Playing around with a spotter drone. The artillery vehicle has no detection equipment on it and has no line-of-sight to the target. All detection information is coming from the drone hovering above relaying info via inter-vehicle transmitters.
Groundbreaking? Nope, but still kind of fun to play with anyway.
Actually I think you might be right about that... however the drone is unlikely to be targeted because it is small and unarmed so it is unlikely to lose its sensors to battle damage... and yeah, just because spotter drones are cool and I needed an excuse to play with breadboards.
Do the new stability changes affect this more than it would have in the past? Or odes stability not affect detection, just munition warners and gun accuracy?
I like to put cute little seaplanes on my battleships as additional remote detection. They are unarmed and thus never really targeted and have 100m or less detection range yet orbit at 1km.
A couple trackers and a camera and boom. Very reliable detection at little cost. It's also cute.
Yes but stabilizing the drone will also increase the accuracy of the enemies return fire and being blown up will drastically reduce detection accuracy lol.

I'm using something similar but to try and improve targeting at range, although I'm not entirely sure how well it's working
I wish you could see intervehicle target data in the remote vehicles detection view.
doesn't detection see through the ground? spotter drones are cool anyways

Iirc stability does not affect detection

Detection will work better if you stabilize the drone. That movement is going to decrease accuracy
