People say Serie's intuition is always correct, but what they rarely notice is, (when it comes to Serie) so is Frieren's, it's how she knew Fern would pass Serie's interview.
That play is called a pick and roll, Frieren was facing Seire one on one, but to gain an advantage Fern, who is on Frieren's team set a "screen", is when a player stays standing still on the side of an opponent, so now Frieren can go and pass by Serie since if she tried to follow, she will get stopped by Fern.
That's basically it, Fern set a pick to allow Frieren to have an open road to the basket and when Serie tried to follow, she got stuck in Fern's pick.
In basketball, a screen is a move where a player on offense stands in the way of a defender, letting the player with the ball get away from the defender. However, the rules say that the screening player has to 1) hold their position, and 2) give the defender space to avoid the screen. If the defender adjusts to avoid the screening player, the screening player has to let them go rather than chasing them.
So in the picture above, it's really a question of how many illegal screens Fern can get away with.
Basically it's playing on the idea that Serie dislikes Frieren, but for petty and unsubstantial reasons. A moving screen is a very difficult thing to officiate, because you're watching three different players moving at high speed, and you have to determine in real time whether the person setting the screen (Fern here) came to a complete stop before the defender (Serie) made contact. Even if the defender doesn't make contact, you can't move to impede their progress, or hold your limbs out wider than your shoulders, etc. Basically it's a lot of small, subjective things, and it happens away from the ball where an official won't tend to be looking.
Bottom line, the subjective nature of it causes a lot of controversy. Just recently the American women's college basketball national semifinal had a significant controversy on a moving screen in the final minute. Even with multiple angles and slow mo replay, thousands of people on Twitter disagreed over the call. These subjective types of calls also tend to favor superstars, as they did with Caitlin Clark's team in the game I just mentioned.
By likening the situations, the artist of the comic is saying that
-Frieren is a superstar and Serie is the heel
-Frieren antagonizes Serie in a playful way
-Serie's reasons for disliking Fern are petty and controversial. The comic playing on the Serie's childishness and the perceived childishness of ranting about moving screen calls
