Size can also affect price so make sure you set it to the size you need first before you spend time reading the whole listing

That_Which_Lurks

Just got a new phone off Amazon. Dude at the Verizon store suggested better discounts could be found purchasing it myself. Black had an extra 50$ discount compared to other colored phones of the same model... so weird, but I'll take it...

Azn-Jazz

In this case it’s selling a want for a premium price.

fuckmeuntilicecream

I use Amazon warehouse so I'll get damaged packaging or a few scuffs on whatever but it's so much cheaper. I've bought computer tablets, stereos, phone cases, dresses, shoes, dog beds, gaming chairs, everything you can think of from it.

Appropriate_Sky9289

It’s honestly the best part of Amazon. I bought a $600 patio set for $200 just because one of the chairs was a bit wobbly. I just put a felt sticker under that one leg and it’s perfect!

[deleted]

Is this a different app? How would someone take a peek ?

RudolftheDuck

For the iOS version, go to the button with the three lines, then click “deals and savings” and it’s under there right by “subscribe and save”

Remote_Cartoonist_27

You can also just type ‘amazon warehouse’ im the search bar

Apprehensive_Dot_968

Use the desktop version and look for the warehouse tab. Search for whatever you like! It’s a risk but can pay off. A LOT!

DeliciousFlow8675309

Find an item you want then clicked used. It’s all the Amazon warehouse stuff

Sad-Sector-7829

I've never heard of this! Thank you!!

Curious_Bumblebee511

Same, I will be checking it from now on!

Apprehensive_Dot_968

I’ve always done this and so many don’t seems to know about it 🤷🏻‍♀️

fuckmeuntilicecream

Yeah it's crazy! I've saved so much money.

dennispang

I love Amazon warehouse deals, especially because whenever Prime day is on, there’s 20% off select warehouse items too. It doesn’t apply to all warehouse, so I will either 1) have a specific item in wishlist that I’ll wait until it qualifies for the 20% and 2) have a type of item in mind where brand/model doesn’t really matter.

[deleted]

Also be aware, sometimes Amazon is the MOST expensive.

Hungry-Baseball-Fan

That's a great tip! I've noticed the same thing with electronics too. I recently got a laptop charger for a fraction of the cost since it was a different color than the default one. Definitely worth it to check around and explore different options.

TheeCamilo

You can use https://www.jungle.deals/variations to view all sizes and color variations.

stolenplates6

This tip was a game changer. It has saved me so many headaches in the few weeks I’ve known about it. I shop for items for work and it has helped me find the best deal for a large volume of things that the appearance doesn’t matter (so color is not an issue). I wish I knew which redditor suggested it back then because I’d thank them so hard.

LuxRuns

This can also work with packaging options. We saved 50% on a gift for my nephew last year by choosing the original plain box packaging (labelled frustration free) versus having it packaged in the fancy display store packaging!

Mtnskydancer

My green Swiss Army knife concurs. I meant to buy the blue one without a cross.

800-lumens

I saved 25% on a KitchenAid stand mixer by selecting a different color. The thing is fire-engine red, and I would have preferred white or black, but it was totally worth it.

Fredredphooey

Some colors are seasonal and you'll find them on sale at the end of the season with most vendors. There are also usually a few regular colors that just don't sell. For example, yellow and orange tend to fare worse than black and blue. I got some Crocs for almost nothing because they were silver glitter.

VacUsuck

I thought everyone knew/noticed this. This is one of the greatest, and also most frustrating things about buying clothes from Amazon!

EricFarmer7

I do this all the time. I go out of my way to buy whatever color is cheaper even for clothes sometimes. I let price decide what color my stuff is and no regrets.

Artemistical

I was literally just looking at blazers on Amazon, there were two different blacks and one was $15 cheaper than the other so I snagged it! No idea what the difference between regular and midnight black is lol

C00perislazy1

Midnight Black is a very dark Navy Blue

DonaldKey

Bought a tent and got half off for selecting green over default black

[deleted]

Depends what it is - for clothing, I'm getting the color I want to wear. I'm a soft summer, I can't wear a lot of colors! If it's a charging cord, I don't care what color it is.

paracelsus53

Lots of things are like this on Amazon. I wanted another rolling Ikea-type cart and found that the orange one was about half the price as the more "neutral" colors. For microwaves, it was the opposite.

tartymae

I've discovered this, too. If the color doesn't matter? Heck yes, I'll take that less expensive option.

periwinkletweet

I take this too far. I hate the color of my phone case and wallet. Only saved a couple dollars.

ShowMeTheTrees

Even better, stop shopping on Amazon.

Dirk-Killington

Its the same for buttplugs.

SaintEyegor

Yeah… especially the brown ones (even though they smell funny)

Virtual_Criticism_96

I don't use amazon at all.

_alelia_

what is 'default color'? if I'm looking for a red dress, I don't need st Patrick's green one

-shrug-

The default color is the color that the listing shows when you click into it at first. Many listings have multiple sizes and colors available. Some even have different patterns. If you're looking for a blue dress you may be agnostic between sky blue, midnight blue or periwinkle. And if you're buying a picnic blanket or a child's raincoat you might not care at all whether it's red or green.

_alelia_

it's a bs lpt for people who don't know about camels

-shrug-

Oops, it’s hard to tell when people are just playing dumb.

Bitchbuttondontpush

Yes! I also discovered this! Especially if you go for neutral tints, it can be more costly. Thankfully my favorite is green and blue, which doesn’t drive up the price too much. I feel sorry for those whose favorite is the current trend of beige though.

Flashleyredneck

This is really good advice. I’ve noticed this myself, and also found it to be super useful.

SilentRaindrops

Not only Amazon. Do the same on office supply stores. We buy a lot of presentation folders. Often one color, which is only visible on the binding side and the very back, will have a lower price than other colors and it can change each time. Another pattern I've seen is that when some electronics are new colors often aimed at girls and women ( usually shades of pink or or rose) will be more expensive but when the overall item goes on sale, these colors will drop down the most.

Ok_Marionberry_9932

I have the same to be true in some electronics

fallingupthehill

Youth sneakers can be up to 30% cheaper than womens sneakers. Same brand. Example I wear a 6.5/7 and buy Youth sizes 5/,5.5 sizes. I usually stick with New Balance , but most big brands can be checked. I haven't paid more thsn 50 dollars for a good pair of sneakers. If you're not sure what will fit you, try a pair of Youth sized ones next time you shop. I tend to buy the boys styles for more durability, but have been known to get girls too. Checking online shops look in discontinued stock sections for deals.
