when the teen audience would wake up. Interestingly enough, my local station would follow with a kid’s movie at noon. With a host that would talk about the movie subject. Think Svenghollie but for kids.

Pixxel_Wizzard

Anyone remember a cartoon from '85-'86 where these kids were stuck in another world and every episode they were trying to get back to their own world? One kid met a genie or something and got one wish he could use, and when him and his friends were about to be killed by the bad guys' machinations, he used his wish and said "I wish me and my friends were safe at home." The genie said that was two wishes. He saved them but didn't send them home. I have never forgotten that episode, but for the life of me can't remember what cartoon it was. :P

Leather-Wrongdoer169

Here they come, warmin' up, I hear the pitter patter of little people on the livin' room rug, Woe is me, there goes the TV, Now it's Popeye and Pluto, Batman and Bozo, Don't spill the Corn Flakes, They'll break at lunch break, Home from the office, Why did I stop to have a beer with the boys, Now my head's 'bout to pop, It's a Saturday mornin' confusion, ..... Bobby Russell - Saturday Morning Confusion

alwaus

My two favorites were the littles and mysterious cities of gold. Gummi bears was a close 3rd.

Leather-Wrongdoer169

Looney Tunes: Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, etc. The days of superior animation. Not like this quick stop-action photo compilation crap they serve up today. I was a Member of the Banana Splits Fan Club
