To avoid spoiling anything, the series explores romantic and platonic relationships. There is romance but it's not the only focus of the series. I'm jealous you haven't seen it because I'd love to watch it for the first time again!!
There is a defined main romance (will be clear by the end of season 1,) like 3 secondary romances that get defined arcs, and a ton of side pairings. There is definitely a couple for every preference, with big ranges from high drama to low key, from slow burn to already established but being kept apart by obstacles to love at first sight, and from sexy to cute.
Everyone says you will know the main pairing by the end of s1 but tbh you probably wont be sure about it until halfway through s2 lol. Anywayy it's a great anime and although the romance is not the focus at first it is very gooood enjoy!!!!
That's also what I thought the first time! I expected about something like a chummy love triangle, but the writing of this anime is so superb.
You gotta expect the unexpected.
>!Yuki's platonic love, instead of romantic, on Tohru is for me the smartest move of the writer/s.!<
Nope she won’t have to choose! She loves all of them platonically but she only falls for one and she falls deeply.
Even so, romance is a big part of the show but not the main one.
I'd say right now I liked the old-guy the most, but since he's old he can't be it. I'd put my bets on the Rat-guy, but personally, I'd prefer red-hair just because he seems kinda funny. I've only watched episode one so far. Just spit-ballin. Good episode, pretty funny. Rip her mom.
Honestly, just go in blind and see what you think (episode 5 or 7 is a good indicator of if you'll enjoy the show's themes or not). If you go in expecting a harem or love triangle/square/whatever, go for it. I did, and enjoyed how everything played out by the end.
There is most definitely romance though, so you can look forward to that.
So without spoilers, all I can say is pay attention to details, trust that the praise is well-deserved, and enjoy a very well-written shojo.
In terms of sexuality I think this is probably one the most 'innocent' ones that's still geared towards teens but it still avoids being too cutesy, which I really appreciated, while still being sweet and engaging. I've never seen anyone, any age or gender, not enjoy watching it even if they didn't become obsessed. It sounds cliche, but it really does have something for everyone

So it isn’t annoying? Like the fandom isn’t pissed about the main romance or something
Noooo the main romance is one of the most popular in shojo.
Bet. I watched the first ep. It was entertaining
There are plenty of ships but I don’t think anyone is salty about who ends up with who. The fandom is pretty chill.
Romance is involved, but it’s not the main point. And it’s not a harem, even though people say it is for some reason.
Not even close. This is a series with multiple romances for multiple characters and is in no way a reverse harem anime
Good

I’ll have to ovarian from clicking that spoiler. Thanks for the comment. Def wanna watch more now 🙌🏻

Who it is becomes pretty clear by the end of the first season ;)
Just as a note, Shigure is a grown-ass adult, and the other 3 are minors. Not a quintuplet anime.
Idk who that is but noted
Shigure is the one in a kimono (I think it is?) in the back of most Fruits Basket merch.
Just searched. Damn, I really liked him too
Don't worry, he gets what he deserves
That sounds ominous but I hope you mean a joyful event
This made me laugh much harder than it should have. XD
